ESF, were you the one looking for a burgundy eyeliner? I saw a Fiona Styles one in a magazine that looked pretty. Says it's sold at Ulta. I think the color was Orchard but not sure.
Thanks for the tip! I can't find a swatch online but will look next time I'm in a store. Based on what i could tell from the picture of the product, it might be more purple than I had in mind.
Also I think I don't know what "burgundy" is, because every suggestion online I've seen for burgundy liner is very, very purple. I thought burgundy was red. Like dark brownish red that was somewhat purple, but in the red family, not in the purple family.
I'm really trying to use makeup correctly. I'm not great at it but attempting. I use a combo of high end and drug store makeup. I would love to use all high end but my budget won't allow it. I'm really just learning how to contour and highlight. YouTube has been my best friend. I hope you guys don't mind me jumping in. I'm slowly getting better.

You'll fit right in. I also use a mix of both high end and drug store.

I think maybe I want maroon?
Your definition and mine match. The MU world is very liberal with the definition.

Mally eye shadow sticks came yesterday. Not sure about them, colors are slightly different than what I thought they'd be. Also, even after letting sit on my hand for a bit they seem to wipe off pretty easily. Going to give them a shot.
ETA: so this morning's swatches aren't wiping off as easily.

Do you typically use primer with shadow sticks? I don't, and I don't know why it didn't occur to me. The LM staying power isn't great but maybe with primer...

I used the Stridex this morning in an attempt to be like the cool kids, and I'm red as hell. I think it's just too much with my nightly retinoid.
I think I'll start with alternating the St. Ives exfoliating pads with lactic acid and retinoid nightly, and try that for a while. The retinoid alone just isn't enough to deal with my post-acne pigmentation.

I use primer no matter what - cream or powder, high end or drug store.
Yesterday I went makeup shopping with two of my neighbor-friends. One of them is working on refreshing her look overall and be and the other woman both love makeup. I helped her pick out a tinted moisturizer (NARS), we helped her with a beginner eye shadow palette (the cooler of the Naked Basics), and she picked up one of the Bite lipstick/balm combos. I think it was a good start. She was getting so overwhelmed in Sephora.
I also picked up a Bite pencil duo in Tannin and Quince. I love it so far. The Sephora 100 point perk in Gazpacho is very pretty too.

I started always using primer recently. I bought hard candy 12 hour primer that has been doing the trick with a setting spray when done.
Normal hand washing throughout the day, swatches look like they did this morning. I take back what I said. Keeping!
I bought the shimmering mauve and have been very impressed with the staying power and non creasing abilities. Kind of wish I had grabbed more, but I am loving the color I chose.
I am in AZ for the week and it is doing amazing things for my skin and hair. No frizz in my hair and it looked great at 9pm last night. I never touched up my makeup yesterday and I wasn't an oil slick. It just shows how much of a difference climate makes.
MauMau, no idea. I put the sleeve back on and I'm complaining to FFF. They also included a sample of Secret deodorant. Um, thanks? I'm probably going to cancel. So dumb.
mp, I haven't tried it yet either. But I can't imagine a knockoff being as good. I have no idea what the hell I'm going to do with it.

So I'm on the fence with The malls eye shadow sticks. They don't really seem that much different than elf's smudge pots and are way more expensive. I do like how they're in a stick though but not sure that is worth the extra $$.
This is finally pushing me over the edge to order from Colourpop!
I just placed a colourpop order (I haven't bought any makeup in 3 months! LOL) and I passed up that blush. Now that I see this pic I'm hating myself for not ordering it.
I ordered the Calypso satin lip, the Zingara eyeshadow set and Tang eyeshadow single.

I don't understand how lip palettes work. How do you reapply while you're out? Do you take the whole thing?
This is where I am. I have one that came with an eye palette and I love some of the colors, but I apply in the morning and then bring something similar in my purse with me which makes the point of the palette seem pointless.
