So this would explain the Christian woman hate, right? She's not "biblically submissive" to her husband? Fellow Christians seem kinda shocked when they find out what an advocate for Hillz I am. You think Jesus prefers Trump?!?
There have been efforts for 20+ years to undermine her as a person, so I feel like there is always this sense from people that they don't trust her/like her, but they can't really put their finger on it. Whispers/character assassination attempts just seeped into the back of people's minds IMO.

Let's see....Whitewater, "Filegate," the way the Clintons used the FBI to find dirt on Bill's mistresses to discredit them, Bengazi, emails . . . don't worry, I'm sure there's more to come.
Tell us more about how you're going to vote for Trump.
Today one of my friends said that he doesn't find her trustworthy and that she will "say anything" to get to the White House. He also said he thinks it will be "business as usual" with her as the President. For someone who is disenchanted with politics, I can see how this may be the case, but IMO someone who knows "the business" and how to work "the business" is preferable to an idealist.
I hear she's a criminal, of course. At this point we've spent a ridiculous sum investigating her crimes (I read $100 million) and have yet to charge her with anything. Hmmmm. The whole Benghazi pursuit is simply looking to find something wrong. Did we investigate Ronald Regan after over 200 Marines were killed in Beirut in 1983? No, we did not. There was one bipartisan investigation to see what we could do better. But as we all know, we don't operate in a world of bipartisanship anymore.
Nonattractive female head of an oligarchy, apparently.
I was actually just reading something about the perception of her looks. It seems that she has finally made herself unattractive enough to be electable, in the same vein of Janet Reno and Madeline Albright.

How is this any different than any other politician, and yet the hate for her seems so much more deep than any before?
Or maybe it's because I'm paying more attention than every before, and the hate for president noms has always been so disgusting?
I didn't say I am voting for Trump. I will say that there is no way I will ever vote for Hilary.
So, in some capacity (either directly or by not voting at all or by voting for someone who has no chance) you're voting for Trump.
This is kind of bitchy. I 100% believe that Hillary is the right person for the job, and I abhor those voting for Trump, but I'm not going to browbeat others who may be voting differently. People aren't forced to only vote for 2 candidates in our system.
Unless that candidate isn't actually registered in your state, and then yeah, your vote doesn't actually count at all.

I also think we are more divided than we have ever been as a nation (thanks, media!). So that is a huge contributing factor.

Wait so if someone votes 3rd party they are voting for Trump? Get out of here with that nonsense. People should be able to vote for whomever they want. It is not throwing your vote away to vote for the person who best aligns with your beliefs. I know people don't like tillie 's political views, but eff this nonsense.
Now there are plenty of legitimate reasons to not like Clinton. But those who support her are never going to listen to anyone's feelings on that. If you take a look at CEP you will see several posts from black women who either refuse to vote for her or are seriously holding their noses while doing so. Just because this is a historical moment (which I will agree it is) and now white people now have someone to show to their daughters that anything is possible and you can be anything you want to be, doesn't mean that she is the savior or best option for all people.
One of the things I'm hearing a lot is that people are tired of the voting system and that voting for her (or the "lesser of two evils") is never going to change anything. My argument to that was...why can't you vote for Hillary to keep Trump out of office AND do what you can to advocate for voter reform? Hillary didn't build the system. She's just playing the game like the rest of them. I hate the game and the way it's played so I'm going to advocate for reform moving forward, but I'm sure as hell still voting for Hillary in the meantime.
So far, I've gotten no response from anyone on FB.
ETA: I don't for a second think that this is the reason the majority of her haters dislike her. And I feel like it's safe to say that the reason many who feel this way hate the system all of a sudden is because she's a woman. Not all, but a good amount.

But that is not the only way to show your disgust. That is the way YOU think people should show their disgust. I didn't vote for Clinton or Sanders in the primary (closed). But I did still go vote. To me that shows the Democratic party that I am a registered member who cares. That I still went to vote for down ballot candidates. That I am pissed that this was the best the party could offer. To me that shows the party more that they need to change some shit up. I would think the Rep party would see the same if a bunch of people went out and voted down ticket, but not for president.
And people prioritize things differently than you do, so you can't expect everyone to have the same response. I honestly don't know who I will vote for yet. I have voted 3rd party for president before and I am not opposed to doing so again.

i don't care if people vote third party, but I am infuriated by sore loser Berners who say they plan on voting for Trump now because they want to start a "revolution."
These are mostly white, privileged men and women who will continue to maintain their whiteness and their privilege when the "revolution" happens. They aren't the ones who will be persecuted.
So if you are a Berner who will vote for Trump, whose platform is the exact opposite of Sanders's over Clinton (whose voting record aligns with his on something like 93% of the issues), then you were inspired by the movement and not the message, and you can fuck right off.

I have met zero vocal Berners who claim they'll vote for Trump, thank God. And I know a lot of vocal Bernie people. I hear a lot of "I really wanted Bernie but I'll vote for the Dem nominee no matter what." My husband's 80-something grandma hates Hillary so much and when pressed it's things like, "she let her husband cheat and she's uppity" so basically "bitch doesn't know her place."

but doesn't this all apply to Trump, too?
Uh, except for the fact that Trump has never once held any political office and therefore cannot do "business as usual," since he doesn't have a fucking clue what he's doing.

Plus with the shit he spews on the regular, I really wouldn't classify him as someone who will say anything to get into the White House. I hate the idea of him as much as anyone, but he's made it abundantly clear that he gives zero fucks about political correctness, and doesn't exactly shy away from inflammatory opinions.

and also seems to think he'll be able to do whatever he wants as President, showing that he has no idea how our government works.
My dad has told me he would not vote for her because everything that comes out of her mouth is a lie (because apparently Trump is the picture of truth telling?!) what he really means but know better then to say to his feminist daughter is that she is a woman.
I don't think it's just that she's a woman- I think it's that she's a woman who isn't how a woman is "supposed" to be. She's ambitious. She wants power. She's not soft spoken, she's not warm and maternal.
I'm probably about to sound like a misandrist, but I honestly believe it is LARGELY because she's an ambitious woman in power, and males cannot deal with it, whether it's a conscious or subconscious reaction.

I can't talk about it with my dad, but I have a strong feeling it's remarkably similar My IL's are Trump supporters, & have asked (always in a joking way) that we keep politics off the table, as they have seen the steam come from my ears before upon overhearing discussions. Quickly followed up by tabling any & all political discussion.
Except when they want to drop baseless claims on Hillary, of course! At the start of my comeback (my piqued interest in this thread) "Ah, ah, ah!! Politics!" (Wagging of the finger) *Extreme steam
