What makes you so sure that Bloomberg would make better decisions regarding immigration or the SC?
I’m not a Bloomberg fan but Ds would hold him accountable and wouldn’t let him be what Trump is the way Rs are. Trump and Rs are a whole other level with this shit.
I’m not sure they’d hold him accountable. I hate to say it. When you’re in power, all of a sudden some things are ok. I mean they’d hold him accountable if Bloomberg put kids in cages but am sure for some things they’d hold their nose if Bloomberg is passing stuff. I don’t expect them to be out there daily criticizing an elected democratic president even though he’s not a dem.

I disagree.
The GOP was initially hostile to Trump because he said the quiet part out loud and they feared a complete electoral shellacking, not because he had any serious policy disputes with the GOP. Trump however does what they want - he appoints their judges, gave massive tax breaks, and is destroying the Dept of Ed, EPA, etc. all wins for them.
For the Dems to refuse to hold Bloomberg accountable, he’d have to be doing super progressive stuff while....not? Like he will give us a good judge and a bad judge and we will just vote for the bad one...? I don’t know, I just don’t see it.
The other big difference is the party makeup. The GOP is some rich people manipulating a monolithic group of rural white people. The Democrats are a much broader coalition of interest groups and it takes far more than a Tucker Carlson episode to keep everyone in line. Too much of an incentive to primary him to get a real Democrat in there.
I got my first campaign related text. It was from Bloomberg and I was looking forward to some snark. All they said in response was "ok I'll take you off the list"

dang it
I got a phone call today. Actually, my husband did, but I took it since I'm the one who cares (lol.) Asked if I'd received my ballot (yes) and if I'd decided on my candidate. I responded my candidate was no longer in the race and when asked said Kamala and Julian were my top choices. I got an "Oh, okay, I'll take you off the list." They wanted to know if I'd volunteer for the campaign. Should have kept my mouth shut until they'd gotten to that part because boy would that have been fun! (Especially since today was Canvass for Liz and so far it looks like I'll be supporting Amy in the primary if she holds out past Super Tuesday.)
