Ours does 2 trial days where you can leave them for however long you want. I'm going to do half day and be at home in case she needs me and then the next day is a full day. We are at a center.
She'll be at the center at work which will be nice. I'll be off the week she starts so hopefully it won't be so bad. I'm looking forward to going back to the gym when she goes in those days.
If you want long & character-driven, go with the Justin Cronin trilogy that starts with The Passage. Bonus because the 3rd and final was just released. It's mainly set 100 years post-apocalypse, but goes a lot into how the downfall started. It's really amazing, but definitely long.
I also loved how it ended. It did not disappoint in the least.
I read Red Rising and really enjoyed that one. The book left out a lot I felt but it was an easy fast read. The second book just came up on my library queue so I haven't started it yet to see if the series is still captivating.
I thought the second one was the best.
I'm on the second Queen of the Tearling. It's decent.

We try to pick out clothes the night before. DD is particular about her appearance and doesn't always match, but this is not a battle I fight. Also, all of DD's everyday clothes are basically in one drawer. She pulls out what she wants.
Re: hair. I have to remind H to brush it, and he can make a reasonable ponytail. DD won't ask him to do anything beyond that, but she is also content to wear hair her down.

I might skip the 9am if it will be busy and your boobs can take it. And just pump when you wake up (again unless your boobs will explode due to the extra hour of sleep).
tulips - your kids are July and October right? Mine too! I think I might just buy the same ones as you...
yup! Opal is the standard Oct. birth stone, but I'm rough on my rings and was told it wouldn't hold up that well to daily wear, so I went with the alternate tourmaline stone.
I have a tourmaline ring for DD because I don't like opals.
Semi-related I HATE the smell of baby powder. HATE HATE HATE. I do not understand why this is the predominant fragrance of deodorants everywhere, either.

I didn't do anything. I worked out during my first pregnancy, but not my second. Second recovery was easier because I didn't labor; exercise didn't matter.
I've recently seen multiple people refer to pedicures as a necessary thing in their lives and I'm just like... huh.
I'm one of those people
I'm not even that high maintenance, but after having someone else trim my toenails and clean up my cuticles or so long, I know I could never do it as well as the professionals.
I recently started getting them at lunch, when it's less crowded, so I don't have to find time on weekends. So much more efficient!
ETA: I go monthly, not weekly. And I only take DD if she's getting her nails done, too.

Sure. He would probably still bring in music income because that's his dream. I would have flamefully high expectations of how clean our house would be lol, but otherwise, it would work for us.

I love Aubrey so much (though not with Madison)! And it's weird that he wants to use his sister's name because it "goes." Of course it does, he's been hearing it for years lol.

We don't do before care. I walked DS to his classroom for YEARS, but DD ran out of the car on the second day lol.
When they started K, they started with half days (and couldn't go to after care), so I picked them up then. But as soon as it was possible, I didn't pick them up.
I'm weirdly proud / ashamed of how many cars and trucks I can name these days.
I used to feel this way about dinosaurs... not only that I could identify them, but that I could also pronounce their names lol.
DS slept until 8am. I can probably count the number of times he's done this in his almost-decade of life on one hand. He's also been eating like it's his job, which I assume means he's growing.
DD is cooking breakfast. (FB friends may have seen that she cooked dinner the other night, too.) She put up a sign outside the kitchen requiring us to ask her permission to enter. Pancakes are apparently on the menu, though I'm not sure she is following the proportions on the box. We'll see lol.

That whole plate offends me.
I'm going out with friends tonight, but we still don't know where we're going or what time we're meeting. Making plans with these people is like pulling teeth!

DS (9) isn't an enthusiastic reader, but liked Captain Underpants, Geronimo Stilton, Spirit Animals, Dragon Masters. Also comic books and nonfiction like Minecraft guides lol.
DD (6) likes Fancy Nancy, Mercy Watson, and books about holidays.
I know food confessions are lame, but here's mine. I went out for my long run tonight and ended up in the line at shake shack 1 mile into it. Now I'll walk that mile back with my burger in hand. Still debating whether I'm getting a shake, too. As long as I screwed up the run anyway, may as well, right?
