DS2 started wrestling and is completely obsessed. He only has to go to 2 of 4 possible practices but wants to go to all 4. It's really cool to see your kids blossom doing something they love. Downside is I spend 6 hours a week waiting for him in the gym.
Ds3 (4) was evaluated in November & we just got the results - he doesn't score high enough for them to say 100% it's Aspergers (like DH & DS1) but scores high enough they think it is .... they are calling it "Noncategorical Early Childhood" and he has to retest at 6 years old since some of the behaviors could be from frustration due to the speech issues. He isn't ready for kinder next year but if we want OT & speech services through the school district we have to register him. We can't afford to keep him in private prek ($1k/mo), pay for speech ($200/mo) and pay for OT ($200/mo) so I guess we have to put him in kinder and just plan to have him repeat it.
He may not have to repeat it! Kindergarten terrified me, but the growth DS has shown the past 4 months truly blows my mind. Anecdotal, I know, but something positive to think about.
This would be the ideal! His preschool teachers don't think he is ready and based on his attention span/ability to sit still we don't think he is either. Maybe he will have a lot of growth though !

I know you didn’t ask this, but I’ll tell you anyway. LOL
My H dealt with a lot of trauma and abuse recovery, and he did EMDR counseling. That helped him immensely. It is very intense, and you need a good deal of downtime to recover from each session. Him being away might be ideal for him to explore something like this for himself.
EMDR changed my life. Will second this suggestion.
I'm curious if the people making Shepard's pie are using ground beef or ground lamb? I know traditionally Shepard's pie is made with lamb and cottage pie is made with beef but most people use beef and still call it Shepard's pie (we do!)
We had an issue with BOA saying they couldn't read a check I mobile deposited. After many calls a manager told me they actually outsource that. So weird!
I've had so many problems with them we are trying to determine what local bank/CU to switch to. We do have USAA but that doesn't solve the local issue.
I’ve never had an issues with USAA, and I’ve never had any other bank. Although I can’t recall ever having a time where I needed a local bank.
Have you looked at Juniper Print Shop? They have large scale prints that fit into an ikea poster frame. We have a big print in our living room and really like it!
I woke up with a swollen eyelid. Wtf?! No stye, no pink eye, no bump like I have a mosquito bite. Sigh. At least it doesn’t hurt, just looks awful.
I need to fold laundry, then pack. We’ve about decided we are going to use our bigger suitcases, since there’s no flight involved. Then just picking up around here so we can come home to a clean house next weekend!
It could be blepharitis. A warm compress and pataday eye drops helps when that happens to me.
estrellita - Bank of America made it clear it's a third party that handles the balancing (or not balancing because where are my checks!!!?) of the drive up ATMs. I will be sure to ask if there are any machines that actual branches still handle.

I think 2024 is the year I'm going to ditch the Apple Watch and go back to regular watches. I miss wearing them as an accessory and honestly I don't need the Apple Watch.
I'm considering buying this one from Daniel Wellington:
FI wants to go to Medieval Times for his birthday. I love him and I will take him, but sigh, I'm not excited. I just spent $200 on what I'm sure will be crappy food and a very cringy time for me. He humors me though and does things I want, so there's give and take. I made him promise to feed me real food either before or after.
DD1, who is 9, desperately wants an Apple watch. We said no, and her backup request is a Fitbit (or the equivalent). I'd love to find a deal, but even more important is knowing which one to get. I know nothing. Any suggestions? Thanks!
We've been happy with DSs GABB watch. They are 50% off right now.
Ds3 (4yo) finally had his eval and they agree with PDA profile of ASD but also said he may also be twice exceptional. They need to calculate his test scores to confirm all of this but they are fairly sure he will qualify for services (speech articulation, pragmatic language & ASD services) through early intervention.
Since he is behind socially we are now decided that we are going to hold him back a year and do bridge kinder at his preschool. Not thrilled with another year of tuition but it's for the best long term.
My husband is just over 6ft and we have no issues when he is in the back of our sienna. It’s not a common occurrence at all and for teens on short drives I wouldn’t let that deter you from the car.
OMG, my twins are in their last year of daycare. I am counting down the days, but also feel like we won't feel as "rich" as we are hoping to.
Whatever you do, keep them away from $$$ extracurriculars. There's a tax hit re kids older than 6, the increase in food volume, activities.... I haven't crunched the numbers but ballet and all year swim cost so much
Agreed! Wrestling for DS2 is $160/month it’s in season and karate for Ds1 is $155/month.
Even doing sports through the YMCA is expensive these days.
We got VERY lucky with Ds1s piano teacher and she only charges $30/30min lesson.
Still that puts us at over $400/month for kid activities …. DS2 hasn’t started an instrument yet & Ds3 isn’t in anything.
So Pepsi is now taking a strategy from Hermes/LV/etc and focusing on fewer, high buying customers? Soda isn't a need, but I don't think I'd ever have called it a luxury good. What's next? Cheerios?
The price of cereal is crazy! Rice Krispies were $5/small box! It’s literally puffed rice so WTF
