I don't have it all together, but I am in a decent spot.
I also WFH and have been in a bad habit of not getting out of my pjs until daycare pickup time (and I too am one of the last parents there at 5:15 - wtf do these people do?!?).
I plan out dinners on Sunday and grocery shop. During the week I do meal prep before heading out the door for pickup so that we can eat within 15-20mins of walking in the door.
I am struggling with getting in my workouts. I bought a treadmill and have used it TWICE in 6 weeks. yesterday, I changed to run and grabbed my ipad to get on the treadmill and made the mistake of checking my email. there was an issue that I had to address immediately which ended up taking a couple hours so I never ended up working out. UGH.
One thing that helps tremendously is a weekly housekeeper. She cleans, folds laundry, and changes/washes linens.
The sad part is that I am technically part time, but my job is still so demanding that I end up working a lot of nights after DS is down. that really sucks because that is basically my me time.
Can you somehow combine that treadmill with your workspace? Walking at 1.9mph while I work at my standing desk has been an absolutely game changer for me activity-wise.
To keep on theme, I need this because I basically haven't worked out other than walking in 18 months.
I've been skipping whole sessions - like going from pumping twice at work to once. My supply also drops right before my period so I use those times to cut a session - haven't had any discomfort or problems.
The only thing that worked for me was a full wardrobe of vionic footwear. I kick the flip flops off when I'm on the couch or in bed, but my feet touch the floor straight into them. Rolling on a frozen water bottle before bed also helped me a lot
Using the device that is showing the ban, google "what is my IP address" and PM me that number. I'm sure it's just that someone was previously banned under that IP and now you've been assigned it. But I should be able to fix if that's the case.
I am LMFAO at the thought of all the diner en blanc folks who were almost certainly riding metro for the very first time for this event, all dressed in white, lugging a bunch of crap.
LOLOLOL
That was totally me. Lol And, AND! you could just walk right on to the metro! They gave me a tap card, but there were no turnstiles or nothing! How the hell is LA supposed to get an awesome public transportation system if anyone can just step right up without paying? I thought I was getting bussed to the location in a air conditioned van or something. I mean, WTF did I pay all that money for??

The last I heard we had an extension until October 2018...which is the same month they intend to start offering a compliant license, so I guess they are hoping for another extension to give people time to actually get that license?
Add me to the "wtf have you been doing for 12 years?!" train.
Yes that is me! Pregnancy put me in remission but as I nurse less it's coming back. I've had it since 2010.
I recommend you start with a Zyrtec and a Zantac (yes Zantac! It's another kind of antihistamine) morning and night daily. A lot of folks get relief from that combo. Xolair can also help but it's injectible so it is a huge time suck. But it has been a miracle for me. Sorry you are dealing with that!
So far it only crops up with prolonged exposure in conjunction with exertion. Like tight bike shorts for 4+ hours. Well...and if i really smack myself on something. Like if i walk into the coffee table ill get a big itchy red welt that fades into a normal bruise. But always itchy weal first. I imagine thats related?
So...zyrtec+zantac Would it work if I only did it on days I expected a reaction or is that the kind that needs to build up?
Interestingly I actually took a zantac both days...I use aleve when my knee acts up and it gives my heartburn so I pair it with zantac. (I'm a mess...)
I should probably run this combo past my doctor becasue at this point I'd be up to an aleve, a zantac and a zyrtec before hiking or biking and I have no idea if that's all ok together.
Be careful about the Aleve... My allergist has me off all NSAIDs all the time because they act as an amplifier on histamine. So if you're having a base level reaction it can make it worse. Most long term CU patients do no NSAIDs at all - which is annoying because you are stuck with tylenol basically.
I would take zyrtec/zantac daily to build up a baseline. Especially if you react to things like bumping a coffee table.
zantac and zyrtec together I know are fine, cause my allergist put me on that combo when my allergies get bad.
ETA: Zyrtec can be habit forming for some people. I can't go off it without really slow tapering. I get itchy hives on my palms and bottoms of my feet if I miss a dose.
This happened to me too!! Although it's really hard to know if it was caused by the zyrtec or the zyrtec just really worked well over time so when I stopped the reactions came rushing back.
y4m am I remembering correctly that you have a physical uticaria? Or was that one of our long lost posters?
I broke out in hives while backpacking everywhere my socks, bra and pack were touching me. And the palms of my hands where I was holding my hiking poles. Which suuuuuuucked. I used to be allergic to cold, but that went away and seems to have morphed to the related but even weirder pressure/friction allergy. So I'm effectively allergic to backpacking. This also cropped up on some longer bike rides (palms and aeound the edges of my shorts) but I didnt make the connection.
H is sad. I was miserable the first night trting not to claw my skin off. We threw in the towel the second day and went to a hotel room where I could lay spread eagle naked on a bed doped up on benedryl. Which didnt help. The entire bottle of pinot totally did the trick though.

I great up near there and have many friends and family members who've been evacuated. It's crazy how fast it threatened and spread overnight - often these fires can be contained to the hills so the damage is minimized, but conditions with the wind and humidity are so bad that tons of homes have been lost.
I have been so happy with my instant pot. I feel like the food cooks better and has more flavor. I have a 30 minute pot roast that is far better than any roast I ever did in the crock pot. Plus I love that I can sear the meat in the same device prior to starting the cooking process and it gives it so much better flavor and texture.
I wonder if mine is defective b/c it doesn't get searing hot? Hmmm. Maybe I'm not letting it heat up long enough? I like that it's both a pressure cooker and a slow cooker. I also use it to steam artichokes quickly. Yum.
Maybe you already know this, but since I didn't at first I'll point it out. Once you turn on the saute function, you can use the adjust button to turn up the heat. You always want to sear with the adjustment set to "more" and I think normal is the default.
I personally think the end results are about the same between crock pot and instant pot, but the instant pot is faster and more versatile (boiled eggs, yogurt, pot-in-pot, etc.).
- I like the K'tan as well, but is it really necessary since the Lillebaby is infant-friendly? Skip the K'tan- I hated it. Get a Solly Baby if you want a soft newborn carrier.
I'd get a ring sling. The Solly was always so hard to manipulate while out. Any kind of ring sling (I had a Maya Wrap) is so easy to use once you get it strung.
That boppy lounger was BY FAR the most used baby item we had. Honestly the U-shaped Boppy pillow was the least useful of my THREE baby pillows (Breast Friend being the third). You will want the BOB adapter, or a snap and go frame that works with your carseat. We started using our stroller directly around 6 months. Get the humidifier too.
I would wait on the mirror, carrier, forehead thermometer, window shades, baby proofing. We are just baby proofing now at 8 months as she starts to get mobile. You can really figure out the diaper caddy later too.
A gotcha we experienced: we paid full sales tax and full annual property tax on our leased vehicle...even though we didn't own it. Would never do it again because of that cost, which we didn't understand fully at the time
I think maybe it would help if you get our of your all or nothing mindset? Do some formula for now and see how it feels. It doesn't have to mean the end of your BFing relationship unless it works great and feels amazing, and then it should all be very straightforward!
I get this. But I'm out of the house 12 hours a day. I wasn't able to nurse DS1 more than a couple weeks after I quit pumping with him and my supply was great at that time.
It doesn't feel worth it to pump 4 times a day and only get half of what he needs.
For what it's worth, if I were in this situation I would probably FF and not look back!
In other words... the decision to give a bottle of formula is just that. A decision to give a bottle of formula.
Of course it's a lot harder to pull the trigger on that if the decision to give a bottle of formula = a decision to give up on BFing completely forever. But it's not that - it's just a bottle of formula...after which you can make dozens more binary decisions about that, based on more data about how you feel and how things are going. Reframe it that way.
y4m , it's the "just a little more" that I will push myself into.
I would like to continue nursing overnight as that seems easier, but then I worry with a supply drop whether he's getting enough.
I think I need to just bite the bullet and go get some formula at CostCo. I'll feel fine about it once it's in the house.
Why is this such a mindfuck for me? I know formula isn't poison and is a perfectly legitimate way to feed him. The mom guilt is something else.

I also told myself I would never go to extreme measures (aside from delicious oatmeal cookies). I can see how easy it is to fall into just doing a tiny bit more (look at many of the posts in this thread so far!)
What we did when my supply dropped is just start supplementing with formula when convenient (for us that was the evenings feeding - because she sleeps longer if that is formula). I found it so freeing mentally not to have to count ounces so closely anymore. BFing overnight is still more convenient, so I do that. I also don't mind pumping when at work - but I want to do very little of it the rest of the time.
If you don't enjoy nursing and it's not making your life easier...formula is awesome!
The Spectra seems to be a popular favorite these days - the S2 is covered by many insurances, but requires plugging in (some insurance will let you pay to upgrade to an S1, which has a rechargeable battery).
The S2 is a great pump. Although it's large and the double electric means strapping in, hands free bra, etc. For me it's great for expressing the maximum milk in a minimum time.
I bought a Medela swing after I went back to work, and honestly that's the pump I use more because it feels like less of an ordeal. It's single sided, A/C or 4 AA batteries. Also works with the medela harmony handle for manual pumping. It's small for travel. If I were going to be pumping during naps or only 1-2 times a day (maybe watching TV at night or something) as a SAHM, I think I'd prefer the Swing because it's much easier to start and stop.
I use it at work. My primary use case is for bouncing things back into my own inbox if other people don't respond to requests, but I know a lot of my coworkers use it to preschedule outbound emails. I've used it that way myself when I was working late at night or on a weekend but didn't want my employees to feel obligated to respond to something at those times.
I see your logic. If an ISP is a form of utility and needs to operate for the public good and be neutral, shouldn't hosting?
For me the difference is that the pipes themselves were government sponsored (state and local) to start. The hosting companies were not.
Anyone can make a conservative oriented Go Daddy if they want (and I think net neutrality would apply to the whole of their content then). But not anyone can make another Comcast.
There are so many fake accounts on twitter. They always use a stock looking photo and alot of them are just painfully obvious. Would be nice if twitter would try to crack down on things.
There's a lot of speculation that they won't/can't because doing so would mean a catastrophic hit to the size of their supposed user base as well as growth trajectory.
