“On any of those rare occasions when you get a glimpse of someone wondering whether Hamilton might not be the greatest thing that ever happened in 50,000 years of culture do you find yourself stunned, surprised, or fearful for the heretic’s safety?”
I will always remember Lin-Manuel Miranda as Frank Flapman on Seasame Street. Even back then, his stuff was fun to watch.
I basically love him forever due to his wedding reception video.
I will have to get on this listening to Hamilton on Amazon Prime thing. I never got to see In the Heights and kind of wish I had. Is Lin-Manuel still performing in this?
lol that might have been what was playing in the background when I was writing that response.
And then the line "Corruption's such an old song that we can sing along in harmony, and nowhere is it stronger than in Albany," plays in my mind FOREVER after someone says non stop.
Pretty much any word uttered IRL that is in the soundtrack gets followed by the next lines in my head.
We have a conference rooms named Lafayette, jefferson, and hamilton in my office (i am in dc...these have beem named this way forever) and my office mate frequently is on the phone about them so i entertain myself all day when he says them.

“With sorrow—for this Court, but more, for the many millions of American women who have today lost a fundamental constitutional protection—we dissent,”

LOL! Not overhyped.
Who said this?

From this article that popped up in my newsfeed the second I start talking about Hamilton. lol.

Amazing!! He looks so good with the short hair.
I love him with short hair. I was actually startled to see he usually has it long. I love this video so hard, I saw it a few years ago and it is one of those videos I watch when I just need a smile.
The rage is STILL real. Even with a parody, I'm just RAGING.
SPIT.
IT.
OUT.
Plus since it's Leslie Odom Jr's Aaron Burr eating the sandwich, we know he still would have been to busy debating between Jam or plain peanut butter to be eating the sandwich when he gets the call.

You all are making me really want to buy the CD so I can listen in my car with DS1. That is right, a CD because my car is 101 years old and only has a CD player (it had a cassette, but DH bought me an upgraded stereo for our first Christmas together!)

heyjude - I get where you're coming from. I didn't listen to Radiohead until a couple years ago because my guy friends in college were just TOO into them. Then I heard the choral cover of Creep in the trailer for The Social Network and just had to know what that gorgeous song was. *facepalm*
Now, I will say that I prefer In the Heights because I like Latin beats and more melodies. But Hamilton is addicting. And it legit made me cry the first time I listened to the soundtrack. And that was only passively listening while at work. Yes, I cried at work over events that occurred 200 years ago. It is really good.
And my favorite is Lafayette. And King George just bc I <3 Jonathan Groff.
I avoided Hamilton for months while all my friends obsessed over it; then I watched the Grammy performance and was hooked. I love it.
I got two Hamilton references in a conversation the other day and was very proud of myself.
Someone asked about original cast, Jonathan Groff leaves in a week I think. I've read that most people think the main cast will stick around until after the Tonys and then start to leave as the summer goes on.
