We all need to stop thinking of GBCN as TN 2.0. It's not and that was the whole point, yes?
I think this sums up why I'm eyerolling the idea of MM subboards.
It's a new day, yo! Time to branch out.
To be fair, I do post on Drinking while parenting since it is largely my former BMB. However, the MM parenting board has a very different vibe that I like better. I have noticed a lot of people posting on the GBCB boards as well as MM moms.
Of course the people who voted it in are going to see it as a good idea. It's good to see that segregation is alive and well. As for the baby boards they were crated before the tb boards were added. So that's the difference.
Was crated a typo or not because I'm LOLing over here?

Just how the fuck many things are there to SAY about makeup? And it's fascinating to me that one needs to associate oneself with just the right element for these discussions to be satisfactory.
I have a lot to say about makeup, but I'll talk to anyone about it. Even my husband, and all my great info is completely lost on him.
You really can't comprehend that each board has a different vibe? Most, if not all of the MM makeup twirlies who have tried to post on F&B found it to be non-responsive or slow.
Again, if it was non-responsive and slow, why didn't you all move your discussion over to that board? Instead of creating a whole new one?
Well the name was first coined by a group of MMers that started chatting with each other on twitter. But it really became known on MM when a bunch of MMers started a blog called twirliegirls to discuss makeup.
They no longer keep the blog active because it was too much work.

Very late to the game and only read 1/2 way through (yeah, i know) but I see why the sub-board is annoying but maybe I am the only person who logs on and goes straight to "new topics" and chooses to join a discussion based on the subject line, not even knowing what board it's on? This could be because my "homeboard" on TN was my local, but I am all up in everyone's business on this forum...
BUT F&Bers ARE DUMB! WE NO WANNA TALK TO DEM! YOU CANNA MAKE US!!!!
I guess I'm the only one who took this whole proboards thing as our change to mingle and change things up a bit. I should stop posting on those bumptype boards then, hmm?
I'm all over a bunch of boards, too. I figured this was a great time to mingle. Problem is, I forget where my random posts are, so it ends up being a bit of a post and run. Oops.
Me too. I just post by *New Topics, and go back to profile to see where I posted hah. Upside is I read alot, downside is I feel kinda "homeless".
You guys know you can put all the sub-board posts in the main board or hide the sub-boards completely as part of your account settings, right? The boards don't have to be separate from MM if you don't want them to be. And, if you want the makeup posts filtered, they can be. Everyone wins. Because truly, if you get rid of the sub-board, the makeup posts are going to go back onto MM's main board, not BS, they always do.
All I keep reading is, "I want to talk to my friends, and I don't want any outsiders butting in."
I definitely never said that, not sure where you're getting that we don't want others to butt in. Where did I say we don't want others butting in? If that were the case then we would do what What's cooking is doing and made the board private and have to approve people to join.
Then why create another board to talk to each other and not use an existing board, that purportedly is "slow"? Take it over, make it your own.
