I have all the kids I want but if I wanted more, yes I would. I just had one at 37.5yrs old & it feels/felt exactly the same as when I was pg with my first at 28. I had no issues due to my age either.

Yes, I think I would. We're 35 and 39 this year and haven't started yet. We take good care of ourselves and are in good health. We both FEEL ten years younger. So if I feel 33 at 43, why not?

ETA:  My answer would probably be different if I'd started in my early 20s and had a tween or two right now, hahaha.

With the right financial set up yes I would. A few years back I would have said no, but now my cut off is 45.

But most of my friends are just now starting to have children, and we are all in our mid to late 30s. So 43 doesn't seem that old or unusual to me.

Since I am starting young, I can't picture that. However, if I didn't have my first until later and wanted another, I don't think I would let that age stop me.

I had my first at 42. We've been TTC for 17 months now. I'm 45. Truthfully I'm starting to question if I can go through the infant stage again. It's a mind fuck. All of it.

No way. If I had a child at 43, my oldest child would be 23 and I would already looking forward (In a few years) to being a grandmother and getting my girls through their teenage years. It would kind of be my worst nightmare, starting over and all. Sometimes, with 3 children I already feel 100 years old! But that is me and I've been a mom since I was 20, I will be ready to not have kids in my house.

If I were in her position I probably would. I will say that when I was younger I could not have fathomed having a baby around 40'ish but now it doesn't seem so crazy to me. I had my last baby at 30 years old and I will be 39 soon...I do know several moms my age who started in their late 20's like me and have babies/toddlers ones. It's not uncommon around here at all. My DD loves all the babies and is bugging me to have another..she would actually be a great sitter.

I had my first at 25 years old. I can not imagine gestating over a 20 year period.

I had my first at 40, second at 41. I thought about trying for number 3 but had my tubes tied instead. Maternal age is not what stopped me. And really, someone should come up with a different term than "elderly primapara" to describe a woman having her first after 35 because, really, people? You don't think I might cut you if I hear you say that?

Yeah, exactly.  Considering the boys will be 18 when I'm 43 I will not want to bring more into the mix.

But had I started later I wouldn't let my age alone be the factor.

Sure, if I wanted another kid. But, no. I have no immediate plans to be pg after 40. I'd definitely keep the baby if I got pg accidentally even though I am very, very done having babies.

eta- Clare would only be 5 when I'm 43, so it wouldn't be too much of a gap. But no. NO MORE BABIES.

Nope. No way. Never.

I'm an older mom, but being pg in your mid-late 30s is very different from your 40s IMO. The risks are higher and for many people, life has moved beyond the baby stage.

I love that my kids are in school, and I couldn't go back and do it again. I've also got all the kids I've ever wanted. Perhaps I would feel differently if my family didn't seem complete.

We had our first when I was just shy of my 32nd birthday. I'm 33 now and we'd like two more. Hopefully I'll be younger than that, but if it takes that long then I guess, yes.
