OrangePixyStix I made sure to let him know what an awesome husband he is!
latte At what stage is the construction on your house?
We have a long way to go! June 6th is estimated move in date, but things keep getting pushed back (of course). Like doors and windows were supposed to come this week, now it's next Friday. Right now they are still framing. Everything outside is done (farming wise), they are just working on the inside framing.
We are supposed to go to one of MH's clients for drinks tonight, but I really don't want to, so I hope he agrees to cancel.
Tomorrow we are going to a film festival and will try and climb into our house to see the progress. I also need to do some cleaning and we will be watching football.
Sunday will be more of the same, football and relaxing.
Go to the gym 3-4x a week and not eat so much crap. That translates into meal planning and prep weekly.
Focus on our marriage by doing 1-2 date nights weekly.
Weekly budget meetings with MH and hopefully not repeat 2015, which was basically a year of uncontrolled spending.
And other things like get more sleep, read 52 books, put my phone down more, take more pictures and spend 10-15 minutes before bed tidying up and doing quick cleaning tasks. I am sure there are more that I have already forgotten, but I did write them all down.
Omg some of these songs make me go blind. Especially when they're are 10 tiles all blacked out, the fuck how am I gonna get all them with two thumbs. Lol.
This is when you use your index fingers. Well you need to start with your index fingers because there is no way to switch between the two once you are playing.
I am 35 and my friend who does my hair kindly informed me 6 months ago, that my hair was growing in fully grey. This last appointment, she let me know it's now coming in all white. It's not wiry yet though. My grandma had all white hair from her mid 30s as well. Not something I was hoping to inherit!
We do the same thing every year. It's annoying but it goes:
Christmas Eve: dinner with the IL's and another family, then out to my parents 30 min away for apps and we play a game and open a present. Christmas Day: IL's for breakfast (my family also comes), then exchange gifts with them, play a game, then go home to open our presents, then out to my parent's for supper. It's exhausting.
I'm usually pretty laid back at work and not much irritates me, but OMG the person sitting on the other side of my cube clears her throat EVERY. OTHER. MINUTE. ALL. DAY. LONG. Holy crap, it's driving me batty; I can still hear it over my earbuds.
I should offer her my bag of lozenges. I'm irrationally annoyed.
Ahh! I had a lady that used to sit next to me and do that. So annoying and not at all unreasonable!
What did you get your DH/SO? - clothes for work. He starts his new job in Jan, and need to be spiffy at all times! Ha. Then a casual sweater I picked up in Belgium, a new Venti Starbucks tumbler, and stocking stuff. Did you make cookies this year? What kind? -Cranberry orange, ginger snap and peanut butter blossoms. The rest of the baking wasn't cookies What is your favorite part about this time of year? - I love it all! It's my favorite time of year! Any family you are dreading seeing? - no, but am dreading all the back and forth between places. Next year, Christmas at our place. You want to come, see you then, if not I don't care! Do you have snow? - yes we just got it over night. Sex on Christmas, yay or nay? - sure!
Sorry to hear about the bumps in the road. We all go through it and you two have been through so much with work, building a house, etc. that it was probably inevitable. The best thing is that you recognize it so you can fix it. ((hugs))
Thanks! Yeah, definitely stressful for sure! 2015 was not our year. Hopefully 2016 will be a lot better
What are you looking forward to during this holiday season? - The week off I have after Christmas and spending some more time with our families.
Anything you have yet to accomplish in 2015? - Maintaining a gym routine
Any goals for 2016? - get into better shape by sticking with the gym - decide whether to sell or rent our current house when our new house is finished - for both MH and I to get new vehicles - work on our marriage.. We seem to be in a bumpy place lately, but at least we both recognize it and are trying to make it better.
What are your NYE plans? - nothing yet, but I am assuming something low key. I am pretty sure all of our friends are going out of town to go skiing.
I made pasta once for a gluten free friend and used Catelli brand gluten free pasta and it tasted pretty close to regular pasta. I think in the States the brand is called Ronzoni, which I have never tried, but I'm pretty sure it would be the same.
Tonight I am going out to my parents to hang out with my nephews before they go home.
Tomorrow I need to finish up my shopping, do some returns, and do some more Christmas baking.
Sunday I plan on really not doing anything. Maybe watch football while wrapping presents. I might go to my parents again, but it depends on when my brother and SIL get there.
Friday I did some errands and did some Christmas shopping, then met up with MH and a friend for drinks.
Saturday I finished Christmas shopping for my brother and wrapped a bunch or presents. MH and I went to my parents because my brother, SIL and neephews were here and we were having our Christmas. The nephews are staying the week because Brother and SIL are going to Vancouver.
Sunday I hung out at my parents for a bit, then went did some more shopping, had a nap, made dinner and then made some fudge and caramels to send my friend today. Also, I stopped by the new house and discovered that we have a drain in the garage floor! I had mentioned it when we were drawing up floor plans, but was told the city probably wouldn't approve it, since they don't like them. I hadn't thought twice about it since, so I was quite surprised to see a drain sticking up in the middle of the ground! So helpful in the winter. Now the snow can melt off the cars and just disappear!
I am leaving for a short 3 day getaway after work tomorrow Our basement is scheduled to be dug this week! Finally! (a month behind schedule!)
I have slept max 4 hours a night lately Yesterday I noticed that some of the clear coat on MH's car has come off, almost like a chemical was applied to it. Wtf!?
Tonight I am cleaning and putting up Christmas decorations.
Nice!! I put up my new, festive Christmas shower curtain the other day, but I *think* I am going to hold off decorating until next weekend.
I also bought these for my sister and me:
Love that! We are gone the next couple weekends, so I thought this weekend was best. I actually wasn't even going to, but this is our last Christmas in this house, so I figured, what the hell!
