I've fallen down the reddit makeup rabbit hole. So fun. Mostly I've been reading about blending eyeshadow since I've been having trouble with it getting all muddy. I found a really good tutorial and I think (based on my reading) that I'm being too heavy handed with the blending. I can't wait to try out the new techniques I learned.

Finally made it into the Sigma store here and picked up my first brush. I'm excited they have a punch card thing for a free brush:) I've been wanting to slowly upgrade my makeup brushes so that's a nice little bonus haha.

I actually got a good Birchbox this month: - Models Co Highlighting trio (champagne, peach & bronze - probably will use them more on my eyes than face as they are very shimmery) - Baptiste Volume Spray (small can which will be perfect for my purse) - Nuxe Produigieux shower oil - I love, love, love the scent of the oil (for hair & body) so I'm pleased to get this too - Polaar Lapland body cream - feels lovely - Laura Mercier blemish-less primer foundation - the only thing that I'm not sure about as I don't have blemish prone skin but as it's recently been quite warm/humid for London, I'm sweating more so this might help keep my makeup from sliding off the skin
I got my MAC Star Trek stuff yesterday and played with it a little.
I LOVE the lipglass in Warp Speed Ahead. Sooooo pretty.
The silver (nocturnal) eyeliner kinda sucks. Perhaps I need to sorta move it a bit to distribute the pigment in the container, but it went on really watery and did not layer very well. I prefer the UD24/7 waterproof liquid liners better I think. It does have some major staying power though. I had to really work at getting it off.
I am undecided on the green (bird of prey) shadow. The color doesn't show up as green as I would like on my lid, so not super pigmented, but it's a pretty shimmer. A little bit of fallout.
That said, if anyone knows of a good foresty green shimmer or pearl shadow that does not look gray or charcoal when applied, please lmk.

I like Urban Decay Mildew. Also Mac Sumptuous Olive, but it's a little less intense. More of a khaki green.
Also Buxom No Faux is the best shadow ever*. But it's a green brown iridescent so probably not what you're looking for.

Milani has one in their naked eye shadow singles it's called emerald I believe but most certainly a forest green. Let me find a link.

I *think* Laura Mercier has both of those. I'll try to remember to check my palettes tonight.

I went to the MAC store at lunch as my paint pot is almost empty. I was hoping to get that green shadow, but they were sold out. I ended up buying the extra dimension shadow in legendary lure on the MA's recommendation. We'll see how green it shows up.
I like the on that secretlyevil,, linked better I think though, hmm. I may see if I can pick that one up too.
bimbi284, I swatched the MAC shadow I bought today. I really like it, hopefully it looks the same on my lids. I really like this formula of shadows, I have a couple others. Sorry the lighting is terrible right now, storms.
Tarte has a limited edition brush set collaboration with some YouTuber I don't know. But the set is only 39 dollars for six brushes and has several that I have been looking for separately recently. I love the few tarte brushes I have, but I am skeptical these are the same quality. I should buy it anyways, yes?

It's my understanding that brush sets are pretty much always terrible. I would pass unless some unbiased bloggers gave it good reviews.
anyone going to the rouge holiday preview event this weekend? i just got my reminder email. looking forward to checking out the holiday sets and picking up some goodies for a wedding i'm going to in a few weeks.

I signed up for it. I'm unsure about whether or not I'll attend.
We're out of town looking at apartments so I RSVP'd to the one close to there, but we might be too busy for me to go. But I figure it is important to scout the nearest Sephora!

Same. I've got pilates from 8-9, and the event is from 8:30-10. I need to find out if they will have the 4 mini Bite set in stock. If they do, then I will drive from pilates to Sephora. If not, I will wait for it online.
