I love it. And I am not a fan of cardio - I would prefer to weight train all day long. Also, the groups on FB are SO motivating (some more than others).

We don't have a peloton but I've downloaded the app since it's free for 3-months. I love the outdoor (runs/walks), strength, cardio, and yoga workouts - even my kids do them. I'm considering paying for the subscription once the 3-months are up. If I was at all interested in the bike I'd do it.
raises hand! we bought ours because H's company reimburses $1800 per year towards fitness related stuff so it was essentially free (not really, but very low cost). We got it when I was pregnant under the premise that it would be hard to get out of the house to go to fitness classes (I previously had done OTF pretty religiously).
Neither of us had never biked. Why we thought it would be good to buy this bike is something I still ask myself. If you know you enjoy spinning, and can stay motivated to workout at home, then I think it's a much easier sell.

If you aren't sure or are hesitant, I wouldn't.
You could sell it. They are a hot item right now. 😀
I've only had mine one month, but I absolutely love it! However, mine was a gift and I would not have spent that much if I had to buy it myself. The Echelon is a great option also.
My two kids use it also, so the monthly subscription is well worth it, IMO. I've loved spinning for years, so I don't see me getting tired of anytime soon.
Got mine Dec 1. I love it. I fell off for for a little (meaning was only riding twice a week or so and only 20 min rides) when DD stopped sleeping. But now that she’s sleeping a little better at night, I’m back doing longer rides. I don’t think any other form of exercise could have pulled me back in so quickly.

I've had a few coworkers offer to buy it but my H is still convinced that maybe we'll use it one day...

They are going for over retail in my community. Literally posts saying ISO and will pay over retail.
Guys, stop it. I've already got a fold up rower, small equipment like weights, and a full-size treadmill that I love using the Peloton app with, and have been so tempted by the bike. I don't have room for another thing!
This is how it happens! If you have space and can afford it, then do it! I have never been a “cycle” person, but I’ve really enjoyed my bike. It’s been amazing for my injured knee.
Interesting. My bike should get here by tomorrow and I’ve been concerned about my annoying knee. It’s good to hear it didn’t aggravate it further!

I can’t do anything out of the saddle and have to be cognizant of speed/resistance combos that cause pain. Using cycle shoes (cleats) has also helped because I can use my hamstrings as well as my quads.
I'm going to keep going with the ways Peloton has changed my life:
-I've lost almost 15 lbs since Nov. (I am postpartum with DS2, but still. I lost basically nothing in the 3 years after DS1)
-I'm so much happier even given this shithole situation we're in.
-I went from having almost daily neck and back pain to nothing. Literally nothing. I was considering starting PT 3 times a week, but didn't need to.
-I am sick so much less.
Love my bike.
ETA: Yes, other workouts would have the same result, but this one has been easy to do and stick with even with an 8 month old. And fun! And motivating!
This has me so wanting to buy but it’s just not in the budget right now
Get another bike! I got an echelon sport from Walmart for under $500. I told myself I would get the Peleton in the future, but so far I’m 100% satisfied with what I have now.

We tried 2 others and didn’t think they were very good.
And a heads up- they give a discount for healthcare workers. You get free shoes, ear buds, and weights. Better deal than the discount code I had from a friend. The friend gets the $100 credited to her account and I told her to place an order for shoes for my H
Just as a heads up...this may not work. I thought we could do this too, but the $100 she gets on her account is actually just for the boutique and shoes are not a boutique item. Unless this changes because of your healthcare worker deal, but I predict it won't. Sorry.
About to pull the trigger on one but the wait for delivery is so long that I can probably be talked out of it. Ha.
I know there are a lot of options out there to get a different bike and use the app and tablet, etc. but if I'm going to get a spin bike, its going to be the Peloton.
I'm a runner and have a treadmill that I use regularly in crap weather. I want something to cross train with and a way to work out with friends again.
Update: I just ordered it. Should be here in July but sooner if possible. Figured the 30 day free trial with free pick up and full refund makes it easier to go ahead and try it out.

Yay! hope you get it sooner. also just a heads up the code your friend will get is only good on apparel and accessories not shoes or weights or anything.
My DH bought one in December, we even joked that he was like the Peloton husband buying it for his wife. I was slightly annoyed because both of us were regular gym users. LITTLE DID I KNOW how useful it would become these past few months; plus DH had to quit OrangeTheory because he's getting knee surgery, so we are using that money to justify the Peloton costs. His doctor even recommended the Peloton as safe for his knee after surgery. I plan on keeping my gym membership because it's a YMCA and I feel good about paying those dues but I don't know when I'll go back. With the Peloton, I'm averaging 6 workouts per week (cycle, strength and yoga). I know you didn't ask, but my favorite cycling instructor is Emma Lovewell, and Anna Greenberg for yoga.
Oh, maybe look into ordering a padded bike seat (I got mine on Amazon for like $20), or getting some padded bike shorts. They really come in handy on longer rides or low impact rides where you're in the saddle the entire time.
Okay, so a peloton is right up my alley. I even went to their location at the King of Prussia mall and tried it out once. I do outdoor cycling A LOT (and do it because it's lower impact than many other exercises, and I have a herniated disc in my lower back). BUT I also belong to a fancy gym and didn't want an incentive to not go to it. They have cycling classes that are really nice, plus a ton of other stuff.
But I don't anticipate going back to the gym for the rest of this year, so I pulled the trigger on the Schwinn bike Velar Fricative mentioned. I'm picking it up at Dick's tomorrow and using it in a room where I can cast the peloton app to a TV for about 1/3rd the cost.

July? Wow, that is a long wait time.
We order a NordicTrack s22i about a week ago and it will be here next Thursday. I've never been a fitness person, seriously, at all. I'm a total fatass..lol. But I'm so excited for the bike! My goal is 20 minutes a day to start, every day.
rikki. He’s 6?! My boys just turned 8, so I shouldn’t be surprised at how fast time goes, but I remember when we both lived in the same neighborhood and talked strollers.
My two have started running with me- we did 5 miles yesterday- and I bet they would love riding, too.
So crazy. He will be 7 in August. Where does time go?
That’s amazing they did 5 miles with you - super impressive. I need to try to find more physical activities for the boys. We are living with my mother in law while we gut our house and they’ve become total couch potatoes since she doesn’t really have a yard.

I love iFit, and they just started live classes. I have a Proform elliptical and have done an iFit workout 4-5 days a week since early January and I actually look forward to working out - I've never done remotely that well before! The outdoor series are my favorite.
If anyone is dismayed by the long Peloton waits or price - take a look at iFit, there's a lot of variety in price points and equipment types from ProForm and NordickTrack

LOVE! My husband is an avid cyclist who loves to race, but I bought a pair of shoes just in case I wanted to try. It’s not my main workout (I’m a barre instructor) but I ride 3-5x week and love it. I’m shortly approaching my 100th ride.
I ordered the Schwinn IC4 last week as well. I couldn't find it in stock anywhere near me and shipping estimate is 45 days! I hope it comes before that. I will also get the Peleton app to use with it. The bike was $800 and the app is cheaper than the peleton monthly subscription with the bike. I canceled my gym and will break even in about a year.
I understand the membership is $39 if you have the Peleton bike and $12 for the mobile app (which can be used with any bike). But if I buy the Peleton bike and have the $39 membership, can I still use that membership/streaming app on my phone (like to go for a run), or does it only work on the bike screen? Which would mean I'd have to pay another $12 on top of the $39 to do stuff on my phone?
Also, you can have as many users as you want on the $39 membership. My whole family uses it, plus 2 of my best friends.
Glad you made the purchase OP. I have had mine for 3 years and love it. I have even been to "homecoming" weekend in NYC once. And I have visited their NYC studios multiple times when I was in New York for other things. It's really a special company.

You can use the $39 app on everything - Bike, phone, streaming through the television (if you have Fire TV or Android TV). You can also cast the app from your phone through a tv.
I use mine for outdoor workouts all the time - One nice thing to note - you can pre-download the workouts so you don't have to use data while off wifi during a run/walk, if that's a concern to you.
