Chuck Grassley was reelected in Iowa. He is 89 years old. He will be 95 when his term is over. What the heck?
I had hoped the Dem might pull out a win here too. Pundits seemed to think it was possible given Grassley age and things, but alas. Gas is expensive, so 🤷♀️

Why am I the way I am? I am incredibly exhausted and desperately need to sleep. I cannot do anything about the election results. One would argue it would be better to just pull the bandaid off in one fell swoop tomorrow morning then get results peacemeal like this. And yet here I am. Ugh.
pixy0stix, what are your thoughts on the others props in Colorado?
Surprisingly, it looks like all the alcohol ones are going to lose. We liked take away alcohol so much, I thought restaurant delivery would at least make it. I think door dash killed it by supporting it.

Only 41% reporting in SD so far but we are up at 56% on Amendment D and I’m feeling pretty good. It looks like a lot of our better areas haven’t reported yet. Im going to have to go to bed soon though bc it’s too late for this on the east coast.
I’m puzzled that proposition FF is split 55/45 for!
This is free breakfast and lunch for kids at school! I thought for would be much higher.
Colorado
I actually thought it would fail by a lot. I am not low income but free meals were pretty life changing for us and I really hope they come back.
Based on some conversations I've heard, the general sense was "yes, let's support school kids, but is this the most effective way to do it?" (vs. having that money go to more teachers or other resources).

I haven’t been following these state level initiatives super closely so I didn’t know this was on the ballot! Fingers crossed it stays up!

Are you me? 😂
As I sit here in bed trying to put my phone down (which is on "bedtime mode" right now and will likely yell at me soon) but I caaaan't.

Anyway looks like there's a good chance it wins!
Honestly, I think this is an incredible way to support kids. As a school nurse, I see so many kids who come in for stomach aches because they didn’t eat in the morning or for lunch. There are a lot of parents who would qualify for free and reduced lunch who don’t/can’t do it for various reasons. I think this is a great way to keep kids in the classroom!

This is one I’ve been staffing for work all year and we spent an insane amount of time and money on it and could really use a win, especially since NC kind of shit the bed. Fingers crossed!

Not a result, but MSNBC’s Twitter page has the “KornackiCam” pinned at the top. For awhile we were watching him check his phone. Then walk around some. something about the fact Kornacki has his own Cam Like the Pandas at the National Zoo has me giggling.

Exactly. This is why non-educators shouldn’t be making education decisions. School boards are often so out of touch with what it’s like to be in the trenches.
"Hello babies. Welcome to Earth. It's hot in the summer and cold in the winter. It's round and wet and crowded. On the outside, babies, you've got a hundred years here. There's only one rule that I know of, babies-"God damn it, you've got to be kind.”

Bummer. I wanted wine in the grocery stores.
CO is so fucking weird. Legalizing shrooms and not expanding liquor. Lol!
