Like Velar Fricative, I’m so glad to hear all these positives of people making it through. The complex my ILs live in does not have power or internet, but the hotline says those they evacuated to a shelter are all ok and they will be assessing damage today, with an update later this afternoon. I didn’t call, but someone transcribed the message.
I just got in touch with MIL who is in Cape Coral. She is fine, no power, roof shingles she said are pretty much all done, all their fences are gone, pool lanai is gone, trees are gone. Said it will take a while to get out and tons of damage but thankfully/shockingly she doesn't have flooding in their home, stopped across the street which is where the canal is. I am happy it wasn't worse and that she is OK.
Stepdad's winter house is in Englewood on a canal but he was still at his summer house in Ohio. Mercifully, all his neighbors left since there are some health issues among them. So waiting on news regarding damage.
H's uncle and family friends are in Arcadia. This is inland from Port Charlotte/Punta Gorda. Lots of tree damage and some house, outbuilding damage. Power outages estimated at possibly 2 weeks. Friends wished they had evacuated.
Friend in Orlando (Davenport), tree damage, but still has power.

My aunt and uncle in the Orlando area are fine and still have power! Thankful it didn't hit them too hard. Happy to hear the updates that friends and family are OK, I hope everyone's damage is minimal!
My ILs near Orlando have had 11+ inches of rain. They just lost power and have some big branches down but otherwise okay. A friend from Sarasota posted a photo of her apartment and it is basically gone. There is no ceiling. I am so sad for her.
While it does show lots a bad stuff, there were also a whole lot of houses that appeared high and dry, as long as they weren’t on fire 😭 I can’t even imagine the feeling of seeing your house burned down while it was surrounded by water.
Thanks to all the interest in the sanibel causeway, I have reviewed every helicopter video I can find an I’m 90% certain I’ve seen the ILs neighborhood and identified their house, roof intact. Unclear from grainy video if the water reached their house, it’s definitely within single digit feet. But, the likelihood of visitors of undetermined duration is going down.

Confirmed that water reached to the bottom of the 2nd floor of the buildings in my parents' small condo community. So that's for sure one car gone. Other, being at an airport, is unknown.
The mx guy rode out the storm at his house in cape coral (why?!) and said it was the worst storm he'd ever experienced which, yeah, I'm sure it was. I can only think of 2 as bad or worse my family experienced, and that was Dorian 3 years ago and Andrew 30 years ago. I had family in the eye of all 3 of these storms.

For anyone looking for imagery, NOAA has a site with disaster response imagery. In the past I feel like the site was updated fairly quickly. There is nothing posted for this storm yet but I would not be surprised if they started collecting imagery today.
My in-laws’ vacation home in Cape Coral has less damage than my grandparents’ house in East Orlando. My grandparents’ neighborhood had knee- to ankle-deep water and they had to be taken out in a boat by a county rescue crew this afternoon. It’s insane.
Just hurts my heart to see so much suffering and devastation in my hometown.

We lost our boat and dock/lift, but thankfully all of our friends and family are in pretty good shape. A few broken windows and lost vehicles, which, considering, isn't bad.
One of my ex-coworkers, though, is pretty sure they lost everything. They evacuated, thankfully, but from the pictures, looks like their house is a total loss - the whole thing is underwater by a few feet. She's got a great attitude about it, though, and they're going to try to get over there in the upcoming days to see if there's anything at all to save. So thankful they got out - she's a Michigan transplant and is a little older (60's) and has always been like, "I even HEAR about a hurricane and I'm gone, man!"

If anyone is in North Fort Myers or has friends/family there, one of our local heroes, Willie Ray’s Q Shack is at the Big Lots on Cleveland with free food for anyone who needs it. He’s also good for a huge dose of joy and support. He said he expects to be there a couple of days and then might move locations.
He closes his shop almost every time there’s a disaster somewhere in reasonable driving range (this time was 20+ hours) and feeds people for free for about a week. Last week, he was only open a couple of days, and all proceeds went to fund the food in Florida.
Go enjoy some delicious food if you’re in the area, and know we’re sending love from Iowa!
