I made a return to a store next to the NYX store. I could not resist its siren song. I spent $12 on two creamy mattes: Cannes and Budapest.

Anyone been in target lately? I know they have the 5 off 15 skincare coupon but my stores entire beauty section seemed bare, and there was a crazy amount of clearance tags. It wasn't just gift set type things either, like normal products in every brand of makeup, skincare, and hair. I am wondering what they are doing.

It's a seasonal re-set for new products and lines. Supposedly, BH Cosmetics and Missha will be sold in stores soon.

I'm generally late to the party but how did I not discover tube mascara until now? It's still going strong at 9 and I've taken a nap, been out in the rain, and had spicy food. Usually by now I have serious racoon eyes and not a lick left on my lashes.

I just came back from Target and noticed the large amount of HBA clearance. I don't need anything, but I was surprised. It looks like they are getting rid of the NYC makeup, and rimmel was pretty bare too.

2 Missha products (snail creams) have been sold at mine for 6 months now, but it's overpriced.

I LOVE the Sephora tart birthday gift! When I got my ulta gift (the pore fessional) I told the sales girl I feel like January always gets crap birthday gifts. She was like, "yeah. Last month I got an urban decay eyeshadow!" My point exactly! So she let me pick out an eyeshadow too:-) So if you have a January birthday, try to get an eyeshadow if they still have some in stock.

I had an argument with Ulta's manager yesterday. They didn't put one of my lipsticks in my bag and swear they did. Even watched the camera. It was a $21 buxom lipstick, not a cheap lipstick. They weren't going to give it to me. Yes it "looks like she put it" in but it could of went to the side of the bag, where they found it btw. The manager was trying to blame me before it was found.

I ordered UD Subversion primer and It Cosmetics Superhero mascara. IDK if it was the primer or the mascara or both of them together, but I swear it's bulletproof. My lashes looked amazing. I ran out of makeup wipes, so I washed what I could off my face with soap and water. Mascara didn't budge. So I slept in it, planning to wash my face again in the morning to get rid of the inevitable raccoon eyes before I went out to buy more makeup wipes.

You guys, the stuff didn't budge. No raccoon eyes, it still looked just as it had when I applied it the morning before.

Also bought It Cosmetics CC cream. Not totally sold on it. It's not bad but it doesn't have the staying power that a couple of my other favorite products do. Also bought two UD Revolution lipglosses and love them both. No scent, not sticky, and they wear well.

I'm going to complain to corporate. I don't expect anything to be done but just need to complain about the attitude of the manager towards me. The cashier did nothing wrong, simple mistake. I spent a lot at Ulta in the last year and my last order was almost $300. I planned on that much and it was budgeted in my January budget. Then to accuse me of losing a $21 lipstick. I also never got the "free gift with purchase." Guess I should include that. I've never had this issue before at Ulta but will be more mindful my next purchase.

I've reached out via phone, email, twitter and Facebook. Still no resolution.

I started Curology this week. My pores and fine lines were starting to depress me. This is my 4th day, and I think I'm already seeing results. i use Curology. I'm coming up on a year.  I love it. Though I noticed I get more dry patches and I have to be super vigilant about moisturizing.  

Prior to using Curology, I had dark spots on my upper lip that I was super self conscious about and within a couple of months they were and have stayed completely gone!  Even throughout the summer. I have been staying on top of my sunscreen game though. 

What's the moisturizer they recommend? I don't remember what it is.  I recently picked up Stravia liquid gold and so far I really like it.  

I dealt with purging too. It subsided after awhile though.

Ugh I almost forgot how Ulta peeved me off last month too. I had a big order and I ordered a few NYX things with the BOGO half off and part of my order showed shipped but never left the warehouse. They made me wait about 2 weeks before they would do anything. I emailed back again and then they reshipped but the order was missing an eyeliner. I emailed again asking about the eyeliner and was told it was out of stock and they issued me gift card for the amount.

I thought this was annoying because they didn't issue me a refund for exact amount with tax just a giftcard for the price of the eyeliner. I emailed telling them how I didn't think that was right because in order to repurchase that item I would have to pay the tax again and it wouldn't be half off.

If I had been given the option, I would have taken a refund to my card or picked another item half off.

The money part of it isn't a big deal but what if it had been a more expensive item? That tax could add up especially paying it twice.

I emailed them expressing my concerns over this gift card practice and I never heard back. All I wanted was an acknowledgement.

I went to Ulta on Saturday to redeem a coupon for a free sample of Bliss Face Wash and the lady accidentally gave me the $9 travel size bottle. The manager was super nice and gave it to me when the coupon wouldn't scan. Win!

Y'all already know my issues with Ulta. After an entire year of complaining via different channels, I finally received my first 20% off coupon in December. I spent my points, let my Platinum status lapse, and I'm planning to spend my makeup money at CVS and Sephora in 2017.

WHAT IS UP WITH THIS

It only seems to happen to me with Ulta. Like the post office gets it, and then hoards it.   My Ulta packages are NEVER early. Even if it gets to the post office three days before the estimated date of delivery, it sits there until the originally predicted time.


For Sephora, out here, they use OnTrac for deliveries. I think it's a smaller company that's only on the west coast. My Sephora shipments are pretty good about being on time.

I'm on the West Coast, and when things get sent from their Salt Lake City warehouse they use OnTrac. When they come from Maryland I think it's UPS. 

Honestly I'm pretty disillusioned with Ulta, even being platinum. After I redeemed my last 2000 points I tried to reign in my purchases to just when I really needed something or I could wait for a good discount, not just point bonuses. Those points rack up way slower that way.

I...wouldnt' expect much better from anybody else on christmas?  I'm always a little befuddled by people who get pissy about shipping, particularly in cases like ordering on christmas eve when everybody is slammed - is it that the things haven't actually SHIPPED or is it UPS/FedEx/USPS dicking you around?  Once something leaves the company's hands, I usually stop judging whether they suck or not anymore as long as they didnt' use some fly-by-night shipping that I can't track, ya know?  Not that I work for ulta or anything, so no skin off my back if you switch to a different source for your stuff.

My only quibble with ulta is that they use the surepost to cut costs, but surepost blows chunks because the handoff from UPS to USPS always adds an extra delay.  If sephora uses straight up UPS, then yeah, that's better.
