How old is LO(s)? Anyone TTGKTFU? 17 mos and almost 38 mos
Best thing this week? bjl is so good with her brother. i was there, but they went to story time at the library yesterday, and MIL was saying how during "circle time", her brother sat in her lap and she just held him tight during the whole time..and when it came to dancing, she made sure he would dance.
Worst thing this week? we have a full sized bed pushed up against our king..and boy sleeps on the edge of the king, next to the full. it's not perfectly lined, there's like 6" of "fall"..two nights in a row, he has "fallen" onto the full..he stays asleep and neither of us notice (i think)..but when i wake up MOTN to check on him, he's gone, and it's terrifying. i woke him up bringing him back up to the king. he's never fallen off before.
Recent milestones? bjl is pretty much a full functioning adult. she slides chairs around the kitchen to get to cabinets, to get cups, fills her own water, can open the fridge to grab her own carrots, gives carrots to her brother...i think she's out of milestones. well..until she stops peeing the bed i suppose.
boy is doing awesome with language. he can sing a couple letters of the ABC's (the ends of each line)..same with twinkle twinkle, and then he claps, and says yay when he's complete. he has so many words it's kinda awesome.
What is LO's favorite thing right now? bjl - dancing/music. i've been doing "toddler zumba" with her that i've been finding on youtube. she's also great at singing. i'm surprised at how many words she knows to songs. boy - besides boob? i don't know....nothing? lol. he's been exploring with me in the garden.
What is mom's favorite thing right now? SLEEP. always will be.
Easter pics!? we didn't do anything easter-y this year.
We call my son "didi" which means little brother in Chinese, and is the common Nick name for little boys in families.. It confuses my IRL friends that are savvy with online lingo bc they think I'm saying "dd" for my dear daughter but nope.
B is like "dude do you know how lucky you are that every time you cry you get a boob?" H still doesn't care.
when bjl was first born, and we were still learning the "hunger signs"...a friend came over and i told him "if she starts licking her lips, let me know"..and he was like "i lick my lips too every time i'm thinking about a boob". boys. lol.
How old is baby/bump? bjl: 37 months boy: 17 months
Any recent exciting milestones? bjl: she's alllllllmost done potty training. there are nights when she flat out refuses a diaper, and we let her. some days she lets us put one on, and we do. she's dry about 6 nights out of 7...sometimes that means a wet bed. a couple nights ago, she woke up crying cause she wet the bed with no diaper on...we remind her that if she needs to pee she needs to tell us, or go pee herself..and she said it wasn't her, it was her brother. it was so cute lol. boy: i love his words. they are so freaking cute. he also alerts us when he farts...such a boy.
What is baby/kiddo into lately? bjl: she loves painting. we do paint with water, and she loves it... boy: he's finally starting to get into books. he can "read" for a little bit on his own now..but still only about 2 minutes at a time.
How are you? tired. so tired. one day, i'll catch up on sleep. not yet.
books and/or art supplies. at age 1, you can get color wonder stuff by crayola, so it's not messy...color wonder is expensive though, so a very welcome gift.
Do you put anything in front of her to entice her to stay sitting up? B does this too sometimes (arches his back and stiffens when I try to sit him up), but if I put a toy or something he wants in front of him, he's way more likely to stay seated and lean forward to get the toy.
Good luck!
Yeah she doesn't seem to care what I put in front of her. Yesterday she did sit up for about 30 seconds on her own so I guess that's something I feel like she's too mobile now to want to just "sit" so that's not helping my cause. She's now pulling herself up to her knees and sometimes feet even to standing.
it sounds like she might just not be interested..if she has an issue standing, then the ab/torso/core muscles would need to be looked at, but if she can stand, i wouldn't stress too much. but again, check with your ped just in case.
all kids are different, but momma instincts are usually pretty good..definitely bring it up at the 9mo appt..if you don't think it's right, you can get evaluated for early intervention, etc.
Envious of the good sleepers aliasilovebed. Bjl has literally been waking me up since about 5 weeks pregnant. I have slept 7 consecutive hours maybe 10xs in the last 4 years.
I want a third...but not sure it will happen. Our family doesn't feel "complete" to me, but 2 has driven us nearly crazy and really strained DH and my relationship. We're still not in a great place, but slowly working on it. A is still little enough that I don't have baby fever yet, but he's so sweet and cute and fun right now. But...I haven't gotten a full night's sleep since late 2011. Not kidding/exaggerating.
when i see pictures of squishy little ones..or if i happen to pass by the "newborn" sized section, i melt a little bit, and get the pangs...but my son broke me. i cannot. will not. have another.
alias you are giving me hope that there's light at the end of the tunnel...18 months? is that the magical number...although i've been burned before. i kept saying once the boy sits up...he'll be better....once he can crawl, he'll be happier...once he can walk, he won't be so needy...but nope. this boy just. needs. momma. and i've been so exhausted. i will admit, though, that my h has been very supportive and have "taken" the kids a lot more lately, allowing me to step back..which is hard, but i'm feeling better.
Nope. It appears that 18 months a wonder week, sleep regression, night mare for most kids.
E has always been a pretty easy, happy baby. At 18 months he went through a temper tantrumy (that's a word) stage and wasn't sleeping well. He seemed to be past it and has been extra happy and cute. But, I might have jinxed it b/c he was up at 5 this morning w/ a tummy ache, screaming and wanting to be held.
oh boo. i guess the light at the end of the tunnel was a train. coming straight on. wooooo.
Chinese new year is typically late January until mid February.. It's pretty late this year. If you have a late Jan or Feb birthday.. Google the year you were born and Chinese new year to figure out if you are that year or the year before. If you are early January, you can assume the previous year.
do you get a coupon or is it right away? (i could click, but i'm lazy). i have something i can trade in (offload a broken stroller) to give you 25% if it's a coupon.
most car seats are excluded from the coupons, unless there's one specifically for that brand. i think pack n plays might be too...most items are cheaper from amazon even without coupon (at least when i was shopping for them)...when do you need it by? i can keep an eye on coupons for a bit.

How old is baby / bump? bjl just turned 3.. tear. boy turns 16 months in a few days.
Any big milestones? bjl hasn't peed overnight in....maybe 2 weeks? i'm so afraid to take off the diaper, though. boy says SO many words. he said "bless you" the other day after i sneezed and i just about died. SO cute.
Why is baby crying? my nephew is in town right now, so sharing toys is tough...for both kids.
3 and up is kid only in the pool I think - but it's still for rank beginners, they put a platform out so the kiddos can stand up in the water. I will call and double check tomorrow
keep me in the loop for this!!! i would love to do swim lessons with you guys!!
mukilteo y is supposed to have good classes, too, although i've never done any.
She was happy all day and slept good after puking so seems like it was different from when she was an infant. Like obvious crying and stomach pain (pulling legs up). Will try again in a few weeks. Hate the experimenting
we experimented again recently with bjl.....didn't go well. i hate it.
sounds like a bug, since both kids have it..but yes, it sucks, but i would abstain from dairy for a few weeks and try again later.
my big one is dairy sensitive..i'm honestly not sure if my little one is because i've just avoided it so long...but her reaction, when she was younger, was to puke everywhere and inconsolable crying....now it's eczema and upset stomach (therefore, crying).
How old is/are your LO and/or bump? 15.5 months, and bjl is a few days shy of 3 years
Recent milestones, new behaviors, funny stories? the little one talks SO much. it's adorable..he says the funniest things that just turn him into a little human. it's crazy. you can ask him if he pooped, and he'll say "mm-mm" and shake his head no...ask him which one he wants to eat, and he'll say "this" (in chinese) and point...ask him if he farted..he'll make a farting noise and start cracking up.....is this what having a boy is like?? lol.
V-Day plans w/ LO(s)? no plans..growing up, my parents bought me a dolls on occasion, but not every year..i'm not really sure what you do for your kids for vday.
Pics?
FB repeat. this is from bjl's birthday party over the weekend..my nephew (and my dad) is in town and we invited about 3 people over. i have been too stinkin' tired lately..costco cake and dollar store decorations purchased the day before.
Meh, if it is a wart, it most likely won't hurt to leave it. Treatment is liquid nitrogen and that blisters and burns. If it were an infected splinter it would get worse and she would complain. Don't hurry, maybe bring it up at her well visit.
except that her well visit wouldn't be until october-ish? if it grows/changes, i would take her in..or if it doesn't go away after a few months.
