If someone/ someone's want to look into flying into Baltimore I'm close and can pick up and host a night if needed. As of now we plan on heading into DC on Saturday, heading right to packet pickup and then to the hotel.
I was just looking at the website and packet pick up is NOT AT ALL convenient.
Looks like they're having the expo at National Harbor which is not exactly accessible via public transit and also not very close to the start/finish (where people would like to stay).
Hopefully, they'll arrange some kind of shuttle from metro situation.

Yes, I was not happy when I learned about this. I read somewhere that they're planning to have a shuttle from a metro station.
They said there will be multiple shuttles, but yeah annoying. I usually send my husband to packet pick up on Friday for DC races since he can hop on the metro. Not this time I hate expo's and try to avoid them whenever possible.
Yeah - I saw this and figured I might have to hire a car since the metro doesn't go there. I guess they are having it there because it is some kind of conference facility, but wow, inconvenient! I will GLADLY accept a lift from anyone who will take me on Saturday. Payment in champagne.

We will have a car too. We may go to the expo and then head to the hotel if it's easy to drive to the expo. Otherwise we may take the metro from the hotel and then shuttle it. I can drive you and you don't even need to pay me.

A while back, I read an article/interview with the MCM race director where he talked about why they moved the expo to National Harbor. He said they really wanted to keep having the expo at the convention center, but MCM kept getting bumped for bigger events that would bring in more money. They were supposed to have the expo at the convention for the past 5 years, but they got bumped 3 of those years and had to move to the DC Armory, which wasn't big enough. He thought they would keep getting kicked out. He wanted to have a guaranteed space for the expo for the next few years, and National Harbor guaranteed MCM the space. It makes sense, although I wish they could've found a more convenient location.

I haven't seen MCM confirm it yet. I received that link in an email just this afternoon. And you are right about it being a disaster. I hope that something changes between now and race day. What a mess
