I don't even know which thread to put this in, but I just got polled (by a real, reputable source), and I found it SO DEEPLY satisfying to report as a baptized Catholic who lives in Missouri that I cannot wait to vote for Harris, and that restriction to abortion is a major driver in my vote, as is gun control. There was an entire open field section about why I wanted to vote for her and not Trump. This may be the answer to anxiety and depression. For only 20 minutes a day, tell the world what you think about Donald Trump and the republican party. BLISS.

How did you get polled? Was it a text or email or phone call? I have gotten a couple texts that were like “click this link and take the poll” but I’m too scared to click the link assuming it’s a scam/malware.

That's my thing too. I've gotten a few texts. I WANT to take a poll if it's for real, but I don't know how to verify.

Same here. I don’t trust a texted link, but also won’t pick up a phone number I don’t recognize…

In the city where the debate is happening tonight -> The Harris campaign put at least 3 big billboards on buildings in downtown Philadelphia with this message in a big happy font :
Crowd Size Matters.
KamalaHarris.com/wit
Guys, the billboard has 2 Philly pretzel pictures - the big one over “Harris” and a little one (just the top) over “Trump”.
!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Supporters in Philly are LOVING it !!
There is also a paid ad tonight running on Fox News from Harris saying the same thing - THEY ARE TROLLING TRUMP

Just a reminder to everyone if you’re donating, please only do so directly from her site or ActBlue and be cautious about clicking any links that are texted to you. LOTS of scams out there.
Pope Francis criticized both former President Trump and Vice President Kamala Harris as being "against life" given their respective stances on migration and abortion. What they're saying: "Both are against life, be it the one who kicks out migrants or the one who (supports) killing babies," he said.

And really REALLY please just go to her site directly. Do not even click on links that look like they’re from her campaign. I just got one that had an “m.” in front of the kamalaharris.com website. Someone who isn’t paying attention could click on it and be taken to a scam site.
ETA - I dug into this further and evidently the m. just means it’s mobile compatible, but still. Just go directly. 💙

Sure, he's the "good" pope. He's still a pope. He gets lauded for not thinking gay people should die unloved and friendless. He thinks climate change is real and that we should care for the planet. He has the lowest of bars.
He's still going to be a shitpig who equates bodily automony with not caring for a child once it's born. Killing babies by, oh, idk, denying healthcare? Making childcare unaffordable? Forcing women into life threatening incubations?
I have never supported this guy, and he proves every day why. He's just not as evil and horrible as predecessors.
Recently I came across a saved school exam from my mom ca 1965. It was all about which pope promoted which social justice reforms like childcare and sanitation in tenements. My how things have changed.

I went to an event last Friday in Central PA. It wasn't a rally though, it was more of a small meet and greet in an airport hanger and she did not speak. So basically I drove 1.5 hours and waited approx 3 more hours to watch her descend Air Force Two and shake hands of a bunch of people much further up front than I was. It was still cool, lol.
I wish she'd come to KC but no reason to I suppose.
I get that their time is very limited, and historically only a handful of states really matter. But I think people underestimate how different things might be if people in the middle states felt seen. Here in Iowa, everyone cares about us through the caucus, and then it feels like they never show up again. I believe Obama did…and he won this state. I don’t think it’s necessarily a coincidence.

It'd be really interesting to see the campaigning shifts if we voted by national popular vote instead of winner take all electoral college. There are a ton of cities that would suddenly pop up for stops

Hey now, they go to the state fair!!
To my knowledge and my quick research, no one came this year. Candidates come the year BEFORE the caucus, but I don't think they generally come during an election year. I think that makes people in Iowa even more frustrated because EVERYONE cares about Iowa until the caucus...and then it's crickets. It feels like they don't really care about the November election, just the early election season when everyone and their grandma are still in the race.
I hope Harris does some televised Town Halls where she can further outline all of her plans. She has them, but since she had to deal with Trump at the debate, I don't think the message got across quite as clearly as it would in a town hall. Everyone has been too busy talking about eating cats and dogs than the things she actually said.
A data scientist who predicted the outcome of the 2020 presidential election and both Georgia senate races is predicting Harris will win in a landslide.

I don’t have a sub, so can’t read the article, but I really hope this is true. My heart hurts to think that it would be a super tight race. I have to believe it’ll be a landslide, but I’m working as if it’s going to be the closest election in history.
