Philly!
Love it so much. I am working on booking a quick trip in the city (I live about 25 mins away in the burbs now) with my college girlfriends over my bday weekend, I cannot wait!
Great food.
I am 100% honest when I say I have no idea what Pokemon hunting is. I know people are obsessed yet I still haven't looked into what it actually is. Lol.
Seattle is always a great option. Such an easy flight, too. Portland, OR, as well.
I've never been to Portland, Maine, but my husband wants to drive to Maine when we go to Boston. I have zero clue where Portland, Maine is relative to Boston.
New Orleans in the fall and winter is when it is habitable! Great food, lots of wonderful alcohol, and some really neat museums and tours if you're wanting to do more than eat or drink (but really, eating and drinking is enough). I love it here, but not this time of year. It's either raining or we're in a heat advisory. Too hot.
I once went in July or August. I walked maybe two blocks to a restaurant.
Upon arrival, the sweet hostess said, "Welcome! May I show you where our ladies' room is?"
I thought this was weird until I went in and saw that I looked like somebody had poured a bucket of water on my head. SO SWEATY.
She was a fabulous hostess! LOL!
That's how I end up looking 90% of the time. It's also why I also have something with me to pull my hair back at all times. My head sweats and my hair is wet. I can't do cute most of the year here, but it's still a great place.
Not my city but for a trip with girlfriends definitely New Orleans. I know you have been but the food is so good and always worth a trip. I just wouldn't want to go solo because drinking alone is depressing, cocktails and food are my favorite New Orleans activities.
I would do DC alone though. Visiting the Smithsonians alone is awesome because sometimes I want to stay three hours and sometimes I want to stay three minutes. Depending on when you go you can do a White House tour with Christmas decorations. Most importantly so much yummy food.
New Orleans is a great idea. I'd love to go in the fall/winter, too -- not hot and humid then. And you're right re not going solo!
I know people love D.C., but I have a weird aversion to it after having lived there for three rather unhappy years. LOL.
I actually don't go downtown much but I was at the Doctor the other day. The entire city is full of Pokemon and pokestops. I mean if that doesn't sway you I don't know what will. LOL

But it seems less "city" to me.
I think I want "city."
Portland, Maine reminds me a bit of Seattle. Very walkable around the downtown. Has a hippy vibe to it, outdoorsy people are numerous. Seafood is really good, some really good pizza places too. There are a few highly rated restaurants. You can take a ferry to some islands including Peaks Island which is beautiful and has good food and views.
Portland is about a 2-2.5 hour drive from Boston. There is also a train.
But its definitely not a city size wise like Seattle or Boston or New Orleans, etc.
Ummmm... we have less alcohol in our beer but very pretty mountains and a waffle place that was on that show with the annoying blonde guy. No?
ETA- there is a poke gym at my work. I don't know what that means but I'm assuming you do, and it must be good because people go wander out in the soccer field for hours doing... poke gym things.
If I were a skier, maybe I'd head your way for Park City?
I actually have a good friend who lives in SLC, and I haven't seen her in ages since she moved.
Oh, Park City has outlets! We can shop and eat waffles and then I will give you the Brawny Baby painting to remember us by.
See? I offer you souvenirs. Who else has offered you a souvenir?
When are you going to NYC? Same time as last year?
Labor Day! So pretty soon and pretty hot and humid sadly.
Oh boooo. We could've met up to watch the parade (at a predetermined time and place because my cell had zero service the entire time we were there last year). Lol We probably walked right past one another. I'm still bitter.
I'm not suggesting Chicago since I can read, but H and I were eating outside downtown and I promised DS I'd look for Pokemon and I caught two just sitting at my table.
I stopped playing after a minute, but there's Pokemon EVERYWHERE here! I totally thought of you.
Hahahaha. I'm so excited for our short trip soon.
It will be just me and the husband attempting to rekindle love and having a spectacular celebration of our mediocre marriage!
That probably sounds a bit terrible, but I'm actually genuinely excited because he got us reservations at my dream restaurant.
Early fall in VA is ridiculously beautiful. Come to Charlottesville for awesome food, lovely wineries, skyline drive scenery, UVA, Monticello, more wine, craft beer, and more wine.

This is going to sound INSANE but Bentonville, Arkansas. World-class art museum, fantastic restaurants, cute town square probably teeming with Pokemon.

That's so cool you are going again!
One of these days, if I'm ever in Vegas without being held down by child, we really need to meet.
We have been in the same place at the same time without connecting far too often!
