She was 87 lbs, had burns all over her body, was branded, and her hair is gone. I am sure there is more to the story, but I have trouble doubting someone that suffered to that degree. I almost do not want to know the rest of it, what we know so far is just sickening.
People are fucked up and nothing surprises me. Am I the only person who always seems to click on the horrible, grotesque news stories that most outlets don't want to report? The ones that never make front page news because they are just too damn much?
It is definitely a strange story and I would hope no one would lie about being tortured. I hope that if this story is true they find the people responsible.

I've followed it a bit, but like another pp said, I'm not sure I really want to know what happened. But she was so badly injured when they found her that I just can't wrap my brain around this being some kind of set up where she was part of it. Those are people that go missing for a couple of weeks then show up unharmed on someone's doorstep. I believe her and do not think it's a hoax at all, but will not be jaw-dropping shocked if it ends up being one. Kind of like I'm surprised-but-not-surprised when the husband's the killer. And he seems to have passed a lie detector test about this situation. Very strange story, indeed.
The whole thing is bizarre. With the other story in the news about the serial killer, you can kind of see how that happened. For this, there's no rhyme or reason.
There's a racist blog post from a white supremacist website with her name on it. It's from 2003.
Her ex-husband told the media it was a fake blog post written by a classmate who didn't like her. That certainly makes me wonder what exactly happened that someone hates her *so* much they supposedly joined a website for skinheads and wrote an entire blogpost pretending to be her.

People can be vengeful, but damn.
Yeah, this is where I am. No one deserves that but there is more to this story and it is very odd. I'm interested to watch this play out. Her Pinterest is bizarre. Any comment on that being fake, too?
The police chief on GMA said they had ruled out that it was a hoax. The old FBI person they had on thought that there were likely more people involved - due to her injuries, etc., that it was unlikely just these two women. The whole thing is just weird.

I wonder why would they think that? She was 100 pounds when she went missing - I think 2 women could probably do a lot of damage.
Like papiercherri, I do think there's some messed up people out there and the kidnapped-tortured story doesn't sound at all strange to me, even with no motive. The main reason it does sound odd to me is that they actually let her go.
There was a report today that the husband came out and talked to the media about her condition without the police knowing. Apparently he released details the police didn't want released to the public. This story is really odd.
I definitely need an underwear holster! I wouldn't have to worry about panty lines anymore, just pistol lines.
I do think she was taken and tortured. I'll be following this story. Her pinterest boards are scary. I have spent a lot of time thinking about the impact on her kids. I hope they are too young to understand. I read that the husband hadn't told them she was missing, which I think was smart.
Also, completely not the point, but if my DH ever refers to me as "our girl," we're going to fight.

I thought this was super odd too.
For some reason this really doesn't sit well with me. I feel the husband knows more than he is letting on and he is doing all of this to cover his ass.
If it happened remotely like she describes, that sounds like drug cartel action. Are the local skinheads messing with a drug cartel? And her husband is involved? So they kidnap and torture one of the wives to send a message? They let her go so there isn't any ambiguity about what happened?
(the last thing I read this morning was about the Zetas so that is where my mind goes. I've had U visa clients who were targeted by drug gangs when they thought the person were interfering. The victims were undocumented immigrants so the assailants thought they could act with impunity.)

I could believe that a sick guy sent out two of his minion women to snatch another for him to play with. It's very "criminal minds" but I my wouldn't surprise me. I'm glad she's alive.

skinheads aka Aryan Nation are mixed up w the drug cartels - meth distribution.

you think cartels.
i was thinking sex trade/swinger shit
It might be. But if it's sex trade, why is she talking about the women involved? And not sex? And why did they dump her alive rather than killing her if she wasn't working out for them? Dumped alive sounds like sending a message.
(If she's lying about who was involved, I think she was either partially complicit or knows her assailants)

I believe she was kidnapped and tortured against her will, but I do think there is more to the story, there is motive and I'm pretty sure there is some sort of connection to her attackers, even if she didn't know them.

I thought I had read that the H passed a lie detector test, but I agree that something doesn't seem right with him. Reading the details of his statement about her, they are pretty graphic. Not sure why he felt the public needed to know all of that information. I don't know what I would do in his shoes (and hope I never know), but I can't imagine sharing that kind of information like that. It does sound like he's trying to cover his ass in some way.

Regarding the possible skinhead connection - I saw someone point out (on Reddit?) that in the GMA interview the husband used the term "subhuman" in reference to people questioning if this was a hoax and that is a term also used by skinheads.
