I am genuinely here as well. If, god forbid, we get to that point, I would need this board to seriously give me the reasons why I should be voting instead of writing someone else in.
@@@ In a sign of how far we have fallen as a nation, when faced with these possible choices I honestly have to say to myself "Well, at least Sanders/Bloomberg won't put kids in cages" in order to make sure I vote for the D candidate no matter what. Even here in blue NY. That is where we are right now.
I am not sure that he would actually make any changes at all. Seriously.
I cannot fathom how someone who claims to be a democrat can hate Bernie so much that they would vote for Bloomberg. He is vile. And if we elect him we lose all ground on claiming we care about racism, sexism, sexual assault, class equity, democracy...
My answer depends on whether or not Bloomberg is still going to drop $$$$$ in supporting the Dem candidate, even if it isn't him. (he has previously said he will consider doing this).
I don’t think he would drop money on Sanders. Didn’t he threaten to run independent if Sanders got the nomination in 2016? I’m pretty sure he’s running because he’s scared of taxes under Sanders and Warren so I don’t think he’d help Sanders win.

Yup. I don't care who has a better chance at beating Trump because I don't know that Bloomberg is actually any better than Trump in the ways that actually matter (ie: things that the president has sole jurisdiction over via executive order etc.) Would be put kids in cages? I don't fucking know.
ETA: I truly thought I hated Bernie the most lol. I still think he’d be a disaster for down ballot races which is my main concern. But Bloomberg is vile to me even though some of his ads are hilarious.

And honestly, shame on the DNC for treating Bloomberg as a real candidate. He’s our Trump, we need to respond accordingly. *This* is where our safeguard of superdelegates is critical.
Ugh. So, I live in NYC and could easily see lots of interest in Bloomberg here (mostly for nostalgia reasons...it seems like we hate everyone when they're currently mayor but then they leave and we're like "ah the good ol' days!!!"), but...we don't matter in November.
Basically, I would vote for who is more likely to flip back PA, MI and WI. And believe it or not, I think that's Bernie.
My old rep was Grace Meng (I moved, she's still in Congress). My favorite comment I've ever seen on her facebook page is "You haven't done anything. I miss when we had Anthony Weiner."
Bloomberg hands down. He has a lot of issues, but he has a great gun control track record and is not a shouty old man fake Dem. And I don't think Bernie can beat Trump.
Yeah, no. He is definitely a fake Dem. A sexist, transphobic asshole.
Fair enough. I don't think Bernie is a dem either. This is really a choice that I will never have to make so it's all just a crappy who sucks less.

I am physically ill typing this...Sanders. I don't trust Bloomberg with his record of stop and frisk. HOWEVER, others not from this board are saying Bloomberg is the only one who can beat 45 and I am all...WTF?

... yep.
What? In addition to the grossness of Anthony Weiner, he held a different seat.

Yeah I'm confused too.
Also, when I think about the shitty people that come from here, I'M SORRY AMERICA.
(See also: Guiliani, Kerik, Cohen, and the Kushners but sort of since they're from NJ but had business dealings in NYC)

I think due to redistricting, the actual congressional district # is different. But he did represent Forest Hills at one point in time. Or so says Wikipedia.

But it's confusing because he was a Congressman, not a mayor like Bloomberg was so I'm confused about what Meng is trying to say here. Weiner and Bloomberg were in office at the same time.

lol, no someone commented on her facebook page that he missed Anthony Weiner.

Yup. Bloomberg smugly saying “I worked hard for my money” in the debate last night was all I needed to see.

I have had so many brainfart moments today so nooowwww I finally get what you were saying, sorry!

In this current climate, with unemployment being so low, there is toooooooo much "socialist government will kill America" sentiment for some as far left as Sanders to win. After this impeachment debacle, there is no way he will beat Trump.
So while I would be scratching my skin off and needing a shower after, I would vote Bloomberg.
I cannot fathom how someone who claims to be a democrat can hate Bernie so much that they would vote for Bloomberg. He is vile. And if we elect him we lose all ground on claiming we care about racism, sexism, sexual assault, class equity, democracy...
Reminder: everyone on this board isn't a democrat.
So if there is a poll, it should probably be:
I'm a democrat and would vote Bernie I'm a democrat and would vote Bloomberg I'm a repub... I'm a 3rd party or indepenent...
I am physically ill typing this...Sanders. I don't trust Bloomberg with his record of stop and frisk. HOWEVER, others not from this board are saying Bloomberg is the only one who can beat 45 and I am all...WTF?
If you live in a red state, you hear a lot of this sentiment, sadly.
"Ain't no way I'm votin' for no socialist."
"I don't want to stand in line for toilet paper - I'd vote Trump over [insert every other Democratic candidate] any day."
Sanders. But if Bloomberg won I’d vote for him over trump. Trump is a proven garbage human being with zero conscious or soul. I’m willing to give Bloomberg a chance to prove he’s less awful. I’m not donating one cent nor am I canvassing. I’ll turn up on ejection day and vote D. A little less awful is still a small improvement which is fucked up and all but that’s where we are (hypothetically).

Please don't make me pick between these two... I'm not excited about either, but I would have to say Bernie, I guess.
I want Bloomberg to keep making funny videos attacking Trump, but drop out of the race. I want him to use his money to just personally attack Trump over and over and not try to be the nominee. Can I choose that?
I’m not sure. The people sanders had chosen to run and lead his campaign are no different than who trump has surrounded himself with. Yes men (and women) who are dishonest, demonize the media, and who I ultimately think have a goal of dividing the country. I think they are much like trump.
