I tried the new Nyx foundation and was worried I wouldn't like it because a lot of reviews said it was really thin and didn't give great coverage, but I was able to build it up to a nice medium coverage. It kept me matte until around 2pm and then one small blot and I was good for the rest of the day. If I want it to be full coverage I will add one drop of the cover fx drops. I am impressed by my first impression.

Y'all, seriously.
Every time I buy something at Ulta, they get my bonus points wrong. Every. Single. Time. They always somehow multiply the bonus points wrong, so I have to remember to check online after I leave the store, then email them to ask for the points.
I'm starting to think they do it on purpose to intentionally shortchange people points.

Do you guys ever feel bad returning makeup just because you don't like it?
I'm thinking of returning my Burberry Pale Barley eyeshadow. I bought it online, it performs beautifully but the color is just not right for me. And for $29, I hate to keep it around knowing that I don't love it.

Yeah I never have. If it is a performance issue, maybe that would be one thing, but taking something back to Sephora because it wasn't my color... I feel like I should have done better due diligence before buying. I don't judge people who do and I think it is great when companies have these kinds of return policies, but I don't see myself ever doing it.

I usually don't unless i have some kind of reaction to the product. But I am having a hard time justifying the $30 eyeshadow, lol. Maybe I will hang on to it, it might be more of a spring or summer color for me.

I don't think they really know what they are doing with their points. A few weeks before Christmas they randomly put 2k points in my account. I don't know why as I had just cashed in my 2k points. I'm not complaining, but I was totally confused. My mom and sister got some nice bonus Christmas gifts this year;-)
I had lunch months of moisturizer samples all lined up for my no spend. And then I got ultas Lancôme 5x bonus. And just bought all my normal stuff. But I have mentally committed to using my samples before I open the new stuff. Ugh....

I don't feel bad. If the color isn't right, it isn't right.

Occasionally and usually at MAC. I'm not sure if it's because Sephora and Ulta are so easy going but sometimes I just want to say "I don't know why I hated the color when I got home but I did." I've only returned a few things there and I hate it.
In your case, no I wouldn't feel bad.
Speaking of returning things, I didn't realize you couldn't return to Colourpop. The weekend warrior palette is pretty eh, but it looks like I'm stuck. The ultra satin lip colors are great though so it wasn't a total loss.

For people who use it cosmetics bye bye pores, do you use the pressed compact or loose powder? I have the compact and it's almost gone and I'm not sure if I should re-buy it or try the loose powder.

I've done it a couple times. I don't feel guilty. The prices build in the fact that the stores that carry this stuff have good return policies. I roll my eyes a the people on the Sephora boards who will order say, a half dozen lipsticks on the day they are released, then return the four or five that they don't like. That makes me wild. It's so wasteful and selfish. But returning a one off purchase because it doesn't work for you? That's what the return policies are for.

Oh yeah, I would say that is definitely abusing the return policy. I do feel a little more justified because I purchased it with a $15 store credit that I got from my $15 off $50 coupon not going through on my original online order. They weren't able to refund it, so they gave me the credit.
BUT when I went to my Sephora, which is in a JCP store, they confirmed that the ones inside JCP are on a different operating system than the regular Sephoras. So I was basically forced to go make an online order to use the credit
I'm returning the Hourglass Illusion foundation. The woman who matched me was an actual makeup artist, but when I applied it the next morning, in the light of day I looked like a ghost. Sigh.
Just as well, at $56! Back to trying to buying only replacements for 2017. (I already have 3-4 bb/foundation/tinted moisturizers.)

For sure if they matched you and it's the wrong shade, you're legit justified in returning it.

I just went in and had a Chanel woman match me on one cheek and a Mac woman on the other. And I tell you, neither are as good as primer plus Maybelline Dream BB!!!

I have my first empty of the new year!!! I have to wait until Friday to go to Ulta to buy a new one.
I need a good setting powder. Any recommendations? I either use a maybelline better looking skin or Laura gellar translucent pressed powder depending on if I'm working or not. I have combination skin if that helps.

I have but the cashier at Ulta who did my return put my mind at ease. It's like clothes, if you don't like it you return it.

Guilt complex right here. If I don't like something, I send it to our BFF's teenage daughter. I know I can return to the store but unless there's something wrong with it, I just pass it on. Like if I order something in a restaurant and it's exactly how it should be but I just don't like it, I don't send it back. If I order a rare steak and it's medium, yep, that's going back. But that's just me and my guilt. Lol.
I haven't ordered from Sephora in ages and now I'm dying waiting. I ordered a pair of shoes from Zappos on Monday and they arrived yesterday morning. I ordered from Sephora on Monday (a thermal brush!!!) and it won't be here until Friday. I would have gone to the store but they're out of stock. Grumble. Coincidentally, one of their rewards was a collection of amika samples so I'm am super excited to get my brush and the samples. Man, I hate waiting.

I moved my makeup to the new house. I decided to get rid of a bunch of my cheap palettes (similar colours) and a lot of lipsticks which I don't use (wrong colour or wears off too quickly or just old). It'll make life much more simple to have fewer choices and I'll probably replace a few palettes eventually with the better alternatives.

I need primer. I have a weird mix of dry ageing skin, rosacea and pores. I've tried some pore filler stuff but they tend to make my makeup look flakey or break me out in rosacea bumps. I don't care about the redness stuff so much. So I guess I need something more for dry sensitive skin. Any thoughts?

I have aging sensitive skin, and I'm liking the NYX Angel Veil. It's an Hourglass Mineral Veil dupe.

Excellent. I saw it at my local chemist (they just got NYX stuff a few months ago). I'll go buy it today.
