This thread made me go watch the scene. Sansa is not rude. And it's hilarious.

(I'm clearly the best authority on this, because while I haven't watched the show in years, I've read the books and read a ton about the show, so I'm pretty much an objective expert.)

It was totally amazing. Second best scene - I'm on the "Dany with dragon wings" train.
“Uncle, please sit” IS NOT SNARKY OR RUDE OR DISCOURTEOUS. She says it politely and with courtesy despite the fact that he probably deserves a sit the fuck down, you buffoon. It was a moment of quiet, polite power that wasn’t a female character being snarky or a fighter.
Thank you for coming to my TED talk on this topic.

Let's also stipulate that 33% of her line is the word "please"--generally known as a polite word.
While I’m harassing everyone with my Sansa love, I would also like to offer these two observations on her overall arc.
1 - I find it truly lovely that despite never wanting to return to KL and refusing to go in S7, Sansa shows up with a northern army for Jon Snow. She does what no one ever did for her. Robb considered her and Arya lost, and so when she was the one on the outside, she showed the fuck up and was ready to fight to save Jon.
2 - in season 1, Sansa is going to leave her home to marry and become queen but at the end of the show, she is a queen in her own right, in her home.

I love it.
You’re never going to convince me.
She got her puppy killed! You can’t come back from that!
You can if the actress who plays you adopts said dog!
Sansa was naive and was unprepared for the Lannisters. She learned, unfortunately through terrible lessons, like her dog being executed (among other things).
I re-watched Ep8 and Sansa didn't even furrow her brow when she asked her uncle to "go sat down". Very polite and genteel.
I also wanted to ask a question about the closing scene when Jon, Tormund, and the free folk walk into the woods: wasn't that the the same woods in the opening scene of Ep1, Season 1, when the NW riders rode off into the woods and found the WW carnage?

The more I think about this comment, you are SUPER out of line right now.
How am I super out of line? If y’all had an issue with Anastasia’s posting style over the last two months, maybe saying something at the beginning of it instead of waiting until the pile on starts would have been better. It feels really mean now, and I don’t think it is deserved.
Fine, you think its "mean."

I hated Sansa in the beginning. She was a giant brat. But she was what, 12? I was also an obnoxious, ungrateful brat at 12. She grew up to be a strong, powerful woman. And thank god she told someone about Jon. Someone needed to. Jon was blinded by love.
Sansa was basically the only person to be right about almost everything in the last 2 seasons. Don't underestimate Ramsey. The army is too tired to go to battle. Danny is nuts. Bad shit happens to Starke men when they head south. These are all things she repeatedly pointed out to those around her.
Tyrion somehow became an idiot. Jon was a fool and had to be bailed out multiple times by Sansa and Danny. Arya was tough as nails and smart as well, but she's not a leader by nature. Sansa was the only one actually thinking clearly by the end AND willing to lead.

You see naive, and I see shallow, selfish, and cruel. She was disdainful of her life in Winterfell. She was the least Starky Stark, and she totally put her brother/cousin in danger by telling half the realm about his parentage! She thought Dany was crazy and decided to add her decline instead of keeping Jon safe. Also, oath breaking!
I also HATED her little scene with the hound where she was all la-dee-dah about being raped. If she had reacted coldly and leaned into the cruelty of what she did to Ramsey, celebrating her vengeance a bit instead of joking about it, I could have been more on her side. Instead, she hates Dany on principle, seems to blame Dany more than Jon for his knee bending, and just generally seems catty instead of secure in her power. That didn’t end well for Cersei...
Of course she was the least Starky stark. That’s the whole point with her and what she learns and how she ends up. I don’t really think that arc works without her being the least Starky of her siblings and being more isolated/othered from them. All of the Stark children are spoiled and coddled, just in different ways. I truly don’t get why people get all jacked about Sansa specifically being awful at first - that’s kind of the point and she’s, like, 12. Flawed characters and their arcs are why we are paying attention.
As for the rest I think Jon was a total dumbass in these last two seasons (I find the writing for him to have been the worst), dany has always been super problematic/irritating to me and I think sansa was right so we will have to disagree on most of her behavior this season. She also had to be the voice of the north to Jon because most of the rest of the north is fairly faceless and she’s the character who can push back on his choices one on one vs in the great hall. Did they need the help? Yeah they did. But the north has been decimated by war and trying to gain their independence so of course people involved are upset. It’s realistic to me. Where would the conflict be if everyone was like “yeah! Dragons! We need a foreign conqueror and her army!”
I did not like the Sandor scene but I felt like that was a dumbass writing choice and not indicative of Sansa as a character - it felt forced to me and had a very male perspective. I have said over and over there are things I don’t like about this season and the last (and others - season 5 bugged the hell out of me) but I still love Sansa overall from where she began and where she ended. I think I said maybe 90%? So there are things I didn’t like as far as the writing but overall, her arc works the best for me.

So I’m allowed to speak but only in the way you think I should, and that goes for Anastasia too? Pot, kettle dude.
I think we all need to simmer down the personal attacks. We are talking about a piece of art. There is no right or wrong when it comes to how we consume or relate to art.
Well, yeah, it was YOUR suggestion for everyone except Anastasia and eclaires to sit out.

@rvan multiple people have given Anastasia feedback on her posting style, not just me. we all have kindly put up with for weeks and months. I've already said that I enjoy Anastasia's posts and analysis but yeah I feel she talks down to us sometimes.
Go sit down or GTFO with trying to shame or point out ME alone with this nonsense because it's not happening.
At the risk of being told to GTFO too, I never felt like the convo was between just me and Anastasia. Many people were commenting and it wasn’t just about tone or posting style, including from FMLB. And I think the difference is no one has told Anastasia to stop posting, just offered feedback that apparently some see as mean. Fittingly, much like I didn’t see “uncle please sit” as rude or discourteous I don’t see said feedback as mean.
#cantstopwontstop 😂
But also, I got to go celebrate summer in my pjs and having an evening completely free of obligations besides wine and pasta so maybe I’ll stop for tonight.
Kind of a side note and it was like 30 comments ago, but there is no chance Robin's breastfeeding is a secret. 2 months before she fed him in front of the Vale she was in KL and her crazy is public knowledge. I give it a 75% chance she fed him in the throne room during court.
If I saw that I would totally include that on my raven message to my mom with the weekly events.

I thought the same thing. Lysa Tully is batshit. IT IS KNOWN.

The scene where Tyrion is like "Your sister has CHANGED" you can hear in his voice how nuts she is Haha
Ok I found a flaw in my own theory. The Starks didn't know she was BSC. HOWWWW. I'd be like "um Cat, come get your girl from KL she is not so great for the Tully reputation."

Everyone was afraid to let her know. The north is really isolated!
In my head the main area of the 7 kingdoms is a bunch of gossip and knowing all that shit and the north, Dorne and the iron islands are like “we don’t care about that southron BS!”

What? You are not even making sense. YOU were the one telling people....on a message board........repeat....on message board....that they should stay out of an. A-B conversation which was occurring....on a....you got...message board.
Then you have to be one of those people who starts the nonsense, then tells everyone to simmer down. Fuck that.
If you think this is mean and too personal you really should go someone else. You are really being condescending as fuck.

You’re the one who has consistently been a jerk in here today. Anastasia and eclaires were talking, you inserted yourself, and I told you to let them talk it out. Then you misrepresented what I said, were a bitch to me, and continue to be. If anyone should get the fuck out, it should be you. I don’t know what your fucking problem is.
WRONG. Maybe this place isn't for you and none of that shit you just typed is actually what happened in real life. You are the fucking problem here. Get out with that nonsense.

Did anyone watch the Making Of special last night?
Conleth Hill's reaction to the table reading of Vary's death was great... and the scene in the preview of Kit crying is from the table reading when Jon/Aegon kills Dany.
