I’d also be interested to know if these kids all passed the hospital car seat test or if they were premies or low tone. Maybe there’s a risk factor we need to be more cognizant about.

We used a RNP for several weeks but ended up switching to the FP cradle swing and bouncer. My daughter had a somewhat rare condition where she would projectile vomit so she had to sleep inclined for her safety until 8 months or else she could choke. So really nothing she was sleeping in was "safe" for her...but what else was I supposed to do? We bought a crib wedge but she would just slide off of it.
For next baby, i really hope they dont have the same condition, but if they do, what am i supposed to do? I am being serious here.....bc it seems like I have to have them sleep inclined for a to reduce a bigger risk of death from choking on vomit rather than smaller risk of sleeping inclined?
Wow. I remember my mom commenting that the RNP looked unsafe but I though she was just trying to undermine me as a new mom. Whenever DD was under her watch, she always put her in the crib which I used to put her there too, but the RNP was just easy to slide along the carpet. I think what shocks me from the article is that Fisher Price was able to successfully create a new category and just make up whatever standards with no checks and balances.
