We were listening to Hamilton in the car today and my three year old yelled, "wait! is this the sit down john song!?" I had played her some scenes from the movie "1776" a few weeks ago because I had asked the kids to sit down 5000 times and ended up singing "sit down, john, sit down john, for god sakes, john, sit down!"
So totally twy sentwa but my toddler is making connections between two revolutionary musicals, lololol. Harvard, here we come!
You know whose voice is just perfection? Well, other than Philippa Soo. Chris Jackson. I go back and forth on if he or Leslie Odom has the more beautiful voice. In the end I just love them both.

Leslie Odom has the best songs in it.
Agreed. CJ definitely has presence. I love him going back and forth with Charles Lee. I'm really hoping he and Daveed are there when I see it in June.
It takes a little over 3 hours to get to NY so I could probably make a 8pm showing if i won the lottery. I would be solo so I might need one of you to accompany me.
This is just even more reason to move to CT. I would enter every day!
I started reading the Hamilton bio by Chernow last night. On page 2 there was a reference to an elderly Eliza gazing at a bust of Andrew "as if she could never be satisfied."
Wrong sister, but cue the music in my head nonetheless!
He was driving a car and I was lying down in his backseat. He was an uber driver? Taxi driver? I don't know.
Anyway, he was playing Alexander Hamilton and when it got to my favorite part, I sat up and was all, "Just you waaaaaaiiiiit!"
Then LMM was like, how did you know the words? Do you have the Hamiltome?
I said, well I read the liner notes of the CD.
Then the dream was over.*
*Note: while most people have exciting dreams about using lightsabers to slay dragons or crashing planes, my dreams are about standing in line at a bank. Basically the most boring dreams you could ever dream of.
So I played all the recommended songs for DD on the ride to daycare today. She had her Abby Cadabby doll with her and informed me that Abby really liked the songs and was dancing to them. LOL I asked her if she liked them to and she said yes. Its a start. Then she said I really like the one with "Da da da dat da dat da da da da ya da." Little psychopath.

I had a dream Wednesday night that LMM and I were stuck in Malaysia due to a flight delay. The airline was short on hotel rooms so we had to share. I was slightly bummed that he was a perfect gentleman and even more bummed that he didn't leave his phone number so we could be BFFs. And the bastard got out on an earlier flight than I did!

I keep wondering what gbcn would look like if the wives of the Founding Fathers were all live and posting on here.
For instance, I could picture Eliza Hamilton posting about the Reynolds pamphlets. And then later, if she found out that Alexander was going to duel Burr after everything that had already happened, she would be all: "WTF, DH!"

Or Martha? "George is retiring soon. He keeps talking about sitting out under his trees. He better not mess up my weekday routine...."
I've been dying to share this - Outlander spoilers ahead (book 8). Carl is watching the show with me, so I've been trying to shield him from spoilers.
Yesterday I was reading a funny line to him and I said "there's this French guy," and he says "Lafayette"? It happened to be Percy, but he totally thought he was making an absurd joke, and I just had to cover "no, duh". I'm paranoid now he's going to see Lafayette over my shoulder. He wouldn't have given it a second glance before Hamilton.

Outlander and Hamilton combine. I love it! Two of my favorite things.
I love when other things/people I love collide with Hamilton. Case in point -
Also also.... "you punched the bursar" gets a groan everytime. I really hope Burr looks at the audience with the sassy "get it?" I have it my head. When i first listened to it, l LOLed and buckled up for the rest of the ride.
Ok, it's been two weeks of me trying to work this out ... I don't get it ...
Anyone want to explain to an immigrant (coming up from the bottom)?
“With sorrow—for this Court, but more, for the many millions of American women who have today lost a fundamental constitutional protection—we dissent,”

Wait, is it just because it's a play on "Burr, sir"? or is there more to it?
