I got to experience Colorado’s crazy May snowstorm last week and it was ... sucky.
OTOH, we got three back-to-back heavy rainstorms here in California, which is almost unheard of for this time of year (we should be squarely in the dry season by now — average rainfall for May is less than an inch.)
I’ve also heard it’s been unseasonably hot on the East Coast. Crazy weather everywhere.
Today is gray and drizzly in the PNW. Alexa said it was going to be 70, so granddaughter went to school in shorts and a t-shirt today. We had weather in the high 70s for a couple days last week, with a 20 degree drop overnight. Thankfully, yesterday was gorgeous. Today...typical Seattle winter weather.

Definitely not unseasonably hot in NYC. We’re finally seeing 70s after a cold start to the month. I always go to the Bronx Zoo the first week in May and this was the first year I didn’t because the highs were in the low 50s and it was just going to be depressing to be outside in that in May.

My sources were wrong! Hope you get some warm weather soon.
We’ve had so much rain. A lot of the farmers still haven’t gotten anything in the field.
On a selfish note, we’re having some work done on our landscaping and it’s been too wet for them to do much of anything. So now it’s torn up and just waiting. The 14 day forecast doesn’t look promising, either. (Though I really don’t trust anything more than a couple of days out, at best.)
We almost broke a century-old record for Memorial Day heat last weekend--99 degrees. I wouldn't want snow either, but enduring the heat/humidity combo is the actual worst part of this duty station.
If you want, you can hate on this Floridian who hates the heat and sun. ;p
I knew I would hate it before we moved here, but sitting in air conditioning all day, spending more time with my H, and having more money to spend on fun stuff seemed like a fair trade off. For the most part, it has been worth it, but today it is just too hot and it sucks.
Rain and cold for weeks. It’s like March has lasted 3 months.
Yep. Maine will sit in solidarity with the Coloradoans.
We had one nice day this past weekend and now we’re back to 50s and pouring rain.
MA/RI checking in here, same deal. It’s so cold and wet and I’m sick of it. The weather over the weekend was beautiful... and short-lived. It’s been months of rain. Seriously it has been raining almost nonstop since April!

I’m trying to appreciate it because the weather I like least is hot hot heat. It turns me into a brain dead slug and sweat really triggers my atopic dermatitis so I get horrible heat rash and sleep miserably. I keep telling myself I’ll soon be wishing for 60F.
But damn it’s gloomy.
Also I did all my container garden flowers and plants the last week of April. They have now survived three snowstorms and many more dark grey days than I’d like. I’m hoping they pull through. My basil looks the saddest but if we could just get a few days of warm and sun I think it might perk back up.

We’re finally in the 70s now so we made it. But until mid-may it was definitely colder than usual.

I got optimistic and put my basil out on the patio and I think it’s dead now.
It was such a miserable long winter that a lot of my perennials that are normally hardy in our zone died. Everything that survived is about 2-3 weeks behind where it should be this time of year.
It’s been hot here (mid 90s) which kind of sucks but it’s not our usual super humid mid90s so it’s actually been tolerable. After tomorrow it’s supposed to be mid 80s which is still maybe a little warm for May (mostly the lows are pretty high). The pool water isn’t frigid but it’s probably going to be bathwater by July.
There is a tornado warning southwest of us right now, but it is headed this way. I am crossing everything that it weakens and disapates in the next 20 minutes.
Other than that, we have had SO much rain and flooding. The next three days are supposed to be dry, luckily. And cool, for the time of year, highs in the low 80s.

NJ did an extreme version of its usual, which is late March weather until mid May and then skipping the nice weather and going straight to too hot to function. Except for a while this afternoon it was 60 and raining, but now it’s 78 and humid.

There was a tornado warning in the middle of the night, but the worst of the storms skipped us. There was a confirmed tornado not too far from me, but I don’t think there were any injuries. Apparently the tornado sirens don’t work where I live, so that’s a comforting thought.
Other than the storms, it has been pretty nice out. But my allergies have been out of control, so I’m stuck inside anyway.

Last spring was insanely wet here in VA. This year I think it might be more normal? I haven't been here long enough to really know. I mean, everything is green and humid and hot already. We're in the high 80s this week.
It is amazing to me to think of CO *not* being in a drought. I lived there for 12 years and in those 12 years, there were never NOT drought conditions. I also can't believe that Breck is extending skiing into June. Crazy!
We’ve had severe weather and tornadoes and flooding in my state every day for a week. OKC itself is mostly unscathed, a small tornado hit over the weekend near downtown, but Tulsa and other areas north and NE were hit hard.
