In drinking tea and watching Mighty Machines with DS. He got up at 5:35a today. That is better than its been but I would really love to sleep until 6a again.
Im going to make apple cake (for my friend's party tonight) and then DS has sports class at the Y.

We made it to 5:05 today! First post 5:00 wake up since DST. Hooray!
H is taking L to the inlaws for 30 or so glorious hours in an hour and a half. Double hooray!
I hate our fridge. We bought a huge, SS, French door Samsung at a scratch and dent place. I loved it at first but now it is a total pain in the butt. After only 2 or 3 weeks, it started making a terrible sound and stopped cooling properly. We have a 5 year warranty so someone came to fix it. That was only 3 weeks ago and when I poured milk in my tea this morning, it was all lumpy. The fridge is at 51 degrees. The warranty place that sends the technicians is only open M-F so it'll be a few days before someone can come fix it. I was hoping to do a bunch of meal planning/grocery shopping/meal prep today but looks like that's out. Grrrr, stupid fridge!
When I said I hop DS sleeps past 6 in the MOTN thread, I should have said 7. I'm still so tired. I ended up being awake for 2 hours.
Anywho. Dd had a play date today at 10. I'm looking forward to it, I won't have to occupy her.
I was thinking of bringing something, like donut holes, but there will be like 5 kids there with siblings and that just seems like a lot of sugar energy! Any suggestions? Or just bring them anyway?
Oh and we had our family pucs last night. I thought 1 kid was stressful. 2 is totally insanity. Getting them to both look and DD to focus and stay smiling, and DS to look and try to smile was an utter shit show. It was hot and buggy and I didn't being a hair clip for me so I was just dying, jumping around like an idiot. Sighhh
Today is going to be a long day. C started moving around at 5:30, but waited until 6:15 to start calling out for me. Then he started saying "I wake up, please Mama?" so I went to get him. Meanwhile all of the animals are being annoying, as usual.
Second night in the big boy bed went well! Took less time to fall asleep (10 minutes), but he did need one of us in the room. I don't really want to start the habit, but he seemed legitimately scared being in a new room.
He STTN, and woke up at some point to read books. I only heard him talking around 6:30... Not bad! Today will be the first nap in bed. Hoping that transition is just as painless.
DH got up with DS at 6:00 sms let me sleep in until 8:00. I'm really appreciative of being able to sleep in a little, but DS's sleep has been so awful that I really feel like I need more than 2 hours to even start to catch up. Last night was a little better than most recent nights because at least DS quickly nursed to sleep each wakeup, but he was still up more than hourly. I'm so exhausted.
I can't get over how gigantic DD2 is. How did this happen?
I temporarily forgot how giant she was until you posted she was back to birthweight. That's how much DD weighed at 8 weeks! I think it all evens out though. Formerly tiny DD is a chunker at 4.5 months.

Hit the grocery store and get some fruit (clementines?) or mini muffins?
So DD2 has been an awful sleeper since the 1 yr molars came in, since June at least. It's gone from easy wake ups to marathon MOTN nursing sessions and I'm so done.
Last night, I finally decided we would try sleep training/night weaning and she slept all night!! I think she knew. Only thing different I tried was Tylenol when I had been doing Motrin occasionally (which never made a difference). Chances she'll repeat again tonight?
We are waking up here after a good night. DH got home around 1am so he was on morning duty today after my three nights solo. I slept in and feel glorious. I think we are going to go out to breakfast.
I pumped with my Spectra for the first time today and got 2.5 oz in about 10 minutes (after nursing)!! I don't know that I ever got that worth my PY, in 30+ minutes of pumping! Now, hopefully she will actually take a bottle for H so I can paint the bathroom.
I feel on top of things, I ordered our Christmas cards last night. Yay shutterfly 50% off! Goal is to get them out right after Thanksgiving to 1)get them done before baby comes and 2) so people have our new address.
I need to do Ds' photo book now. That will take forever, seeing how doing the cards took almost two hours lol.
Way behind here but we watched Brave for the first time last night and it was nice hat the parents didn't die, and that there wasn't a prince that saved everything.
First we have to take out butts off because our yard is a sea of leaves. I actually like raking though (and letting the kids jump in the piles), especially on a warm day like today. It screams fall frolic to me, lol

Yeah DD1 was 9 pounds 2 ounces at 2 months so DD2 being close to 10 pounds at 3 weeks is weird. I think the size 50 HA sister Christmas dress might not work
Oh man, just stuff her into it anyway!
HA doesn't really fit my short and fat baby. She's to big for 60s but 70s are too long. I'm hoping she elongates by Christmas.
H and I went to see Bill Burr last night and we were both laughing so hard we were crying. The inlaws stayed with B last night and I don't know what they did but she slept til 7!

The last dance at the wedding outside our hotel room last night was Lee Greenwood's "God Bless the USA." I've decided this means the couple was only getting married as a path to citizenship for one of the newly married couple.
Or maybe they're military, or just extremely patriotic. But clearly my "sham marriage to stay in the country" hypothesis is the most likely scenario.
The amount of whining in my house is driving me nuts. This morning, the girls have been fighting over the same high chair (they are identical) and mad because I had the audacity to put milk in their Elsa cups.
My aunt took care of a baby for three months (kind of like foster care, but it's through a charity) and he got adopted last night!!! It was touch and go whether his birth mom was going to sign the papers, but she did. My aunt sent us a video of his new parents introducing him to their extended family and I am crying my eyes out. I am so very happy for him and for them.
DS has been sleeping poorly all week. He woke up around 5:15 today and I rocked him back to sleep. He just cried out and started babbling in his crib around 7:00. I used the microphone button on the monitor and said "DS is sleepy. Lay down, DS" and, after looking around to see where the voice came from, he totally curled up and put his head down! I cannot believe this worked!! I know it may seem late to do, but DS usually sleeps until 8ish on the weekends. I can't tell if he's sleeping or just laying there with his head on his stuffed dog, but either way it's bought me some time.

Hooray for STTN huskymom. The molars were awful for us too. I had night weaned him just after 11 months and he STTN for the first time ever at 11 months and 20 days (I remember the day!) He did that for about 3 weeks and then the molars happened. He was up so often again and was just so pathetic that I started nursing him MOTN again. That went on for 2 months or so and then one day when he was about 15 months old and we had just had 3 nights in a row with 4-5 wake ups MOTN I decided to night wean again and stop nursing him to sleep at the beginning of the night. That time was much easier and he started STTN again after just 3 or 4 nights. He weaned himself completely just after 16 months. I wasn't really ready for that and I still kind of miss nursing. His canines are coming up and I'm nervous about how to deal with them without nursing!
*I use the term STTN loosely. It is rare that he sleeps past 5:00 but it's still way better than multiple wake ups.
