I've seen a few theories. My FIL was a lawyer for decades and regularly posts from various legal minded sites.

One is that Melania was so mentally checked out for years ago quite possibly didn't even care enough to talk to tfg let alone know anything relevant to a crime.

Another is she might have known there were boxes but had no idea it was a crime to have them. He's convinced millions of people he can make something unclassed with his thoughts, so why not her?

I think there's some legal difference between active obstruction and failure to report. I don't think she's have a legal duty to report, and it's probably pretty easy to establish she doesn't actively do anything with or about him.

Let's say a serial killer is loading his truck with dead body parts in duffel bags piled on the curb. You walk by, he asks you to hand him a bag, you say sure, hand it to him, go on your merry way. Are you now an accomplice?

In their various residences, I can definitely see plausible deniability about just but knowing what was where and accepting with a shrug "oh, just some work stuff" and not caring enough to think about it again before going on to rip up a rose garden and decorate with blood soaked Christmas trees

Congrats to Byron Donalds for being a moron. He justified what DT did by saying there are 33 bathrooms at MAL so it’s not like hiding these files in one of them will make them easy to find. This is definitely the dumbest defense I’ve seen so far.

I read stuff like this and get all excited because, hey, it's Monday morning. And then I remember for the millionth time I'm 12-13 hours ahead of east coast (depends on time of year), and I have to wait until after dinner for fun things to happen
