Ugh, we haven’t done family photos since dd was 9 months old. I can’t find a photographer who isn’t crazy expensive. I just got a quote for $400 for a 45 min session. That’s a lot, isn’t it? I also hate how I look and I know dd will not cooperate so I’m not even sure I want to do it.Â
Someone tell me what to wear.
One of the moms in my FB group is a photographer and she does 30 minute mini sessions for $100. Do you want me to send you a link to her website? I love her style, it's more photojournalistic/candid.Â
ETA: you get 12 digital files with the package.Â
I'd like her info!! I still haven't booked ours yet for this year.

Yeah $400 is a lot. We've done mini sessions which are about 30 mins for $225. My kids can barely handle 30 mins so I'm not bothering to pay for any more time.
Does your DH have any connections through his side biz?
I don't go here, but I started reading the book yesterday and needed to talk about it. I agree with downtoearth, she is so methodical and pragmatic in discussing everything. I can totally hear her voice as I read. I have been reading it on the train during my commute so have been fighting back the tears. I love the quotes she chose to include, I've been saving them as I go.
For the last 2 years we've done fleeces, vests and then a winter puffy type coat. Their fleeces and vests I've gotten from either Old Navy or Carters. I've lucked out at found North Face coats at my local consignment sale.
Tues and Weds at daycare were not good but she's had no accidents at home at all so we were sticking with it. Today she had one accident and even told her teacher she had to pee twice without being prompted. They had said they might have to use diapers again if they didn't see improvement but today was great so they are going to stay the course. I'm hoping this is the start of great days at daycare! She seemed much happier today at pickup too!
That's awesome progress preppy! Glad things are going better!
They're doing great at daycare. At home they tell me they want to go but at daycare she has them sit every hour. No accidents though. DD did poop a tiny bit yesterday, DS woke at midnight and had gone a tiny bit in his pull up but they are so fussy. DS cried all morning and would not get ready, he almost threw up twice from crying so hard but once we got to daycare they peed and then were fine. I'm sure their tummies hurt.
I did a ton of fruit for dinner and give them a tiny bit of miralax. I'm going to go over lunch and buy some other stuff to help. I'm sure at this point it's hard and they just don't know how to push it out.
Poor kids, they must be super uncomfortable. Hope the fruit and extra stuff works to get things moving.
I'm sorry preppy that is tough. I would give her a few more days and see how she does. It's got to be tough for them coming back from a long weekend plus having to think about using the potty.
We are going to see how tomorrow goes and if we think she needs a reset at home DH is going to take the day off and stay home with her. He's putting in his notice next week anyways so he can burn through his PTO. I'm discouraged but trying to tell myself it was only one day. I should have kept her home today!!! Ughhhh.
That's a good idea to do some more time at home if she needs it. I hope tomorrow goes better!
How exciting you DH is accepting the job offer, congrats!!

They both did great at daycare today!! DD had zero accidents and DS only had one accident! They even did a good job going on their own without reminders!
They made it to daycare dry. DS went pee on the potty when we got there. But I didn't realize they had the bigger toilets in the preschool room so DS dribbled a little bit.
I'm really curious to see how things go today at daycare as well. The director said they would prompt them every 45 mins or so.
Eeek, that is a tough situation for a newly potty trained kid. Our day care is planning on reminding my kids every 45 mins or so to use the potty and just asked for lots of back up clothes while they learn.
All I could think to do would be to really work at home on getting him to go when he needs to, but I'm not sure how much of that can be taught vs. the kid learning to be more aware of their body on their own.
Ugh sorry isabel, this whole process is frustrating. We had our first poop accident this afternoon. But they have gotten all pees in the potty.
I'm interested to see how tomorrow goes at daycare.
preppy - are you planning to send your DD to daycare or keep her home?
I am going to do daycare tomorrow. She had two accidents early but didn't have any from 10am on so I'm hopeful. I think daycare could make or break this. She is very on it with poops but has to be prompted more for pee. We did a few short outings today without incident. I'm hoping daycare drives it home for us tomorrow! I am planning on going to the beach alone!
Awesome! Yeah I could not handle another day couped up. I'm hopppng daycare goes well tomorrow. I've packed a lot of spare clothes!
We made it to target and back and they both stayed dry. We tried to get them to pee at target but they refused. I have the oxo travel potty. They were scared of the seat on the big potty and only DD would sit on it on the ground but didn't pee.
What are you guys planning to do for peeing on the go? I'm wondering if I need to have them practice with the travel potty at home or just bring the small potty with us. We've been using the summer infant small potties at home.
We're gearing up for our first outings today. Going to Target this morning and the playground after nap time. Fingers are crossed for successful outings!
We did ok this morning. DD finally pooped and got it in the potty. They got a bit frustrated with me prompting them to go. I'm thinking of trying them in pants commando after nap time.
We've been up since 6 and had 1 accident. DS is doing great and will sit on the potty and go when he needs to. DD tends to not want to stop what she's doing to sit on the potty which makes it a bit tricky as she's also a bit of a camel. I'm trying to balance reminders with knowing she can go an hour or more between pees.
We're also due for a poop and haven't gotten one from either of them yet on the potty so that will be interesting.
Each had an accident this afternoon but did well about saying when they needed to go potty. I'm thinking of trying pants tomorrow to get them ready for daycare. We did undies after nap time so they could practice pulling them up/down and they did ok with it.
We made it to nap time with only 2 accidents, they did really well. I'm eager to try them with clothes on and a possible outing so am trying to be patient and give it some time. They've both seen their new underwear and are eager to wear them.
When are you guys thinking of putting on clothes/taking them out?
Sounds like a lot of us are potty training this weekend so thought I would start a thread.
I'm potty training my 2 yr old twins who will be 3 in November. I'm following the Oh Crap method for now. DS has peed in the potty a few times but nothing for DD.
