Not much today. We have meetings and training about working from home, which will take up a lot of today.
Tonight we are going to the gym and my friend is coming over with her mom to pick up her wedding dress for Saturday. May have to have a drink with MH later on, since we need to sit down and compile a list to send to the architect doing our floor plans of everything we want to see in our new house. Now that it's here, I feel frozen. There are so many decisions!
Hopefully that straightens her out, or at the very least she stops whining. Negativity is really exhausting.
My vent: my manager is stressing out about everybody starting to work from home, so she is starting to micro manage every little thing. It's driving everyone insane. We are adults, we know what we are doing! Calm down.
I won't lie, the maintenance on our Mini has cost us so much money already. Granted, it was in warranty until the beginning of this month so it could have been worse! Still love it, but holy shit! The last time we also had a BMW loaner, so that was a plus. Ours is not brand new, so I am not quite looking forward to repair/maintenance costs now that it is off of warranty. MH likes to argue that it's so fun to drive the price is worth it. Haha
It rained all weekend and was in the low 40s so the house is clean, all the laundry is done, and I made homemade soup and buns. We had the windows open almost all weekend. It was great!
On a low note, MH's grandma passed away Saturday. I am happy for her, as weird as that sounds, but sad for my MIL, who was in Scotland and couldn't get home in time.
We finally got our pre-approval for our new house! Sent to the builder yesterday who is setting up a meeting with the company who will make our floor plans! Finally things are moving.
Week so far has gone smoothly. I am working at home today, so it's been pretty quiet!
No alcoholic beverages are on the menu tonight. No plans but going to the gym, and combining that with alcohol, while potentially fun, sounds dangerous!
How did you sleep last night? Briefly! I am tired today What are you up to today/tonight? Gym tonight. I have gained too much weight lately and we really need to get back to it! Then spreading grass seed on the side of our house. Exciting stuff here What is your favorite summer memory so far? Buying our new lot. Possession is Oct 1st and the basement should be in by Oct 15th! If you had $10,000 and you could only use it for a vacation, where would you go? Bora Bora If you had $500.00 for a vacation, where would you go? Probably Whitefish, MT
Friday night I caught up with some friends at a microbrewery for HH. Tried out a new restaurant and had the BEST gazpacho!
Saturday we went to the trail for a few hours, went out to dinner later. Rented a movie afterwards and relaxed at home.
Yesterday I cleaned the house; my ILs are staying with us Tues - Tues. They're going to be house hunting back up our way. S's dad has had some issues lately and I think they would like to be closer to family rather than being so far away from everyone.
I like for everything but S's dad. I hope he's ok and their house hunt goes well.
Friday I flew into Calgary and one of MH's best friends was on the flight, also flying to Vancouver. He was going to see his brother for the weekend. Our flight to Van ended up being cancelled and the next flight was 6 hours later. We immediately hit up a bar in the airport and started drinking. All of a sudden 4 hours had gone by, so we checked in with the airline. They had a flight leaving in 20 minutes we could get on. As it turned out it was a new plane they brought in for our flight since the late flight was delayed until almost midnight.
Saturday was the funeral and MH and I left at 5am Sunday to drive home. Longest drive ever, but we made it and are alive to tell the tale.
I went into work today and our Internet and phones went down. I came home to work and cannot connect to our intranet, so I am currently waiting for the help desk to call me and watching Live with Kelly and Michael.
@ello - Is that your regular schedule? I wou love to work 4 10 hour days of it meant a long weekend.
sapphire bou - good job on the running. We started back at boot camp last night and I get the sore feeling.
We signed paperwork on out lot last night. As of October 1st, we will be able to start building! Now who knows if we will start then, but I am excited but nervous. I just want a new house with the same mortgage and taxes, but that definitely isn't going to happen.
MH is driving with his brother out to Vancouver today and I will be flying out Friday. His cousin's daughter's funeral is Saturday, then we will drive home Sunday. So not looking forward to any of it.
We are putting an offer in on a lot today! Then we will eventually need to decide on a builder, but at least our lot won't sell while we take our time deciding and all the pressure will be off!
My Saturday was so good! Went for breakfast, went to my parents and found out my aunt left my brother and I am small inheritance, which was so unexpected. Then Sunday morning we found out my husband's cousin's 6 year old drowned out by Vancouver and her dad is still missing. They just found their boat. H's parents and sister went to Van yesterday and we are supposed to go sometime this week, but I don't want to. I have only met the cousin a couple times and feel like I don't really belong in this scenario and I really have no right to be there in this moment, if that makes sense.
We were finally given the date we are starting to work from home on. We are hopefully starting to organize this weekend.
Tonight and tomorrow we are going to meet with 2 more builders and Friday is a BBQ at my house for my birthday that I had to reschedule. Drinks, food and friends is a great way to start the weekend!
