I would like to wallow a bit. I've had a string of random, but not too serious but very annoying and painful, things happen to me since March. I would like a break, and for nothing to hurt and everything to be fixed.
This brought to you by my visit to the endontist to fix, for the third time, my root canal tooth. They went at it from the outside this time, and my face is going to be a bruised mess tomorrow.

That sounds quite unpleasant. I'm sorry. It's so frustrating to not have random pain and think about how much you took NOT being in pain for granted! I hope you feel better soon and the universe lets up on you.
pixy0stix That sounds horrific. I hope this is the final fix for you. Also, can I wallow with you on medical frustrations? I have been having dizzy spells since mid-may and I just keep getting passed from doctor to doctor. It's really disheartening.
pixy0stix , I'm sorry, DH went through similar a few years ago and it was miserable for him.
I didn't get selected for a job. I let a coworker who knows I'm looking and he was even surprised I didn't get an interview. I can afford to be picky and there's not much out there.
ssmjlm sorry about the job. About a year ago, there were 2 positions open that my friend and I applied for. We were both 100% perfect for the job (we had done it before) and neither of us got even a phone screen. Sometimes the posting is made for someone very specific and they are not paying any attention to the applicants.
I'm really annoyed at my job's wellness program. They are not accepting my exercise log since my 9 weeks of exercise were non-consecutive; I logged 7 weeks, then took two weeks off when I got covid, then logged 2 additional weeks. I have such problems with these programs as a concept, but this is a great illustration of how they do not encourage good health! (I'm going to "appeal" this decision, but I just feel like the "consecutive weeks" rule is encouraging disordered behavior.)

Vacation in OBX was great, but I am so glad to be home. Better coffee, better mattress on my own bed, and no relatives putting on Fox News every morning.
I had such a great time working at a beer festival last week (worked on the American beer stand) and this week is all about work (helping to interview people for counselling vacancies, writing letters for students & doing counselling) & home (garden issues, painting exterior windows). While it's good stuff, it's not as fun as last week.

I don't know what town you were in, but I hope you were able to avoid the jellyfish that showed up this weekend. We have never seen jellyfish like that before and they were EVERYWHERE. Wall to wall. (We have house down there and were there for a weekend.)

We were in Duck. The house we rented was on the Sound side, and we didn't go over to the beach at all.

I went on a tour of the Capitol today (I live right outside the city). All I could think about was those monsters bashing the doors and windows to get in and hunt members of Congress down on J6.
I did learn some cool history of the building and the rooms and the people (plus the statues--who they are and how they are chosen--so interesting).
We saw Richard Blumenthal in the Rotunda with who we think was his family. He seems like a sweet man.

We were in South Carolina last week and had so many jellyfish stings. It's a week later, and all the places I got stung are erupting in itchy bumps. It's miserable.
1. Boiled eggs. My H eats three or four on weekday mornings for breakfast. (He limits the yolks to no more than two.) The way he peels his eggs is maddening. *tap* *taptaptap* *tiny tiny tap taps* Dude - they are boiled. They are not going to break apart in your hand 😵💫 I should add that I have been making and peeling boiled eggs since I was 7, so I'm pretty confident in how hard I need to rap an egg against the counter to get the shell off. His method really only bothers me when he complains about not being able to get the shell off. If he'd crack it harder and all over (like I've shown him) he wouldn't have that problem 🤷♀️
2. Dishes. For many years I was the only one doing dishes except for rare occasions when we would do them together (he scrubbed/rinsed and I loaded). This routine has apparently led me to have an attitude of "only I know how to load the dishwasher" because H is now taking the initiative to empty the dishwasher and load dishes as we use them and...no. he's doing it wrong. Last week I moved some things around to fit more in and he got mildly hurt and then I was like "what the fuck did I just do?? Am I turning into one of 'those' people?!" And this morning I realized that yes. Yes. I am one of those people. I have done the dishes for so long that MY WAY IS THE ONLY RIGHT WAY. But I am reining myself in and taking many deep breaths because I like that he is doing the dishes and I don't want him to stop.
I don't mind dumping water out of Tupperware that flips over because it wasn't properly weighed down by heavier items. Really. I don't mind at all *breezy hair flip*
ETA: H is currently on short term disability for a fairly serious medical issue. He is always here (still going to the gym, but overall a massive reduction in my "me time" on weekends). And because he is ALWAYS HERE and I haven't found a way to get a little space, everything he does is annoying me. I am a horrible wife 😵
But I also haven't told him how much I miss my weekend TV time, so maybe I'm an okay wife 🙃 ...I'm so tired 😔

My husband and I both rearrange the dishwasher on each other. It honestly kind of cracks me up at this point because I KNOW my way is more chaotic, but I'm also the one doing the dishes the vast majority of the time so I do it my way and it's all fine. The small plastic cups often end up sideways and upside down, but whatever. I dump them and rinse them and everything is ok. But his way doesn't fit nearly as much. So....he'll sometimes start loading and it'll be half full and I go to add the dinner dishes and totally rearrange so everything fits. But other times he'll rearrange my loading (which I saw as half full) and go ahead and start it because now there's "no more space".

yes! This is basically what happens except my way is organized and efficient (imo) and his way is chaotic and has us running the dishwasher more often 😅 it's such a silly thing, lol.
SwimDeep I honestly think that this is the sort of stuff that leads people to say "marriage is hard", lol. It's a lot of biting your tongue over the stupid crap that doesn't really matter, but damn does it drive you crazy.
I too hate the way my H loads the dishwasher and often rearrange. I try not to say anything though because I'm the one who does the dishes most of the time so I'm just glad he's trying and don't want to be a controlling nagging wife. But also my way is right. Lol.
I'm just happy when it's dh's week to do the dishes and I don't have to think about it. I think his way is weird, but whatevs. The only thing I stopped him from doing is rinsing all the dishes before putting them in. It wastes water, and the soap doesn't clean them nearly as effectively if they're rinsed.

Was it a guided tour, and if so, do they talk about J6 and areas that were damaged?
Lol my dishwasher complaint is that H comes from a family of “put dirty dishes in the sink all day and then eventually put them in the dishwasher” and I can’t stand that so I always load them in as I see them. EXCEPT. He has an uncanny sense for when the dishes in the dishwasher are clean, but not knowing it, and THEN AND ONLY THEN does he put something directly in the dishwasher 🤣
SwimDeep, maybe start buying the eggs already boiled and peeled lol
My husband does so many little things that irritate me, I can't even court. I've been coming into the office 3 days this week and other than getting up and gettin dressed and driving, it's been glorious. No one asking me questions all day and bugging me about what we are going to eat for the next meal.
One of our local stations is operating from a temporary space outside of our office, and we get to do a tour of the space today so that will be cool.

I don't do dishes so I have no dishwasher complaints, but I'm our laundry do-er and every once in a while DH decides he has to wash something. Like right that minute, regardless of what I've got going on in the laundry. If there's clothes in the washer, he moves them to the top of the dryer (never in the dryer). If there's clothes in the dryer, they go in top of the dryer when he needs it (regardless of whether they're done drying). Then he doesn't put them back when he's done so there's just random wet or damp laundry in the laundry room a few times a year that I usually need to rewash.
I've asked him to not so this several times. I've decided it's a pick a battle situation but it still drives me crazy.
I had super fast, City owned internet installed today! I'm using a Google/Nest wifi router so I don't have to reconnect all those damn things. I'll start the slow, painful process of changing over everything else tonight.

I got some virus a few days ago ans the past 2 days I woke up and my lungs just ached. I finally went to thr Dr today and my O2 was jumping from 92-95. So had to do a neb in the office and got steroids. I would just like to be able to take a deep breath. We are supposed to go to Maine on Sat so I really hope I feel better soon.

DH had something like this recently and now that he's recovered, in hindsight we're pretty sure it was the flu.

It was guided, and he didn't say anything outright re: J6, but he did make a couple of references to "some guests". He made similar comments when sharing that the British burned down the Capitol. It was subtle, but it was there.

Interesting. I haven't had a fever or body aches or anything like that. I haven't even really felt any malaise but I was around someone who had it before me and had a fever for 1 day. Who knows. Someone needs to invent at home testing for other viruses so I can satisfy my curiosity.

DH did have a very mild fever a couple of days over the course of a week (nothing huge, under 101) and did have some body aches but said that his main symptom was a weird lung-y feeling.
How did I miss husband dishwashing complaints?! I guess my biggest is that H likes to do dishes in the morning, not after dinner. So he will stack them in the sink over night. And then get all up in arms over ants. So the, he will resort to chemical shit in kitchen to get rid of the ants. But won’t do the dishes at night. And then I get all annoyed at him for getting pulling out the chemicals, when the problem is food on dirty dishes for 8 hours, and those ants are just out there trying to live their best life.
My random is that I need to confess my love of clickbait. Turn on the ad blocker, and the show me 50 crazy picture, 25 creepy things pulled from Reddit, etc. Collate it for me please.
