Someone on Jessica Yellin's insta page asked about much time he could be facing. A reply stated that he upped the penalty himself from 1 to 5 years so that Hilary would be punished more. HAHAHAHA. How awesome would it be that HE serves so much more time because of his OWN actions.
If/when he is finally behind bars, I want Hillary to post a video of herself running freely though hills and twirling around like in Sound Of Music. The email lady is freeeee while this bastard rots in jail. A girl can dream...

someone on the internet will superimpose her face/head on Julie Andrew's body to make this dream a reality. Guaranteed 😄
I still can’t get over the fact that we don’t have a process here and a former president can just take high secret documents to his beach club. How hard would it be to establish the process where the archives ask for the docs or coming looking for the docs after an election is over. I don’t understand how this works but it’s not like this is the first time we’ve had a criminal president. Trump had the Russians in the oval dropping info. It is all just unreal.

I know this is unprecedented, so there may be nothing, but unless he’s in jail, is there anything that says he cannot run for president if he’s under criminal charges?

Even if he is in jail, he can run unfortunately.
Are there any circumstances in which he CANNOT run? I’m afraid the bastard will be running this country (I say that very loosely) from behind bars.

Not really.
The Constitution only requires a presidential candidate to be a natural-born U.S. citizen, at least 35 years old and have lived in the country for 14 years—with no other restrictions.
Now, if he’s determined to have participated in an insurrection, Congress could declare him ineligible under section 3 of the 14th amendment, but that’s unlikely to happen with a Republican controlled House.
ETA - and let me just add, I find this INFURIATING, considering the limits we go to restrict people from voting due to minor infractions. Up until this year, I thought Trump would be unable to run if he was convicted and you should have heard the words I said when I learned that was not the case.
The analysts on TV are already talking about home arrest if it got as far as a conviction which to me is pretty much like getting off if you are only just stuck at home at his age.

He can pardon himself on the federal charges. That wouldn’t help him if he ended up in prison on state charges, though. But yes, technically, he can be president in prison. And we would be the laughingstock of the world.
There are no guidelines on any of this, because pre-2016, I don’t think anyone could have fathomed that someone like him could end up in office. Alas, here we are.

Yeah, it's an absurd system with people who have power (because let's face it, anyone who can seriously run for President has some "power") play by different rules. Infuriating.

With everything in that indictment, we already should be the laughingstock of the world. This is all beyond embarrassing.

I bet if he dies between now and primary day 2024 he’d just be propped up Weekend at Bernie’s style and would still win the nom. So I feel like nothing will stop him.

No one needs to look further than Mel Carnahan’s senate win in MO.

To quote my H, “He could run the country from a fucking jail cell and the Republican Party would lick it up.”

It’s really a sign of how deeply fucked up our country is that someone who is accused of crimes against the United States could still wind up as president of the United States.

And I worry about who he chooses as VP because, honestly, THEY would truly be running the country. And some of the possibilities are definitely criminals.

I'm someone outside the country, and there's derision, laughing, and plain ignorance.
I met another American last night, and we were both initially reluctant to identify. And once we acknowledged, it was a full on can you believe this shit. Sadly, many don't realize how bad it is. These are the same people who wondered why Hitler chicken got condemnation.
