Today's Duggar updates from the gossip sites: Moving truck in front of Josh's house, they are moving back to Arkansas. He also hired Kate Gosslin's former body guard? And Derrick quit his job at Walmart Corporate, rumor is he and Jill are going to Nepal for mission work
A preview for the next season (before all the episodes were pulled) seemed to indicate this might have been something they were considering before everything about Josh came out.
I hope the rest of those kids get into politics and change Arkansas laws to better server child victims of abuse. I know Kate Goslin's family was into trying to fix PAs laws about child labor.
I saw in a WaPo article that InTouch reportedly has more Duggar stories coming. They've been quietly working witnesses in Arkansas for a while.
I'm all for some good celeb gossip, but just hate that this involves their kids. Can you link the article? Hopefully it's nothing worse than what's come out already.

I did think that Jessa was pretty articulate which didn't surprise me as she is a very opinionated person. Not very emotional like Jill. But yeah, it was clear they were all coached by some kind of PR person before the interviews.
When InTouch Weekly first broke the news that Josh Duggar had molested his underage sisters as a teenager, Mike Huckabee, a former Arkansas governor and 2016 presidential candidate, was one of the first to very publicly offer his support to the Duggar family. “Janet and I want to affirm our support for the Duggar family,” wrote the former Fox News host on his Facebook page, saying that even if an action was “inexcusable” that didn’t mean it was “unforgivable.”
It turns out the politician's ties to the Duggars may run deeper than just a show of support. According to CNN Money’s Brian Stelter, the Duggar family’s public image crisis is being managed by Chad Gallagher, Huckabee’s longtime political adviser. Gallagher is the founder and principal of Legacy Consulting in Arkansas, and also oversees Huckabee’s political action committee, HUCKPAC, which made the news earlier this year for awarding nearly $400,000 to Huckabee’s own family.
The connection between Huckabee and the Duggars, both Christian conservative icons, seems to run deep, as the Duggars rushed to endorse Huckabee when he announced his 2016 bid for president, dropping their support for Rick Santorum.
However, on June 4, reports emerged that the Duggars’ vociferous statements of support had been scrubbed clean from the “I Like Mike” sidebar of Huckabee’s campaign website, leading to speculation the latter’s camp was trying to distance him from the molestation scandal.
Huckabee’s senior communications adviser J. Hogan Gidley told E! News that the removal of the statements wasn’t deliberate and was merely a case of unfortunate timing: "The plan when we launched the Huckabee for President website simply was to rotate supporters' pictures the first of every month."
Specific questions were sent to Legacy Consulting and Gallagher by email and via phone call, but they did not respond to Newsweek’s repeated requests for comment.
So I guess this article also explains why Santorum didn't hesitate to condemn the Duggars- it wasn't from any principled stance, it was because he'd already lost their support.

I hope this doesn't come across bad, but I hope they dig up something that can be investigated and charged. I hope none of the other kids was abused in anyway, but I'd really love to see them get some kind of punishment, other than taking away their beloved tv show.

Ain't mad at this from the people who spank babies and shit. They believe in discipline? Well THEY should be disciplined.

I don't really follow so I don't know Jill's story, but escaping to Nepal seems like a brilliant idea, TBH. That might be what I'd do.
Although her her husband works at Walmart Corporate? Ew! How embarrassing!
Oh come on. He's an accountant at one of the biggest companies in the world. I imagine there are only so many decent jobs in Arkansas.
Honestly, I have to give to to the journalists who thought they needed to truly investigate the claims even though they were working at a publication that is not, shall we say, known for investigative reporting.

tacokick, I agree, and I have to say the media are in a sad state of affairs when fucking In Touch Weekly is the one publication that felt any kind of inclination to shine a spotlight on the abusive undertones of this community.

I'm just going to skip over that weird comment to say that people on FJ have tried emailing Derick's Walmart email and they've gotten an auto reply that says "I've accepted another position outside Walmart"
The Duggar family of TLC's "19 Kids and Counting" refused to cooperate last month when a representative from Arkansas' Department of Human Services came to check on a child on their property, tabloid magazine In Touch Weekly reported Wednesday.
The Duggar family has dominated tabloid headlines since In Touch Weekly last month published a 2006 police report showing the eldest son, Josh Duggar, was investigated for allegedly molesting five underage girls when he was a teenager. His parents later confirmed in an interview with Fox News' Megyn Kelly that four of the alleged victims were Josh Duggar's sisters while the fifth was a babysitter.
A representative from the state DHS in Washington County called police at about 11 a.m. local time on May 27 to request assistance when the representative was unable to see a minor at the Duggar's address, according to a 911 call obtained by In Touch Weekly. The tabloid report did not identify the DHS representative.
“We have an investigation and I guess they’re not being cooperative," the representative said on the call, as quoted by In Touch Weekly. "We have to see the child to make sure the child is all right. So we just need police assistance.”
The DHS representative made the call less than a week after the tabloid published the 2006 police report. It's unclear what prompted the state DHS investigation because, as In Touch Weekly pointed out, the agency's records are not available to the public.
Josh Duggar resigned his position as executive director at the anti-gay Family Research Council's lobbying shop in the fallout from the police report and TLC pulled all reruns of "19 Kids and Counting" from the air. The network has yet to make a statement on the future of the program.

Oh, this is bad. So bad. I don't think they can pray the state away.

I need pugz to come in here and explain what the process for this is. I don't think the state can just demand to be let in to a house without a warrant, even if it's for child welfare issues. So what's the next step if social services is refused access?
Wow, I can't figure out WTF they are thinking here. If they are still trying to save their cash cow TV show, this only makes them look worse.
I think their hubris right now is such that they think they're untouchable--either that or they're going to play the "we answer to a higher power, the government can't control us" tack and make themselves even more visible for the "cause of religious freedom."
I honestly don't know what the repercussions are for not letting DFS in if they show up for an investigation. It can't be good though.
please let it be removal of the kids from the home
What?!? No, sorry. I mean, I'm all for THESE kids being removed, but if CPS shows up at MY door without a warrant, there is NO WAY I'm letting them in.
NEVER LET THEM IN YOUR HOME. Under no circumstances should you let any government agent in your home unless he or she has a court order. Ask to see the warrant or order, because the CPS worker may lie and say she has one when she doesn’t. When she doesn’t have one, politely but firmly tell her that she will have to stay outside until she gets one. If she claims it’s an emergency, make her tell you what it is. Call her bluff – if it were a true emergency, she would not be asking – she’d be there with armed police officers, forcing her way in. Do not even open the door to let her look at the children.
There is no compromise on this. There are no exceptions. If you invite a caseworker into your home, you have waived your fourth amendment protection. And if the caseworker is intent on taking your children, SHE WILL FIND SOMETHING IN YOUR HOME TO JUSTIFY IT. THAT IS A GUARANTEE.
Understand that you may be threatened. You may be lied to. She may tell you that the 4 th amendment doesn’ t apply to caseworkers. That is a lie. She may tell you that she doesn’ t need a warrant. That is a lie. She may tell you that she’ll return with armed police officers. And she very well may. But that changes nothing. Even a man with a gun on your porch doesn’t change the fact that she has no right to enter your home. Listen to the words of an ex-CPS investigator:
“I wish I could shout from the highest mountain to parents to vigilantly learn their rights! If they knew what their legal rights were there would be significantly lower numbers of child removals. Social workers, unlike policemen making an arrest, are not required to inform the parents of their legal rights. All we had to do to remove a child was to show up at the home and tell the parents we came to remove the kids. Often times we would take a police officer with us (never telling the parents he was there for MY protection, not to enforce an order or warrant). 99% of the time we never had to get a warrant or court order to remove kids because the parents would be so intimidated by the officer that they would just hand their kids over and show up for court the next day. But if they had legally known their parental rights, they could simply have told me that I could not take the children unless I had a court order signed by the judge or had a warrant to remove the kids. … the majority of times parents were just intimidated and gave consent for the whole process to begin; completely unknowing of what rights they just waived.”
If officers do force their way in, do not physically resist. Make your objections clear, but stand aside. There’s no point in getting arrested, or risking injury or death. Your children need you fighting for them, and you can’t do that from a jail cell or hospital. Demand that you not be separated from your children, and that your children be interrogated only with your attorney present. (This demand will likely be ignored, but demand it anyway. The fact that they ignored you may become important in later court proceedings.)
Well, this is presuming the story they have all told about this is true to begin with. Josh asked for help? Or Josh was caught out and told on and then 'asked' for help? These people have lied and shielded and pretended for so long, I don't believe the "Josh came to us crying for help" line at all. More like "Our daughters came to us crying". But amazingly, instead, they were all completely unconscious, never asked for help, never thought Josh was a molester, and it wasn't anything at all, and it was Josh who was sooooooo upset with his actions. Fuck that. That's the party line story and I don't think it's anywhere close to the truth.
No, this presumes Jim Bob and /or Michelle knew Josh did something and didn't bother to get him any help.
