mcmel - I die. Those raccoons are so freaking cute. I watched a video someone posted on Facebook multiple times that was a Mommy raccoon with her babies climbing a tree home. <3 All of our state parks here state something like "I'm cute but I bite and have rabies" with a pic of a raccoon.
They definitely don't make good pets. They're sweet while they're little, but just feeding and light play with them I get scratches ALL over my hands, arms, and face. They're constantly curious and wanting to go through your crap. It's basically like a toddler that never naps. I love rehabbing them, but I don't see the appeal in getting one as a pet at all.

If we were to have 3, it would be too tight mainly because it's 3 beds and the girls' rooms are pretty small to share. We aren't planning on another so we may stay here indefinitely.
We waver between upgrading or staying and having our mortgage paid off by the time they hit college.
2 adults, 2 small dogs, 1750 st. Soon to be one additional small person, and we'll be moving to a larger place this summer, though I'm not sure of the square footage.

"I was thinking about getting off on demand, but it sounds like I should be glad that I didn't"
2,200 sq ft + pool house 2 adults, 2 kids, 0 pets right now.
It's plenty of space. The only thing that stresses me out is that the downstairs full bath is the only bath on that floor. And one day both kids will be teenagers living downstairs and they'll share it PLUS it's the bathroom we all use down here. And the vanity is black granite so it 100% looks like all hell ALL of the time except for 2 minutes after I wipe it down. I am certain I will go epic momshrew banshee on the kids more than once for making it a messy hell hole.
Moral: do not get black solid surface countertops in any bathroom non-fastidious adults will be using.
However... when I was married we went as small as 1100 Sq.ft, 2 adults 2 kids, and I was comfortable. I'm not someone who needs giant spaces. As long as the kitchen isn't tiny, I'm good.
2 adults, 2 cats, 1 largish dog. 1060sf. We are considering adding another dog too, since we are apparently insane lol
I grew up in a house that was only 850sf though (mom, dad, large dog, me and sister) so I am used to small spaces. My parents and sister still live there, with 3 dogs
