I rarely do/did this. After he passed out of the newborn stage, we pretty much always put him in clothes, albeit comfy ones, for the day. H and I have always loved putting him in silly outfits.
But I definitely don't judge others for putting their kiddos in sleepers. Like PP said, its called a Sleep n Play. They're comfy, cheap and washable.
Same here. I liked being able to put J in real clothes, but judging another parent for letting their child go out in a sleeper is just silly.
I will say I didn't start buying "real" jeans for J until he was closer to 1. Those just seem uncomfortable as hell for bitty babies that mostly just lay around or crawl all day. Instead, he lived in those pajama jeans from Carters.

I don't care of others do, though it was never something we did. DS was born in the middle of one of the hottest summers ever, so as a newborn he was often in onesies and sleepers were too warm, and then after that he had SOOOO many clothes I felt like I needed to put those on by day and jammies by night to get enough wear (or even just one or two wears!) out of this clothes. I still envy his wardrobe size.
Dh vetoed rompers once ds turned one. I was SO SAD.
I still put them on dd and he just rolls his eyes at me.
Ian still fits into Gymboree rompers this summer. He is 19 months. I bought several, because after this year there will be no more babies in rompers at my house and that makes me a little (or a lot sad).
Leo would be in a sleeper everywhere we go if I could. Little bugger is almost walking though thank GOD!!!! Carrying everywhere is getting O L D Old. But I digress. Short answer HELL NO I don't judge
DD wears sleepers constantly. DH is a SAHD and I don't think he's quite used to dressing a girl yet (he was much better about dressing DS). Pretty much the only time she's not in a sleeper is on the weekends when I get her dressed. Oh well, she looks cute in sleepers and then I hit the other extreme when I doll her up each weekend.
If your baby never once just exploded out of a diaper within 5 seconds of starting to poop than you are an extremely fortunate parent.
Yes, Obviously that is a different scenario but when they explode like that, they'll be leaking through more than just the onsie at that point. If they're wearing pants, they'll soak through that as well.
Listen, the only reason I'm rolling my eyes at these comments are because of the judgement. I am too busy as a mom worrying about my own kids. Who has time to judge other parents? YOu dont know their LYFE!! Seriously.
People are judged here on whether or not they reuse birthday candles, so no one should be surprised about judgment about anything.
I don't judge it but I don't do it. DS has been out of the house in pjs twice but thats just because it honestly never really occurred to me to take him out in them. I honestly only judge people who beat & neglect there kids.

I don't judge because I couldn't care less what other people put their kids in. I've never done it though and I almost never see a child over infant age out in pjs. When I do I usually think they must be having a tough day and didn't have time to get dressed before heading out.
Of course I don't judge. L wore a mix of sleep and plays and regular clothes during the winter, but now it's much too warm for them.
The locals here are super judgy about baby clothes. They also waaaay overdress their babies and it makes me sad because of overheating/safety issues. They look at L and think I'm a mean mommy for "underdressing" her, because she's not wrapped up in a huge, fleecy blanket outside. It's 80 degrees.
I'm all for using blankets inside because the AC can be quite cold. That's different.
No, but DD only wears sleepers to bed because I am continuing to fool myself into thinking that dressing her in "regular" clothes helps her differentiate between day and night sleep.
DD2 insists on changing into her pajamas before nap everyday. She "needs to wear her sleeping clothes".

One of my favorite couples/parents came over last month. Mom was OOT and dad was watching the big game at our house with his 2 kids (one is the same age as DD, one is younger). It took awhile until I noticed that younger child was in a fleece onesie PJ dinosaur thing. So, when I notice I shout "OMG is that a onesie PJ??" To which dad says "Oh, sure it is. Mom is OOT. Living the dream."
Oh yeah, Joanna keeps wanting to go out in her PJs lately. I tell her that we need to go get dressed, and she puts her hands to her stomach and says "no, I got THIS one!" lol
I have worked with so many kids. I judge jeans on non mobile infants and overalls or onesies on kids who are potty training. For special occasions, fine -- send in the button down shirts and annoying pants with buttons but I much prefer the sleeper outfits to fussy uncomfortable outfits that babies hate wearing.

You people have ruined buttered popcorn for me. Thanks a lot!
As to the smell of breastfed poop, for us it depended on the diaper (we did a mix of CDs and disposables with our two kids). In disposables it had a smell but I'm not sure how to describe it (NOT POPCORN!). But there were many times they would go in a CD and I wouldn't notice until I went to change it just because it had been awhile. It depended on the circumstances.

Dude, if people can wear leggings in public, babies can wear sleepers. I'm actually kind of irritated someone would judge this. Babies in sleepers are cute!
