1200 square feet - we have 2 adults, 2 kids 8 and 4, and a very inactive cat. I think we'll need to finish the basement as the girls get older, but right now it's great.
2 adults 3 little dogs 1400 sq ft It's more space than we need for sure! We bought it thinking we would have kids but now that that is not the plan we are thinking of selling and getting something smaller.
For me, it's less about square footage and more about rooms and configuration. We currently live in a 3 bedroom house with one living area, 1300 sf. There are 2 adults, 1 child, and 1 dog. We want another kid. We are planning on moving soon and want to add another bedroom and living area. I expect we'll end up with 2500-3000 sf, but 2000 would be fine with me as long as we could get another bedroom and living space.
I help out a rehabber friend. I've had them a little less than a month and they'll be released in August.
Big girl-
Little girl-
OMG How cute they are! Do they live inside the house with you and the dogs and cats? Do they all get along? Are the raccoons caged? So many questions!
They're so sweet. They live in my ready room in a cage. I let them out to play 3-4 times a day. They've met the dogs and cats and everyone gets along, but we don't want them to get comfortable around dogs for when they're released.
Currently: Two adults, one child, one dog in 1350 square feet. It's fine but would feel tight with a second kid (it's a 2/1.5).
We are moving this summer to a 3000 sq. ft. house that's a 4/4.5. Bigger than we need, but that includes a finished basement that could be rented out as an apartment or be an in-law suite.

2 adults, 1 kid 2300 sq ft. Up until last year we were in 1150 sq ft which would have been fine if MH didn't work from home. We bought the apartment above us and converted to a duplex. It's a little too big for us, but we're getting used to it b
Welp 5 people and 11 pets but 9 of the pets live in a fish tank (they ALL count, ok? 6 fish, 2 frogs, 1 snail and 2 cats). 1900 sf plus basement. It is fine. I would have an extra cat or a dog in this space for sure (if my H agreed).
First house with my exh, child and dog was 848 sqft finished on the main level. The basement was where the laundry room and extra storage. It was the same as I grew up in but with my parents, brother and no dog. Perfect for me
2 adults, 1 cat, 2380 sq ft. BUT we both work from home, so this is really two offices as well. ;-) Way more space than we need but if not for IF we would have some rooms filled.
We have 2 adults, 2 kids, 2 dogs, one cat, 2 50 gallon fish tanks, and one 10 gallon fosh tank. We have about 1200 square feet up and 1200 square feet down. We really only use about 1400 square feet total though.
mcmel- I die. Those raccoons are so freaking cute. I watched a video someone posted on Facebook multiple times that was a Mommy raccoon with her babies climbing a tree home. <3 All of our state parks here state something like "I'm cute but I bite and have rabies" with a pic of a raccoon.
