Why is no one holding his feet to the fire on his record? Why don’t I see ads with his nonsensical egotistical Meanderings (about how great things were under him) with a stream of images of the bar shit, dangerous and terrible headlines of his four years in office -the things he and his administration had a direct hand in. Not just Jan 6th. I know there was much more shit than I can remember. And I remember there being a whole lot.

Honestly, I think the fence-sitter voters know he’s batshit crazy. But they don’t know Kamala all that well. So she’s choosing to focus on her relatively normal biography and some vision of the future.
People know he’s crazy, but some keep saying they are better off now based solely on inflation. I honestly think they forget what that crazy looked like in power and the real ways it fucked up people’s lives. They think he’s absurd but strong. They forget that they thought he was ‘hurting the wrong people.’
I’m not saying it should be Kamala’s focus. But I’m surprised no other group is doing that. There were a ton of articles like that in 2020, 2021 and 2022 (more balanced than my proposal but still talking through the realities of his tenure) that have been lost to time.
I wish she'd come to KC but no reason to I suppose.
I get that their time is very limited, and historically only a handful of states really matter. But I think people underestimate how different things might be if people in the middle states felt seen. Here in Iowa, everyone cares about us through the caucus, and then it feels like they never show up again. I believe Obama did…and he won this state. I don’t think it’s necessarily a coincidence.
This part is so frustrating. The public argument to keep the electoral college is to ensure that everyone has a voice and not one or two places when elections happen. In reality of course, the reason they want the electoral college is because they can cheat and gerrymander themselves to a win. But no one ever calls them on the real argument or that their public argument is also not true.

Ironically, the only one who I see consistently calling Trump out on his craziness and lies is former(?) Evangelical Pastor John Pavlovitz. His FB is non-stop calling out the ridiculousness. And yesterday, on Instagram, @joyannreid reposted something from @rbreich that was fantastic. It started as the 10 worst things about a Trump Presidency...and he kept adding to it until it was 75. He still missed a lot. Ugh. I admittedly had tucked a lot of that in a corner of my brain where I didn't have to think about it. I can't think about the anxiety that was on my chest 24/7/365 when he was in office. It's probably no coincidence that I've been having a flare of anxiety and BP issues again recently.

I was about to respond with that video from Robert Reich. I had to stop watching at item 50 because it was just overwhelming. I shared it for my undecided social media connections.
Can someone from PA (or not), explain how Casey is up multiple points, but Harris is sometimes ekeing it out ahead, sometimes tied, sometimes behind.
Bob Casey is a boring white dude who has been around PA forever. He's pretty moderate. His opponent is a hedge fund guy who doesn't even live in PA and has lost before. Even my conservative father thinks Bob Casey is alright, he's a "known quantity." He does better in Pittsburgh/Erie and the area around Harrisburg than other officials. He appeals to the same people that Biden did.
Kamala is a question mark to a lot of people, they fear she's a crazy liberal (which, speaking as a crazy liberal, is laughable). Also, healthy amount of racism, misogyny, etc. I know the current AG is a woman, and the LT. Governor is black, but I can't remember any other statewide official who was not a white dude.
I was just coming in to ask if anyone watched! It was so good! So many good moments (some heartbreaking), but I really think everyone needs to watch it.

Sounds like a case of absolutely refusing to learn anything vicariously from Dr. Oz.

I saw Misha Collins posted about this but I didn’t realize it was Eastern time and missed it. Talk about star power! So many cool attendees even though they are self-proclaimed nerds (Jensen said he was there to help balance it out with his cool factor - he’s still so hot!). Did anyone attend or know if there’s a recording available to watch?

I watched half the night of, but I had to stop to deal with crazy work deadline stuff and haven’t made it back to finish yet. It made me miss the Oprah show, too!

The rally on Friday was....amazing. Rallies have clearly changed since I last went to one in 2008, lol. Last time I was at a rally there were 300 people in a university gymnasium in Ohio watching Barack Obama talking in a suit. At the end there were balloons, I think?
This rally, though, was over 10,000 people in the largest venue in Madison. Dancing, music, light shows, and these cool armbands that lit up in time to the music (my kid loved those). It was hot so they had people handing out free bottles of water everywhere.
My kid (age 8) was engaged and excited for all THREE HOURS we were there. At one point during Harris' speech I asked them if they wanted to take a break and play a game on my phone, and they looked at me like I was an idiot and said, "No, I wanna hear Kamala talking."
There were sooooooo many other kids there, it was really amazing. Turns out like ten of my coworkers were also there. And my priest was there, too! The crowd was just SO HAPPY. It was the best vibe. Everyone was smiling and friendly and it was like hanging out with a bunch of new friends.
We heard speeches from Ben Wikler (chair of the Wisconsin Dems); our mayor and county executive; our Congressman, Mark Pocan; our Senator, Tammy Baldwin; our governor, Tony Evers; and then Harris was introduced by the president of the WI teamsters, who had endorsed her earlier that day.
If you have a chance to go to one, I totally recommend it. It was uplifting in a way I didn't know I needed right now.

The bracelets were cool, weren’t they? We had them too in Milwaukee for the DNC rally and I was so disappointed to get in my car and realize it didn’t work with my own music. 😂

Someone else there said they had seen them used at a concert once, but I am old and boring and haven't been to a non-classical music concert in like 14 years so I didn't know these types of things existed!

Haha, when we walked in, I saw people wearing theirs and I was like “WHERE DO I GET ONE!?” And they were like, everyone has one at their seats! 😂

Per Axios
Vice President Harris is sitting down in Pittsburgh with MSNBC's Stephanie Ruhle for her first one-on-one network interview since becoming the Democratic nominee. It airs tonight 7-9 p.m. ET on MSNBC.
The Harris Camp must have mailed out all the merch because I saw a boom of new Harris/Walz signs in my neighborhood!
I’m driving around my small city in Iowa and noticing a LOT more Harris signs than Trump signs. Today, I’ve seen over a dozen Harris and only 1 Trump.
I’m not so naive to think that there aren’t a LOT of people who are too ashamed to put a sign in their yard but not too ashamed to vote for him…but the balance of signs is definitely different this time around.
My favorite had their Christmas light-up JOY sign in their yard, too!

Per CNN
News Alert: CNN Poll: Harris and Trump are tied in North Carolina, while vice president leads in Nebraska’s 2nd District
Vice President Kamala Harris and former President Donald Trump are tied among likely voters in North Carolina, while Harris holds a comfortable lead in Nebraska’s 2nd Congressional District, according to two new CNN polls conducted by SSRS.
The North Carolina survey also shows scandal-plagued Lt. Gov. Mark Robinson trailing his Democratic opponent by a wide margin in the state’s gubernatorial race.
Both places could be key to either Harris or Trump getting the 270 electoral votes needed to win the presidency.

That's awesome! I got my sign a couple of weeks ago but the t-shirt that had a label made the same day (8/30) still hasn't shipped. I'm hoping that it comes soon along w/the designers for democracy items I ordered.
