I highly recommend Makeup Geek eyeshadows if anyone has interest in trying them. She does lots of swatches on YouTube so you can check out shades too. They're my favorite shadows now.
Any favorite colors? I've been thinking about trying them
This is finally pushing me over the edge to order from Colourpop!
Yep! I needed that! And I got the 4 eyeshadow and the mama liquid from fall edit. It helped I got a $5 comeback coupon last week.

I began to tackle my make up storage. I've been using an Ikea Alex but the drawers sagged in the three years I've had it. I've been sick of it. The final straw was when I couldn't get three drawers open. I looked at other options by didn't like the prices of things. Remembered I had a little desk in the garage. Pulled it out and cleaned it up. Began to death a crap ton of stuff. I'm not even close to being finished. The desk has so little storage compared to what I had. Ugh!!

What i am switching to
Mid destash
I had to work this evening. I stopped at Dollar Tree beforehand to get a few more bin options. And I'm hoping I can finish and tackle the rest when I get home tonight. Ughhhhhh.
My You've Made Rouge gift arrived today. It's a Nars blush. Looks pretty, maybe like a slightly redder version of Cabana Boy or the dark pink in the Gwen palette.
Who else has made Rouge this year? Or am I the first?

I hit it last month. I haven't really looked at the blush, and I've gotten it twice. I gave the second one to a friend.
Travel is fatal to prejudice, bigotry, and narrow-mindedness, and many of our people need it sorely on these accounts. Broad, wholesome, charitable views of men and things cannot be acquired by vegetating in one little corner of the earth all one's lifetime. Mark Twain

I saw both of these yesterday at ulta and really want to get that set!! But need to wait till payday
My tarte Pretty Paintbox collection yesterday and I LOVE it. I was concerned that I wouldn't because one review said the pigmentation was lacking. I haven't swatched all the colors but what I have, I really like. And I love the little compartment where you can put your own liners/mascara, whatever. It's definitely going to be handy for travel.
I also recently discovered IT brushes. WHY DO I NOT HAVE MORE OF THESE? I love them so much.

A word of warning: My issue with Becca is that I have suspicions that they use different, lower grade formula for their discounted sets than they do for their permanent range. Temptalia noticed last year in their blush palette that a couple of the colors differed from the permanent range. I think she had minor performance issues. The Flowerchild blush I got in a Becca set sucks ass and lasts for like an hour. But the ones I own that I bought outright (Songbird and Blushed Copper) are amazing. I think others have noticed this problem as well.
BTW I would not call Songbird peachy pink. It's more like a deep terra cotta shade. (Because it's so brown, I actually thought I bought Wild Honey and believed that's what I had for a year and only noticed when I did a reorganization that I owned Songbird, not Wild Honey. The two are very similar.) It's a gorgeous shade though, I have been wearing it a lot lately since it's so perfect for this time of year.
MauMau I love the new desk. I can't wait to see how it turns out.
Thanks! I think it was $15 at a garage sale. I bought it in spring and had no clue what I was going to do with it. I figured I'd use it for a classroom but I didn't get a teaching job. So now it's got a different purpose. But I've gotten no where on finishing up the destash. Haha.

I did, just a couple of weeks ago. The blush is pretty but I'm so pale, I have to use a very light touch or I look like a clown or like I've just climbed several flights of stairs.

LOL. I didn't try mine today because I wanted to use my Bite set that also arrived yesterday and try out Bite Nori, and decided I didn't also need heavy blush.
Bite Nori is gorgeous BTW. I have trouble with super dark lipsticks, because they often are too purple and suck all the color out of my face and make me look like I'm going to a death metal concert.
This one is very dark, but no purple to it. Just a really beautiful deep reddish brown.
ESF, were you the one looking for a burgundy eyeliner? I saw a Fiona Styles one in a magazine that looked pretty. Says it's sold at Ulta. I think the color was Orchard but not sure.

I got Crush, which has been on my wish list for awhile.
I am boring. The only thing I picked up from the Ulta 21 days sale was the Clarisonic BOGO deal. I also grabbed the Kat Von D Project Chimps lipstick and that color switch from Sephora.
Well this is where I ended last night. I hate those stacking blue bins. So I bought a plastic drawer to try. It might be too big. I really only have lip stuff left. The drawers on the desk are finished.

So, I consider myself to be pretty good with different makeup techniques, but I've never successfully put false lashes on myself. There is quite a bit of curve at the base of my lashes and I think that contributes to it. On youtube, I saw a few people mention that they put the lashes underneath the lash line, instead of on top and I decided to give it a try. I was successful it two tries! Ive tried false lashes countless times before and never got anywhere close to getting them to stick, and it looks fairly natural too. I do feel them, but that could be because I've never worn them before, but they're not uncomfortable at all. I did cut the lashes in half and put them in separately. Pics below
Oh, and the eye with lashes is slightly more hooded than my other eye. it looks like the lash is closing off my eye, but it isn't at all, its the angle of the pic and the fact that its more hooded on that side.
I'm really trying to use makeup correctly. I'm not great at it but attempting. I use a combo of high end and drug store makeup. I would love to use all high end but my budget won't allow it. I'm really just learning how to contour and highlight. YouTube has been my best friend. I hope you guys don't mind me jumping in. I'm slowly getting better.
