Hip flexors? Definitely sounds like the bike would cause that. Have you tried stretches to stretch your hip flexors/pelvis? You can probably find some to do online.
My FIL is a highly functioning alcoholic and abuser of pills. He is an ER physician and has never once had an issue with work. He was, by all accounts, a good dad, though maybe a bit distant as DH and his brother grew older.
MIL struggled for a very long time, but it all came to a head about 2 years ago. FIL drove home drunk (not the first time...) and ran his car into the side of the garage. Tore off the side mirror and left a huge dent in the garage door frame.
There are many, many functioning alcoholics out there. That doesn't mean they don't or can't cause problems for their families and loved ones. I think you are thinking about this rationally and that you will be able to make whatever decision is right for you and your family. But, please don't ever think that leaving your H would be bad for your children. They pick up on the tension and his drinking whether you know it or not.
Good luck and lots of hugs. If he is willing to get help, I would urge you to push him to pursue that. DH hasn't spoken with his dad since July. It breaks his heart and is a very sad situation all around. I wish his dad would acknowledge that he has a problem.
I mentioned this in randoms last week, but I was talking to a gentleman at the bar who was black and his wife (and her family) were immigrants from Central America. And yes, he was a Trump supporter. Like, what??
It makes no sense to me. This person on my FB feed basically said, "you take the good with the bad."
"It seems clear President Obama made this nomination not, not with the intent of seeing the nominee confirmed, but in order to politicize it for purposes of the election," McConnell said.
for real LOL
See, and if he had picked a true liberal, I might actually agree with McConnell here. But Garland? L-O-L
This is not a give-no-fucks-Obama move. I'm hoping WanderingWinoZ is right- he's a sacrificial lamb to prove a point. I actually kind of hope the GOP sticks to their current stance. This nomination doesn't make me happy.
What would be the point of a give-no-fucks nomination? The GOP are in control so it would be the same thing as making no nomination at all. You can't accuse the other side of not coming to the table if you're not either. Obama named two liberals already. Adding in one moderate still puts him ahead of what was there when he came in.

Right. My point was that I was hoping this was a calculated move to prove a point. I hope (and it now sounds like this will be the case) that the GOP won't move on Garland. I'd rather swing the court to the left, instead of throwing another moderate in there, especially one who might be easy on law enforcement issues. So, no, the nomination doesn't thrill me if, by some chance, he ends up on the court.
I think this could have gone one of two ways: either Obama was calculated and nominated a right-leaning moderate with appeal for all sides, or he went into give-no-fucks mode and nominated the most liberal person there is. He obviously did the former, therefore, this was not a give-no-fucks move.
And, quite frankly, a nomination of any sort is coming to the table. The Senate is welcome to throw it out if they decide they don't like the nominee. You think a Republican president at this time would nominate a moderate? No way in hell. I like to think the Democrats are better at bridging the divide, but sometimes it gets exhausting to be the ones who try to play fair.

Getting your termination fee paid without trading in your new phone.
Oh, I think it was a total fluke! The guy at the store said he could take our phones right then or they would send us an envelope to mail them in. I wanted to keep my phone because I was concerned about data not transferring. They never sent an envelope, but did send the gift cards to cover the termination fee. I've been waiting to get some kind of charge on my account, but it hasn't happened yet. We signed on for these plans in April last year, so...
Slate is putting on a podcast a few times a week for the foreseeable future to follow Trump and try to figure out what the hell is wrong with this guy.
The first one came out today and was 15 minutes.
I can't stop laughing about it. I keep thinking of Potterwatch.
God, I am fucking worthless today. I want so badly to get some stuff done and cross things off my to-do list, but I can't even make myself get started.
What I don't get about the analogy is how do some of these things even effect other people? Okay if I'm used to the right away when I'm walking and now I have to move, I guess I can see that. But if I'm straight and all of a sudden gay people can get married too, how does that take anything away from me or change things for me? I can go on living my life exactly the same as before.
I think it's a combination of "back in my day" and not wanting prejudices to come to light. If gay people can get married and it's an openly accepted practice, it's hard to disparage that because one assumes that others are ok with it. You show your true colors when something becomes the new mainstream belief.
Also, and this may be the bigger piece of it, when people you have generally considered to be beneath you are given more privilege (like the ability to get married, or imprisoning a cop who needlessly shot a black man, thereby giving black people a voice) it means there is less of a difference between you and that person or group of people. Perceived or not, that's a threat to someone who considers himself better than others.
My dad will make fun of how important gay marriage is to some people or the new laws coming into effect that allow transgender people to choose the bathroom they identify with. If I press him further, he actually doesn't care at all if gay people are allowed to be married and can't give me a reason why it's a problem for people to use the bathroom they identify with. For him, it's uncomfortable to know that people he has considered other, or weird, now have the same rights as he does.
I probably did a terrible job explaining that, but it (sort of) makes sense in my head.
