What do you think of the kids in cages at the border erose?
If you have to ask this, you’re a goddamned moron.
But I don’t support anyone who has been deporting undocumented immigrants for multiple administrations. Or presidents who droned literally 8 countries.
You have blood on your fucking hands voting for these people.

So if you don’t get your way you are going to vote to keep those kids in cages. Maybe I am moronic. But you are god damned evil.
His history in South Bend is bad news. He needs to get himself and his campaign together like 6m ago. I actually think his experience is like completely unimportant compared to this and it’s a dealbreaker.
Oh for sure. My expectations for him are low, low, low.
I hope the increased focus on him post Iowa helps with his downsides. It may not matter once we hit Super Tuesday but I want any candidate who is hanging in there and gaining attention to work on their issues and FIX them.

Saying you’d potentially refuse to vote for the D nominee in a purple state is some privileged white woman nonsense. Remember how we all said we’d do better after the 2016 election?
I don't believe the Democratic party will have the presidency this next term. I think Trump will be elected for a second term and Dems need to get it together and turn the senate blue.

I think those 2 are incompatible. If Trump wins re-election, the Dems aren’t taking the senate.
Ah yes. "Everyone I don't like (as a privileged white woman) is a man. Everyone I don't like is a white man, even though I'm white and happy to prop up neoliberal evil." - Liberal proverb

Pretty sure the man thing was a joke. But if you’re not white, I’ll eat my hat.

Also, this "Bernie is just as bad as Trump" thing needs to stop. I have no love for Bernie Sanders. But unless you genuinely believe that Bernie is going to be ordering ICE to separate and terrorize families at the border, ripping children away from their families and putting them in cages, banning Muslims, stacking the courts with misogynistic goons who are actively trying to overturn Roe and strip women of their rights, and all the other horrific shit that Trump is doing, then no, Bernie is not just as bad as Trump.

Now you've made me defend Bernie Sanders. Blech.
I don’t think anyone is saying Bernie is as bad as Trump policy wise. More like they see similarities in their supporters independent of ideology.

erose and others - I would like to point out it isn’t just the president. Think about all the appointments. Betsy Devos is fucking up education badly. That is just one example of the utter incompetence throughout the White House and appointees. Not to mention the utter shell at which our government is right now.

I'm not sure if you're interpreting my posts as saying that Bernie is as bad as Trump? Bernie is nowhere as bad as Trump is policy wise. I support many of Bernie's policies. Like rupertpenny said, I see similarities between their supporters and their constant need for their ego to be stroked, their stupidity, etc..

No, that was in response to the poster saying that Bernie is just the flip side of trump and that’s why she and her husband wouldn’t vote for him despite being in a purple state.

Oh, well that IS dumb.
That was me, and the argument was rather more complex than that.
I don't like Bernie Sanders at all, but I feel like I need to post this comic that was created in terms of HRC vs. Trump, because it applies equally to Old Man Bernie (or whoever else isn't the "prefect" Dem) vs. Trump:
When faced with a steaming, fly infested pile of shit (Trump) or an unfrosted slice of carrot cake filled with dry raisins, you pick the fucking cake. To do otherwise is to cut of your nose, and the noses of everyone around you, to spite your face.

And just as important, THE FEDERAL BENCH. These are lifetime appointments that have already okayed expanded powers for POTUS, not producing his federal taxes, and supporting/adjudicating many of his policies. And SCOTUS. We've already lost Merrick Garland and if something, heaven forbid, happens to any of the four liberals left on the bench, the Senate is *not* going to follow the "it's his last year so we need to wait for the elections and the people's mandate" but will push through a third Supreme Court justice. And if, even worse nightmare, Trump wins and the Senate remains red under McConnell, we are eternally screwed and may not even *have* a 2024 election to talk about.

I can vote locally in person in Dems Abroad Mar 3. I can register up to the day before. I'm guessing all Dems Abroad are grouped together as a bloc? Does it have any measurable impact? This is my first dem abroad as previously I was a mil spouse and OR automatically sent us our ballots. Warren is definitely my choice.
So, I'm SS for this poll. But I'll probably be back in the States after the nominee is chosen, and I'll canvass but probably not donate. I tend to donate toward my pet issues, but I'll consider it this round as the mango menace needs to go. I'll definitely vote blue. Thank goodness I don't have to consider if Tulsi is the nominee because that's never going to happen. I was living in HI when she was first elected. That was... interesting.
Makes sense - caucusing is a big time commitment if you don't have a strong opinion. I didn't caucus in 2016 (in CO) because I somewhat preferred Clinton to Sanders but I didn't love her and I knew I'd vote for either of them in the general election.
I’ve read this and that people feel paralyzed by indecision on who is best able to beat Trump. And I go back and forth between both positions because Bernie worries me for down ballot.
I’m not surprised at all. A lot of people I know don’t care if a ham sandwich is the nominee, so there’s no way they’re moving mountains and overcoming various obstacles to spend hours on a Monday night to have a say.

Not only who is best able, but with a dozen candidates - how do you even compare? If I'm going out to eat and you tell me to pick between two restaurants: no problem. Give me a wide open city and I will probably just defer that decision to others who feel more strongly.
ETA: I guess, with that many options on the table, people probably have a MUCH easier time telling you who they don't want, rather than who they do.

I think this is what is happening in CO and the primary for CFG's challenger. We're all, "Anyone but CFG."
