Wait, is it just because it's a play on "Burr, sir"? or is there more to it?
This is what I thought it was, because of the way he pauses between "Aaron...Burr, sir?"
I LOL bc of the play on Burr, sir. The first opening lines of that are Burr, sir.. Burr sir, it's a blur, sir and then "you punched the bursur"..pause Yes. Can anyone with the Hamiltome (mine has not arrived) point out of there is anything more too this?
No yelling of Lafayette but a lot of cheering. ::fans self::
How was the rest of the show? Was it everything you ever dreamed?
it was AMAZING. seriously. I spent the entire show tech-geeking out at the lights and set. TWO TURNTABLES. TWO!!!! and the lights during Hurricane.... the scene changes were seamless and the choreography, OMGOMGOMG. I died. I fucking cried like a baby to H's amusement.
oh, and the cast was fucking awesome. LOj cracked during one of the numbers b/c George was fucking with him. I love seeing that kind of thing.
the energy in the room was high. the crowd (up in our section) was a slightly better mix than I had prepared myself for. there were a fair amount of the oldz in the audience but a good number of POC and young-ish people there too.
ETA: I found it amazingly awesome that Angelica sang the line "god I hope you're satisfied" right in AH's face. loved it.
and there was real fire in Burn. it gave me heart palpitations as a stage manager.
ask specific questions and i'll answer. my mind is still mush.
Will Daveed Diggs marry me? Circle Y or N.
Jk
How awesome is Wait For It live? What are they doing on stage during that song?
I'm comfortable saying that you'll have to battle to the death for that. he was unfuckingbelievable.
ok so the turntables are one inside the other and they rotate either together, separately or one at a time, depending on the cue (think kind of like a bullseye). the lights are set up so that that the inner turntable is lit normally (with a brighter spot) but the outer is basically hurricane waters swirling around. my memory is a little foggy because I had sensory overload with that. between the set and the lights and the music I couldn't take it all in.
ETA: I TOLD YOU MY MIND WAS MUSH!wait for it had LOj down center in a spotlight. perfect.
LMM just won a 2016 Pulitzer Prizes for Drama for Hamilton. Is this breaking?
I almost squealed outloud when I read this earlier. I'm so happy for him! I think I saw it's like only the 9th musical ever to win this, not sure if that's right though.
eta - is it right: Nine musicals have won the Pulitzer Prize for Drama, roughly one per decade from the 1930s to the 2010s. They are: George and Ira Gershwin's Of Thee I Sing (1932)¹, Rodgers and Hammerstein's South Pacific (1950), Bock & Harnick's Fiorello! (1960), Frank Loesser's How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying (1962), Marvin Hamlisch, Ed Kleban, James Kirkwood, and Nicholas Dante's A Chorus Line (1976), Stephen Sondheim's and James Lapine's Sunday in the Park with George (1985), Jonathan Larson's Rent (1996), Brian Yorkey and Tom Kitt's Next to Normal (2010), and Lin-Manuel Miranda's Hamilton (2016).
We were looking at tix last night for june. They are insane but i really don't care at this point. Now i just fear getting screwed by a resaler.

From what I read, ticketmaster is the most reliable. Stubhub not as much. I bought from ticketmaster for June and don't anticipate any issues. I did read somewhere that people would post photos of their tickets online, like on FB, and wouldn't blur out the barcode so their tickets were getting stolen that way and resold on Stubhub.

I got ours through Ticket Liquidator. it was recommended to me by a friend and aside from the insane fee on top of the ticket price, I have no complaints.

Hm, I bought ours on Stubhub. How can I make sure they're legit?
I'm sure they're fine, I don't know how you'd be able to make sure they are legit before you go.
It is just me or do the last few songs seemed rush....like damn i need to finish this up.

I think that is intentional. To convey the 'write like you are running out of time' feel, the pressure and the feel of a ticking clock with each minute meaning one less left that they give to Hamilton as a motivation throughout the play. Also to emphasize the moment it pauses and slows during the duel.
So not to brag or anything but last night DD was singing "Im not throwing away my shot, I'm just like my country, I'm gibberish. But she is 2 so that is OK.
I put it on in the car today and she was singing along. Then when it was over she was all I want Let it Go. But whatever, I'll take em where I get em.
