I think guns should be illegal to the same degree as in Japan. Hunting only and oversight on guns and ammo if you are hunting.
Ha. I share the same POV. I debated my entire PreAPEuropean history class including the teacher (in Texas mind you) that guns should be housed by the police and that if you want to use your weapons for hunting/sport you should have to check them out. I dont know if I will ever be comfortable with guns.

I feel like I've learned so much about the board by reading through this thread. y4m, I'm a newb on a mission to get old posters to come and post more on CEP. Please consider it.
I can't think of any political beliefs that would put me in the minority on this board. I'm a pretty standard liberal. Even my more extreme beliefs like my dislike of cars and like of taxes have already been mentioned by others.

I don't see myself doing this but good luck to you.
I should have been more specific on kids at weddings. I was more anti "brides getting every damn little thing they want because it's their day" and that conversation involved letting kids be at a ceremony due to extenuating circumstances. But Sou and a few others fought me on this, and now I will never discuss weddings again.

I was at a wedding last weekend and there were kids and one got nekkid during the reception because her tutu was itchy. That kid was cute. ANd funny. The kid of the person sitting next to me was not.
LOL! I have a couple of little flower girls to be in my house for a wedding in 2 weeks and frankly I'm dreading it.

No restrictions on abortion. I simply can't believe people would reach month 8 and just for funsies change their minds so that's a red herring. I don't agree with "viability" as the line because that does not equate to qol
I think those who open carry in target or Kroger (and probably concealed carry) likely have a mental health/cognitive issue to be that paranoid and to think the gun will create safety.

I don't particularly care about having a deficit
I'm really anti woo
Gmos are fine by me. Not because I'm pro "chemical" but because it's actually safer than other generic alteration like cross breeding or xray mods (how we get "natural" grains like triticale)
I'm not on the bandwagon of hating corporations/rich people or thinking they are evil with greedy motives. I think business and profit are good things.
I'm not into "wealth redistribution" when I hear it as some kind of Robin Hood thing. I am into government assistance for people who need it without things like work requirements, drug tests, etc. I don't think the idea of people potentially abusing it justifies those kinds of restrictions.
I'm really undecided on a lot of government fiscal issues, but certain things just don't sit well with me like estate tax or raising the minimum wage- because the estate tax seems like doubly taxing that money and I don't see how raising minimum wage doesn't just increase the cost of living. I do see how minimum wage is NOT a living wage and I'm not espousing bootstraps as the solution, I'm just not sure what is the solution.
I'm fairly pro MLM. I used to be extremely anti-MLM until I got involved with the one I am part of and have seen the products work for people and the business work for people. Maybe my MLM is a magical unicorn but I don't think so. That said, there are people in them with extremely shady practices, and there are some that are flat out scams. That doesn't mean they all are. I hate the phrase pyramid scheme because those actually are illegal and not what my company or other similar ones are.
I'm not anti red shirting, also not anti charter schools, also not anti Waldorf education.
I'm sure there are more because there are a lot of threads that I'm not comfortable commenting on. I'm uncomfortable with arguing and debate.

OMG, I forgot that thread!! I think I might have started it? I WANT TO READ IT AGAIN, SOMEONE HELP ME!
"Not gonna lie; I kind of keep expecting you to post one day that you threw down on someone who clearly had no idea that today was NOT THEIR DAY." ~dontcallmeshirley

I just don't get why you would even want your kid at a wedding? I know the last wedding we went to, we got a babysitter for. I got some reassurances from S&B ladies that that didn't mean I was a bad mom and I had the BEST time with out the kid. .. Apparently all I cared about at that wedding was me and my good time ;P
I'm of the mindset that if you bring your child to a wedding they need to sit & be quiet through the ceremony. If they aren't then remove them & yourself immediately.
I also don't want your child running around a restaurant.
Yes, this. I'm a parent and I get when people get pissed about young kids being allowed to run rampant in a restaurant when they wanted a nice dinner out.

My kid provided an excellent excuse to duck out of a never-ending Catholic ceremony last month. Bride asked that I bring her btw.
Mh, mama and I nearly rock paper scissored it to see who got to leave.
