We have 2 adults and three children in 1100 square feet. It's tight, but laid out well so it doesn't feel nearly as tight as it sounds like it would/should. We plan to expand a bit, but are unlikely to go as big as 2000 square feet.

1 full-time adult, 1 half-time adult, 1 pug, 1 cat. 1100 sqft. I think. It's not bad. I also WFH so I have one room designated solely as my office, it gets tight with visitors.
2 adults, 2 dogs and 2 cats. Our house is ~1150 Sq ft. We have a second bedroom that we never go in to store stuff... it wold be unnecessary space if we had more storage elsewhere.

2 adults, 2 kids, 2 dogs and we have 3500 finished sq. ft., but we use our basement as though it were finished and if you add that then its somewhere between 4500-5000 sq. ft.
I think our house is about 1400sqft and we have two large dogs, two adults, one child. Our home in PA was over 1600sqft. We do ok in the smaller house but I can't wait to upgrade.
