She may be a great mom. But, the hypocrisy in the argument is troubling. These are the same people talking about not using physical punishment EVER for a child. It brings up the harsh reality that people don't see that young, Black teenager as a child (in the same way that they see their child or children that look like their child)--which brings us back to where we started.

THIS. I thought "violence isn't the answer". Except for when it is? What?

I'm not applauding it b/c she's whacking her own kid, but she was probably just SO disappointed in her baby boy that she lost it. I mean, sometimes a mom needs to lose it to get a point across b/c kids make mistakes, but the stakes are so much higher for her son if he makes a mistake here. If her teenaged boy makes a mistake in the next few weeks, he could end up killed. There is so much more on the line for him than he probably realized and his mom is so mad she's lost it.
I sort of wish it wasn't showing up on my FB b/c I'm having a hard time explaining that a mom trying to hold her son accountable is not the thing to focus on, but instead to focus on the higher stakes for her, which is to keep her son alive.
SRB must be sick of all the criticism of her hair and makeup. She's in a ball cap and neutral makeup today.
And people still critizing her look now. CNN-- uh she's wearing a under Armour ball cap cause the owner is from baltimore??? Dummies.. That is the strategic reminder of what we DO have here
TV footage from the US city of Baltimore which has been gripped by rioting shows a woman repeatedly slapping a masked boy, believed to be her son, for taking part in the unrest.
Yeah. And people are praising her for stopping her son looting.
Personally, I think she's scared shitless that he'll be killed and wanted him home.
