My sister, BIL, and 12 year old niece are coming to visit tomorrow. I want to introduce them to the wonders of Hamilton but I'm worried my sister will clutch her pearls over all the swearing.

I'm usually pretty pearl clutchy when it comes to DS and language but I'm ok with him listening to most of it. Most of the swearing is going much too fast for him to catch and in places where it's not I sing slightly cleaner substitute line over it or just turn down to volume for a line. The only major exception is "Say No To This" because the entire song is just a little too mature for him.
Working on C to like this musical. Yesterday I put Dear Theodosia on in the car, and she was happy to sing "Someday, someday," and then wanted to hear it again! But then she asked for another song, and said, "No, not Ham'ton!"

I have failed as a parent. DS refuses to listen to Hamilton on the way to school in the mornings and claims that it's "too embarrassing". What the hell do you know about embarrassment, tiny boy? I'm not the one who drops her pants at the park or has informed a church lady that she doesn't have a penis. Sit down, quit your bitching, and give it up for America's favorite fighting Frenchman.
LOVE this. But I am kind of dying that LMM had to read the lyrics.
I wonder if he just didn't want to mess them up since he knew this would be allllll over the internet. lol
I think so. J Hud read the lyrics as well at The Color Purple tribute. I think it was probably emotional for them too, so they just didn't want to fuck it up.
I finally had a Hamilton dream! I auditioned for a community production of it (lol), and was cast as Hercules Mulligan. I was a little disappointed when I woke up that I am not actually going to portray Hercules Mulligan.
Braaa Braaa I am Hercules Mulligan. Now this is a good dream.

I wish there was more about Rochambeau in Hamilton. He is my favorite fighting frenchman. I also live right off "rochambeau" street and there is a monument to Colonel Rochambeau right by my house because he set up camp there one night.

I was looking at rentals in RI yesterday and saw a Rochambeau Ave. Definite selling point.
Here's a picture I took of his statue in DC recently.

Are you moving or coming to visit PVD?! The little monument on Rochambeau is pretty sad in PVD, we need to spruce it up.

We're most likely moving to New England when I finish my degree, which is still a few years away. We were looking at CT because that's where my dad is but Providence is also a contender. Just trying to get a feel for jobs and cost of living.
