We upgraded to a queen in August. Best money spent in a long time. Aside from having a better quality mattress, I sleep so much better just having more space.
My biggest purchase in the last month was a used iPad for $300.
$2600 sprinkler system. It was discussed, but begrudgingly.
DH and my definitions of 'necessities' need some refining.
Oh wow, how big is your lawn? Or do you mean indoors?
I see how that sentence could be misleading - definitely an outdoor system! We have about 1/3 acre with a decent sized hill. We got a rain sensor too because I refuse to be the person watering the lawn in the rain.
This is probably also one of the more unusual purchases.
(I could also mention the $1200 airfare bought for a work trip, but technically, it's not my money being spent - I charged it, and will expense it to my company.)
$13,500 cash for countertops. Next to that is $4,500 for landscaping blocks.
Whoa! How big is that kitchen?
It's for most of the house, not just the kitchen. But we paid in cash ($100 bills) for a better deal on top of other discounts. I didn't know how much $13,500 looks like in cash. I was imagining a pile of cash. LOL. With $100 bills, they fit fine in the pocket.
$600 vet bill to find out once again that Dexter has zero of the things they thought he might. Which is good, but we still don't know what his issues really are. Frustrating.
The boat. Beats any of the numbers put out here, but Sibil's car probably beats it. It was slightly less than my brand new Subaru Impreza in 2010.
I'm too chicken to put the actual number in here. But I will say we will be spending at about $5k on maintenance and upgrades over the next few months.
