One of the things I'm hearing a lot is that people are tired of the voting system and that voting for her (or the "lesser of two evils") is never going to change anything. My argument to that was...why can't you vote for Hillary to keep Trump out of office AND do what you can to advocate for voter reform? Hillary didn't build the system. She's just playing the game like the rest of them. I hate the game and the way it's played so I'm going to advocate for reform moving forward, but I'm sure as hell still voting for Hillary in the meantime.
So far, I've gotten no response from anyone on FB.
ETA: I don't for a second think that this is the reason the majority of her haters dislike her. And I feel like it's safe to say that the reason many who feel this way hate the system all of a sudden is because she's a woman. Not all, but a good amount.
But that is not the only way to show your disgust. That is the way YOU think people should show their disgust. I didn't vote for Clinton or Sanders in the primary (closed). But I did still go vote. To me that shows the Democratic party that I am a registered member who cares. That I still went to vote for down ballot candidates. That I am pissed that this was the best the party could offer. To me that shows the party more that they need to change some shit up. I would think the Rep party would see the same if a bunch of people went out and voted down ticket, but not for president.
And people prioritize things differently than you do, so you can't expect everyone to have the same response. I honestly don't know who I will vote for yet. I have voted 3rd party for president before and I am not opposed to doing so again.
Sorry, I logged off shortly after posting so I'm just now seeing this.
I never suggested that that is the only way to show your disgust in the system. It was just a question that I threw out to my friends who hate Hillary simply because she used the system to her advantage (like many men before her and with her, Sanders included). You seem to have other reasons for disliking her and were leaning towards a third-party vote anyway, so I don't think my question necessarily applies to you. That's why I followed up with a disclaimer that I don't think this is the sole or even primary reason. It's just a sentiment I've heard and I wondered why so many of my friends were acting like not voting for Hillary is the only way to bring down the establishment. Even so, I appreciate your viewpoint!
I think anyone voting for Trump should be required to outline their reasons for doing so without using the words Hillary, Clinton, or any references to the same. I don't love Hillary, but I can explain why I'm voting for her even without bashing Trump in the process. And I don't have to look like a bigot. Bonus!
I like a little corruption in my political candidates if they're on my side. That's bad, isn't it? It is. It's why I'm unfit for any elected office. Or the Olympics. I'd be unapologetically doping my ass off, because WINNING!
I'll see myself out now.
It's like when I watch sports. I ALWAYS want the ref to catch ALL THOSE BLATANT FOULS the team playing against me commits. Buuuut, if they don't catch one my team commits? Hey, that's just a part of playing the game!
PDQ as I will delete- This was written by a well-educated, well-respected in her community, family member when we were on a group email discussing our "I Side With" quiz results. I think she raises some valid points (not that I agree with all of them), as to why people may not like Hillary.
This was written by a conspiracy theorist. The rest I'll have to take your word for, but her words don't prove it out. lol.
Right. Because anyone who disagrees with you couldn't possibly be well informed or educated. How could I forget.
I don't hate her. Obviously, the large reason that I wouldn't enthusiastically vote for her is that some of her platforms don't align with some of my stances. I do think, in a corrupt political system, she tends toward the more corrupt. I don't trust her completely. But again, she's existing in a system where I don't trust most. I do think she's ridiculously intelligent, competent, ambitious and a heck of a leader and I am able to admire a lot of qualities in her. She's just not my candidate. But, to be fair and transparent, I am downright insulted by the Republican Party's idea that Trump is my candidate.
I could not put this any better.
Funny story though, I have a friend who did a back to back tour at Camp David and is a staunch republican (I am an independent, so this is not a warm fuzzy dem speaking here), and he had nothing but very nice things to say about HRC. He said she personally greeted every SM on every visit to camp and addressed them by them and asked them about their family members and was very warm and engaging and a very lovely person. He maintains to this day she deserves none of the hate she gets for how she is portrayed as a woman. He will own up to the fact that had he never met her he probably would have hated her too.

I intend to vote for Clinton; however, I struggle to trust her (though I recognize there are virtually no politicians that we can trust).
I lost respect and trust with the email issue. She is way too bright to think using her personal email was ok. I believe she did it to cover anything untoward that might happen during that time period.
In theory not a bad move in terms of keeping yourself protected, but I'm not ok with it. I am voting for Hilary because I have less respect for her opponent.
Right. Because anyone who disagrees with you couldn't possibly be well informed or educated. How could I forget.
Well, the things your friends lists are basically right wing talking points, sooooo........
They're not all fabricated. Some of these things did happen. Her hands aren't clean. The question was, what's the real reason everyone hates Hillary? Is the only acceptable answer because she's a woman? Or are people allowed to have another POV?
There's going to be a major world event (maybe a natural disaster) that will keep Obama in office another 8 years and he will rise to world domination as the antichrist.
According to conspiracy theorist IG accounts
I'll never forget when my subway sandwich artist was like "well he's going to be the last president anyway. Just you wait." I was half interested in whether she meant total collapse of the system or that he would just reign on forever. Then I realized she's a 19yo sandwich artist and I don't really care.
I have not finished reading the thread but seriously? You (the USA) have such a thing as a sandwich artist?
Lol forever.
Even more so that it's related to subway - plastic sandwich, barely edible.

Apparently not, since you are going apeshit that my POV is that this person is a clear conspiracy theorist.
Lol, please show me where I went apeshit. I engaged in the conversation and you didn't like the talking points so instead of addressing any of them, you dismissed them out of hand as all part of a conspiracy theory.
I think she will make an excellent president. She has the intelligence, experience, and has garnered respect around the world. She has my vote.
Bill Clinton was predatory and his sexual behavior disgusts me. That Hillary defended a man who acted the way he did does bother me quite a bit. Does anyone doubt that Monica Lewinsky would've been drug through the mud as a crazy/liar/stalker if she hadn't kept that blue dress?
I am not generally one who can separate personal/professional when it comes to admiring someone. I think Hillary and Bill are both brilliant politicians but it's hard for me to admire them because of this.

I really don't understand how people do elite sports without doping. Lol. There's no way I'd train that hard, only to lose. I'd be all, "Look at me, I'm a champion! Stop staring at mah beard, losers!" I have no morals. And luckily minimal raw athletic talent to exploit.

I'm not terribly thrilled by Hillary, I do think she's way better than Trump. I think that Bill will be a ballin First Husband. He seems like a guy who knows how to throw a party. #priorities
I don't think she's any more hated than Obama or Bill were when they were up for reelection. With BO obviously a lot of it is racial, but the GOP impeached Bill over a blow job. That takes a lot of hatred. HRC is facing a lot of hatred, and a noticeable lack of enthusiasm, for someone who hasn't served four years yet, but I chalk that up primarily to the fact that she's been around forever.
So many of the allegations are speculative- the stuff about the Fosters, Bengazi, etc. And that's mostly driven by politics, with a healthy dose of misogyny for flavor.
There's probably a small bit of something to the corruption allegations - the idea that people who paid for access to Bill were given more favorable treatment, to her support for banks and other companies on Wall Street - but no one can play the game at that level without being tainted in some respect. BO is - or was- probably the cleanest president we've had, but that's because he rose so quickly. HRC is no worse than the Bushes or Regan.
And the stuff about Bill's affairs- that's just sexism. Would the "Christians" have found her more appealing if she'd left him?
And, obviously, the same is true for comments about her being unattractive. She actually quite beautiful, especially given the stresses she has endured. But she also definitely does not play up her looks, and the Fox News crowd clearly requires smart women to be hyper-feminine in every other respect to avoid further emasculating the menfolk.
The one thing she is not, however, is charismatic. I thought the SNL skit with Bernie was hilarious because it's true- you van just sort of tell she doesn't like having to pander to people.
And I think lots of people know a SS member who don't like X (former) first family member. My dad's SS friend hates joe Biden and told me so the first time met. Whoopity doo. Lots of people don't like their boss.

Can't wait to see the china patterns he chooses. lol.
I hate that we just expect there to be a first lady that only cares about china patterns and Christmas trees. I love the path Michelle and Hillary have laid out as the spouse of the sitting President so that we can get to a point where no one needs to question what a first husband plans to do.
I am also annoyed by Hillary because she is so fucking smart, yet she does some really stupid things. Like, when it came to the server in her house - They asked her if she wiped it clean before handing it over and her response - Like, with a cloth?

I don't think an impeached former press should be allowed back in the White House or any federal job.

He was acquitted. Or do the politically motivated charges outweigh his innocence?

Ah. I see. So a more roundabout way of saying "If she can't keep her husband happy how could she run a country?"
