Is there a reason the same actor plays both Lafayette and Jefferson?
Because he's awesome. No, really, several actors play two characters, one in the first act and another in the second. Jefferson isn't in the 1st Act and Lafayette isn't in the 2nd, so it makes sense for one actor to do both instead of having two actors.
It doesn't surprise me that lmm would do that intentionally. Makes sense. I didn't even realize that laurens and Phillip were the same actor too, dueling and losing both times. Interesting.
This is really random. I've realized something the deeper I have gone into Hamilton fandom but... LMM is the spitting image of my ex BF from college. Sounds like him, looks like him, same age, he is also a composer and did musicals. It is freaking bizarre. Sometimes I have to go wait, is THAT him? (It's not.) He should probably audition to be the next Hamilton.

We got tshirts and some drinks. My heart is pounding out of my chest. No celebs so far that i have seen and we didn't see anyone come in (some chick in front of me in the merch line had a selfie with dd...beeatch).
We just got the phone warning. I am going to per my pants.
It really is unlike any theater performance I have ever seen. Dd dropped the mic during CB #1. The story is just developed so much more through the production. It. Is. So. Fast. They move things on and off that stage at lightening speed. It will be full of furniture and then nothing in like 5 sec. They use every inch of the stage and the turntable. Fake slow motion, freezing, lighting, the choreography....you don't even know where to look sometimes. One Last Time and Satisfied were unbelievable live. Dd was one fire too during Guns and Ship and washington on your side. The new Eliza and Burr did not disappoint either. And while it would have been great to see LMM, Javier was fantastic. I am blabbing and not scratching the surface but it is an amazing as made to be.
You guys, Wonder is one of my favorite books ever. If you haven't read it, you need to. It's a children's book, but absolutely breathtakingly awesome.
So something we could read with our kids, then watch because they love him too?
How old are your kids?
I think the target age is 5th grade. It's longer, so something you'd read over multiple nights and would probably provoke good conversations about bullying.

I loved it.
4 and 6, so maybe I'd wait a bit. But I can already tell bullying is starting fo DD . Dumb summer camp with kids up to 5th grade.

Sounds awesome!!! I'm so, so excited to see the stage set up - I've heard the two turntables on the stage are really amazing.
Awesome about the new Burr and Eliza! Who is playing Burr in the interim while Dixon finishes up Shuffle Along? I'm so, so excited to see Javier! :-) Did you feel he was a sexier Hamilton? Ha ha :-)

I agree with all of this. The mic drop was amazing and you could tell DD was having such a great time. He would giggle and seem totally embarrassed every time he would get these long applauses right when he would come out on stage. He blew some kisses towards the audience for the love. They pushed him out at the end several times for applause and it felt never ending. My hands hurt so much from clapping. I had tears during the first three songs just out of pure happiness and amazement. I'm still on a high from seeing it.
Sydney was great as Burr. I haven't seen LOJ, obviously, but Sydney came off as a very sexy Burr and it doesn't hurt that he's hot AF. We didn't get to see Lexi as Eliza but Carleigh did well. We both thought she came into the role and her voice, the longer the show went on. She does a lot of the Hamilton snapchat so when I saw the playbill I was all, I know her! Javier was great. Definitely nothing negative to say there. I also see why he gets called the 'sexier Hamilton'. Say No To This had me feeling some kind of way about him after it was over. The lighting/stage was so amazing during hurricane. I like the song, but I loved the performance of the song. Rory was so damn good and really hams it up with the audience. He gets a lot of laughs. It's crazy how much he sounds like Groff.
Chris Jackson and Renee both blew us away (I know). I looked over at my H after satisfied and he was just mouthing 'wow' over and over lol. One Last Time and Satisified got huge applause.
I kept hearing, 'don't get seats all the way to the side'. Welp, that's what we had. Row B seats 25 and 27 in the left rear mezz and they were great. We didn't miss a thing. They really don't lie when they say there's no bad seat in the house. I thought they were perfect.
Sorry this is all just a lot of rambling but it was such a great show. I'm so glad we did this and DD was totally worth all of the craziness. Now off to explore NYC for a day before we head back home!
I have no other live Hamilton to compare to except the 19,000 times i have listened to the soundtrack. To me, songs were spot on and i didn't notice anything so so different that it took away anything.
And the Reynold's Pamphlet is a riot. Rory as King is great and while the part is only 10 minutes long in the whole show he milks the hell out of it. (Awesome, wow).
Seeing Satisfied really illustrates how torn angelica was introducing eliza to a. Ham. And that whole little love triangle was more developed.
Again...so fast. The ensemble and even main characters are just flying through that stage.
