Race has nothing to do with it. Look at all the school shootings in the recent past. They were all white kids. Playing the race card is getting old.
Basic difference (for the dumbasses in the crowd - and by that, I really mean you): white kids shooting up schools and getting shot and killed by cops are KILLING PEOPLE. Black men getting shot and killed by cops are NOT KILLING PEOPLE.
"Hello babies. Welcome to Earth. It's hot in the summer and cold in the winter. It's round and wet and crowded. On the outside, babies, you've got a hundred years here. There's only one rule that I know of, babies-"God damn it, you've got to be kind.”
Wow. That was fast. It does look like he reaches for the gun, but I agree with everyone else that the cops pulled up too close to assess what the fuck was going on. If they had observed him for even thirty seconds, they would have seen he was just hanging in the park, minding his own business, acting like a twelve year old boy. The cops put themselves in a situation where nearly ANY move the boy made could have been perceived as threatening. If he went to put his hands up, they might have thought he was charging them with a demonic look and animal-like grunts.
I will say, though, that the cop at the back of the car (the one who shot him?) looks VERY disturbed. He is bent over, clutching his middle, putting his head on the car, and otherwise acting in an "oh fuck oh fuck oh fuck" manner.
Look, Jon, there was a time when blacks didn't have a card. The only one out there was the master race card. All right? We didn't qualify. So when the race card came out, yeah, we charged the shit out of that. All right? But nowadays we've got the gay card, the Christian card, the disabled card, the ADHD card, I had bad parents card, the fat card, the I'm the only fill-in-the-blank who works here card, the poor card...
STEWART: There's a poor card?!
WILMORE: Oh yeah, Fat Cat McRicho didn't know that, eh? ... See? I just played it on you, Jon.
Race has nothing to do with it. Look at all the school shootings in the recent past. They were all white kids. Playing the race card is getting old.
I hate this bullshit right here. Race is relevant. No one wants to be slaughtered in the street as if that is a badge to wave in pride. Shit happens to black (and brown) men and boys that doesn't happen to others. TRUTH.

What this person is saying isn't even half as offensive as the cop I know and what he routinely says on Facebook. Cops really need to go through some social media training because not only do they do their profession a disservice when they say awful things, they potentially endanger public safety by actually inciting more violence.
I know you all don't care what I have to say, and that is fine. I do hope some of you will recognize that the police are really there to help people. It is that "F**K the Police!" attitude that causes so much tension. That is until one you needs help, then it is an entirely different tune. (kiss) Peace out.
One cop to another. GO FUCK YOURSELF. You are doing nothing to help race relations anywhere. And you are giving police a bad name.
That fucktard is a cop? I missed that.
Yeah, you can really go fuck yourself. Fucking asshole. You make the good ones look like assholes, too, and that is a big part of the problem. Good cops hate cops like you. For good reason.

Yup. And all willfully ignorant people are trolls. And police officers that kill people and lie about why they did are trolls.
It's all irritating as hell because we should be getting to solving this shit instead of arguing about the existence of something that is already obvious and proven. This isn't a hypothetical or playing the victim or a race card. It's real damn life and people are burying their sons because of it. I'm so tired of ALL the trolling all over the papers and television.
And I can see with my own eyes that that child was sitting all by himself and they rolled up directly on top of him and immediately shot him. I'm not here for any shenanigans.
Lurker here, but he clearly reaches to his waistband/jacket area. I'm figuring he was probably reaching for the gun to hand it over to the officers, but that is not something that can 100% determined. He was told to put his hands up and instead he reaches for the weapon. An officer cannot be expected to just stand there and wait for whatever is coming. It is a tragedy that this boy died, and my heart goes out to his family. I feel that this could have totally been avoided had someone taught this kid not to "play" with guns (of any kind). They are not toys, even if they are labeled that way. i.e. BB guns, pellet, guns, etc. Full disclosure: I am in law enforcement. I know that you will think that I am biased, but the fact is that there are many dangerous people in this country who do pull "real" guns, knives, etc. on us and we have to react. If we waited to see what kind of weapon the person is going for, we would end up wounded or dead. It is a sad situation all around, but when it comes to my own life or someone else's, I am choosing mine. I am sure some of you will not like this response, but it is just the way it is. No officer wants to have to draw their weapon, but sometimes it is unavoidable.

And this was not a life or death situation.
Unless you are talking about the boy sitting alone minding his own business until he got shot and died.

What does this have to do with anything?
If anything, it is just more evidence that white men are the problem. The only thing school shootings & the cases we are talking about have in common are white males pulling the triggers.
White guy in CO got to murder lots of people with his real AK and had a chance to put his gun down.

I'm pretty sure that TJ Lane is white and he wasn't shot and killed after he shot up a high school or after he escaped from prison. But yeah, the color of that boys skin probably had nothing to do with it.

Well of course not - he didn't have a "weapon" on him
Also, no, there will be no trial. You know better.
Light. it. the. fuck. up. #nojusticenopeace
I'm holding out hope on this one still. The police department has been pretty forthcoming so far, including being very accommodating to protestors and community requests for dialogue.

I don't know if this is universal, but where I work you can be disciplined for what you put on FB if you are representing yourself under the profession.
Well I would imagine the largest police force in the nation would have similar requirements. I can't BELIEVE the things he posts. He is so incredibly hateful and angry. Fortunately he seems to get quite a bit of push back. It doesn't seem to deter him though. He's also himself a racial minority. Which makes it even...sadder?

You know, if one, just ONE redneck 2nd amendment gun rights activist got killed by police while carrying his loaded weapon of war through the local Kroger, then maaaaaaaybe we'd all be more hesitant to cry racism when another unarmed black child gets gunned down. (Probably not, but for arguments sake, humor me!)
But seriously, until then, people need to stop acting like race isn't contributing to this shit. I want to give LE the benefit of the doubt and assume they do want to serve and protect everyone but COME ON! Time and time again white people march around with weapons strapped all over themselves and despite the fact that they are the scariest lunatics out there, the law doesn't see them as threatening, while black children and teens minding their own business are seen as so scary that they should be shot just in case. Enough already!
So pointing a gun a people is minding their own business? Some people's ignorance is appalling.

You are a flaming asshole. Seriously, go away. The law enforcement profession is not enriched because you are a part of it.

I have to point out that open carry is legal in Ohio and you don't need any sort of license to do it.
So if this officer really though he was 20 and had a real weapon--that isn't inherently illegal. You sure as shit need to give someone more than two seconds to respond when all you suspect them of doing IS FUCKING LEGAL.

Haha! You can't even form a decent response because you know it is the truth! Until you all are fighting the crazy shit we do every single f*****g day, keep your uninformed, dumbass opinions to yourself. I've had a weapon pulled in me numerous times. How about you? Yeah, until you are dealing with that possibility every day, you STFU.
