I can't imagine expending mental energy thinking about how other peoples' babies are dressed beyond noticing if they're going to be too hot/cold in what they're wearing. Get a hobby, lady.
There's a post on MMM in which the OP says she judges people who put older babies (8-9 mo) in sleepers instead of "regular clothes." Is this honestly judgeworthy? Do people judge this, or just this person?
Jack sometimes goes to daycare in a sleeper, mainly because I see that sometimes regular clothes can impede his movement, or shirts ride up, and I want him to be comfortable and able to move around.
It never occurred to me that this is something judgeworthy.
I don't know nothing 'bout no babies, but I am wondering why the sometimes comment?
Why not just avoid putting the clothes that ride up on him and but instead put on regular clothes that do not?
I truly did not make sure DS was wearing 'real' clothes until he was walking. Prior to that, he was in whatever was clean and weather-appropriate.
NOW, I dress him in matchy clothes and separates, but when he was a beebee? Pfffffffffffffft. Why bother?
DS never wore sleepers becaus he HATED anything covering his feet. To this day he sleeps with at least 1 foot exposed, and when in his carseat and traveling in the car, he removes at least 1 sock + shoe. EVERY. FREAKING. RIDE.

No. I also don't judge when babies are barefoot or only in sock-feet, as long as they're not walking around. I remember that topic coming up in posts on TB and some people are really nuts about it.
Some of the things people put mental energy into just flummox me.
Fuck, I'm lucky if my son is wearing pants. He has reached the stage where taking off his pants and diaper are hilarious. Dude is in a sleeper today. Figure that one out, punk!
I have felt judged about this. Took M to his 3wk check-up wearing a sleeper and someone at the doctor's office commented pointedly about his "pajamas". I was in the nervous and insecure new mom stage, so of course I took it way too personally and made sure he had "real" clothes whenever we went out from then on.
I would've had to say something like "I know, it's so embarrassing, but can you believe he got a spill on ALL THREE of his tuxedos this morning?? I honestly considered covering my head with a paper bag to hide the shame."

I was going to post the same thing. My 3 year old is having pants issues, in that she hates wearing them. If she didn't know how to work a zipper, I'd totally put sleepers on her so she wouldn't be naked from the waist down half the time.
Moreover, since I learned on here that people judge babies for going out without shoes, a footed sleep and play is at least solving THAT problem.
WTF?! This is even MORE ridiculous than judging a sleeper. WTF does a baby need shoes for?! They're not walking! Socks or something if it's cold, sure, but really?!

You know I love you, but I can not wait for you to have a baby.

lol - no. but then my kid wore sleepers / sleep n plays pretty much her entire first year. There were a handful of occasions that we put her in real clothes. Oh and in the summer when she wasn't walking she went to the store with me frequently without shoes...
I felt judged taking O to daycare the other day in his PJ shirt and jeans. The kid did not want to take off the Dino pjs, and I was not risking a meltdown.
I don't get judging babies.
Now parents smoking on the playground, or texting while their toddlers are wondering around the parking lot? I judge the shit out of that.

I'm fairly certain I remember a thread on MMM during the summer about judging parents that would take a baby out in just a onesie. WHAT THE FUCK ARE THEY SUPPOSED TO WEAR WHEN IT'S HOT AND THEY ARE ITTY BITTY? My kid is generally sans pants in a onesie all.day.long. AND IT'S WINTER. (we heat with a coal stove so my house is 80 degrees and we have windows open in January).
